We had a very positive experience at Michelle's duplex. The apartment is very clean, nicely furnished and in a great location. We loved having the outdoor space. Michelle's partner met us exactly as scheduled and was extremely helpful. Overall, it was a great place to stay. We will definitely go back!!!

Wonderful and convenient location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the neighborhood surrounding this property! We felt very safe as there was a lot of foot traffic around (families, people walking their dogs) but it wasn't too congested. Metro stops were close by and plenty of breakfast places were within a block or two walking distance (Muffins cafe was nearby and Magnolia bakery was right across the street!) And Central Park was so near!

The property itself was clean, cozy, and comfortable. If you're staying in the downstairs bedroom, you can really hear the floors creaking above but if you don't mind your traveling companions, then it's totally fine.

Highly recommended and would definitely stay at this place again!

Upper West Side Gem

  • 4 of 5

Tho small (Manhattan !) the upper floor is open & airy, with rare skylights and a small patio.

The kitchen is cramped but functional, the lower unit is dark but comfortable.

It is well located near the Columbus Circle Metro, a block off Broadway & two to Central Park. There are plenty of near-by eateries, and good grocery choices.

It served as a great jumping off spot for all the major sights :

Central Park

Washington Square

Theater District

Rockefeller Plaza

St Patrick's

9/11 Museum

Empire State Building

And it's well priced.

Happy Family of 5

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week with the kids in NYC. We are pretty picky. Okay, I am. This was great for our family. Lots of room to spread out. Plus the downstairs bedroom was such a cozy and quiet place to sleep after tired days. I worried my daughter would have trouble sleeping in the sunny main room, but (at 14) she could have slept all day. Laundry two doors up did wash+fold in 18 hour turnaround for very reasonable price. Beats spending vacation doing laundry, I say. Very comfortable beds. We added a small fan to circulate the air downstairs and drown out kids moving around at night, and it was great. Easy folks to work with and very tidy and clean. Note to families of kids with picky eaters, there are some great places within a few blocks north or south, but it's not packed (hence the quiet) with places for picky kids to eat. We did better when we planned early in the day where to eat dinner - go north or south a few blocks for great options.

This apartment is great!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 4 adult friends had a fantastic stay in this Upper West Side apartment. It was very spacious, brightly lit with natural light, fun courtyard, super comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. We felt at home! Great food markets (Zabars, Trader Joes) were just around the corner, as was the Metro. Central Park was only steps away! We felt safe and comfortable.

All communications with Roxanne were easy, usually getting back to us in a few hours. We would definitely stay here again on future trips. Thanks!

FYI! From LaGuardia-we took the M60 bus to Colombia University stop, then metro to 66th Street stop and walked over...Easy!

On the way back to LaGuardia, we took Carmel car and limo service-also great!

Spectacular Location, Lovely Property, Angry and Unhappy Neighbors will Bring Down your Experience

  • 3 of 5

The Pros: AMAZING location, just a few blocks to Central Park. There's restaurants, coffee shops, and wine bars all within walking distance. The neighborhood feels very safe. The duplex is very cute, two floors - bedroom in the basement and living area on the first floor.

The Cons: The neighbors are hateful of the unit being used as a VRBO. Three different neighbors came down to bang on our door and tell us the owners were being sued by the landlord for using the unit as a VRBO, asking us to be quiet in the middle of the day, asking us to turn off our music/tv. It was really ridiculous and took what was a five star experience and reduced it to a three star. Too bad, really. We LOVED the location and the duplex. Hopefully the owners can work this out with their neighbors.

The Upper West Side serves as a great home base for visitors looking for an authentic New York City experience. Primarily a residential neighborhood, it provides an escape from the chaos of Midtown and other heavily touristed areas. The area is famous for lovely tree-lined streets and brownstone buildings, many of which are landmarks. Elegant pre-war buildings line Broadway, Central Park West, Riverside Drive, and West End Avenue.

It is a great neighborhood for shopping, especially at gourmet stores, like Zabar's and Fairway and is a train hop away from the shops at Columbus Circle.

The restaurant offerings in the area are plentiful. Enjoy tea and a sandwich at the charming Alice's Tea Cup and don't miss the heavenly banana pudding around the corner at Magnolia Bakery!
