Perfect spot for our Family in Jerome

  • 5 of 5

I took the wife and two daughters to Jerome for Spring Break (beats waiting in line at Disney). One was 13 and the other 6. While I could write a 6 star review about Jerome itself, I'll focus on the lodging.

The apartment above the candy store really did have a million dollar view. The accommodations were comfortable, the space was plentiful, and the 2 levels helped us feel like we all had our own space (even though the girls slept with us on the 3rd floor after ghost hunting).

If there was one complaint it would be that we couldn't get good pressur for the showerhead. It was serviceable, but barely. Not a deal breaker since the ladies were all happy to use the tub feature instead.

The host was as accommodating as we could hope and the trip and I wouldn't hesitate to both stay at this location again and recommend it to any friend.

I should also add the parking lot next to the building made it easy to park closely to the unit at all times (you should ask why there is an open space to park next to the building - there is a grisly store for every square foot in Jerome!).

In summary, great value, location, and view made this a perfect place in Jerome for our trip!

Highlight of Our Trip!!!

  • 5 of 5

Jerome is a great place to visit and the "Million Dollar Views" 2 story apartment, in the middle of town, was a fabulous place to stay.

The views from the decks are amazing and the apartment is very comfortable and part of the unique experience of visiting Jerome. There are lots of things to do for a day or 2, especially poking around the local shops, visiting the Douglas Mansion in the State Park, sampling Arizona wines in the wine bars and good food at the nearby restaurants (we enjoyed Grapes and the Mile High) ... and of course, sitting on the deck and enjoying the view!

I am staying here again if I am ever in the neighborhood.

Another Wonderful Stay, July 1-5, 2016

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed yet another wonderful stay at the Million Dollar View. We have enjoyed this property several times over the years, and Tom and Artis are the most gracious and accommodating of hosts. As regular visitors of Jerome for the past 30 plus years, we have experienced and enjoyed many of the properties, hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area. This has become our favorite and our regular stay, it has truly become our "home away from home, when in Jerome."

The Million Dollar View is a two story apartment with much room to accommodate 4-5 folks easily. The kitchen has everything you'll need and both balconies are delightful. Although it is listed as a two story apartment, it sits over the candy store, so in fact the balconies have a second and third story view, both of which are amazing! We comfortably watched the annual 4th of July parade go right by us, viewing it from the balcony above, in the comfort of our P.J.'s (having slept in late,) while sipping coffee. We also got to see the annual fireworks again from the top floor balcony as we celebrated and sipped champagne. Watching the 4th of July fireworks going off in the valley below, in Cottonwood is a real treat!

Having spent much time at both the MDV and the MDV II, either one is a great bargain and a wonderful place to spend a couple of nights, or as we do, several days. Thank you Tom and Artis, as always we look forward to our next trip up to Jerome, and our next stay at our "home away from home, when in Jerome!"

Perfect getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

This is the most adorable, perfectly located place in Jerome. The house is comfortable and welcoming, and the pictures do not do the view from either floor justice. Easy walking access to everything in Jerome (and so very nice to have a spot in town to get back to if you need to drop off all your purchases!!) as well as easy driving access to Cottonwood. I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is, not to mention that Tom and Artis are incredibly friendly and helpful. We will absolutely stay there again and I would recommend this place to anyone!

Dealing with owners for travel

  • 5 of 5

This review is strictly on my experience in dealing with the owner regarding my hectic planning for travel. Long story short, I thought I had things pretty firmed up with the family that I was traveling with, on dates and all that jazz. One thing after another kept coming up and we ended up having to cancel the whole trip...AFTER I ALREADY BOOKED & PAID FOR THE WEEKEND. I should also add, that this was on a holiday weekend, so the fact that he was being so accommodating and so willing to cancel things in the end was very nice as I know from a business perspective, a loss is a loss. Though I have no doubt someone just like me, but with more solid plans, will be so happy to find a place you can get 2 nights in a row for that holiday weekend. I appreciate his humanity and understanding and for that, when I make it to Jerome I will be staying at that place! I think people can be really shady these days and in a situation where he had all the cards in his hands to be a stickler, he wasn't! Thank you Tom!

Not worth the money !

  • 1 of 5

The bed was absolutely awful with big dips on both sides; way too soft and lumpy and the cheap nylon blanket left my skin crawling and itchy as hell. At the rate we paid for this unit I would have expected a much newer mattress and some decent linens. The carpet was filthy and the shower was awful. I must admit I like more modern and this is for sure more on the rustic side. In my first correspondence with the owner I did specify that we were looking for a comfortable bed; I guess I was not clear enough in my request. The TV downstairs did not work and the VCR is so old and slow we could not watch movies either. The kitchen is fairly well equipped and the balcony with views were where we spent most of our time. We loved the town of Jerome; the shops are unique with quality merchandise; lots of local art work and some good places to eat as well. We ended up buying timeshare at a resort just outside Sedona so we don't have to pay these ridiculous prices for crappy accommodations ever again.
