About Laurie Roberts
Lane and I are artists/craftsman/contractors who love nature, hiking, animals and working with our hands. We get a bang out of creating spaces, transforming ugly to beautiful and providing a place for people to unwind.
Laurie Roberts purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Laurie Roberts chose Warner Springs
We looked for a long time to find a place that was semi remote that would be good setting for wilderness vacation rental and that had a fixer house on it. We found this 10 acres with adobe home built in the 40's, an old walnut grove and knew it was the one because of the beautiful view of the valley, it was surrounded by nature rather than neighborhood and it bordered on Cleveland National Forest land. We spent 2 years restoring/remodeling the house, putting in fruit trees and garden and in January 2013, came up with the safari tent concept as a vacation rental.
What makes this Cabin unique
Total privacy, fenced compound for your dogs, gorgeous view and incredible night skies. The tent opens at each end during the day and close it at night. Surrounding yourself with nature and it's sounds have a very relaxing effect that you cannot get in a walled in structure. The Japanese call this 'shinrin-yoku' which translates to forest bathing, or being surrounded by a forest environment which has been shown to improve mental and physical health.

Camp Ribbonwood is the BEST!
My husband I love staying at Camp Ribbonwood. We look forward to it every year. It our little slice of heaven. It's perfect to get away from everything and reconnect. We play card games, read, relax, hike, make meals together, and star gaze from the jacuzzi. Lane and Laurie have created the perfect couple's get away.
AMAZINGLY tranquil and peaceful cabin, a slice of heaven on earth
Camp Ribbonwood is AMAZING and is one of my most favorite getaways. This was our first time staying and we will definitely be back. The information provided prior to our stay was extremely helpful and Laurie was wonderful. This is one of the most tranquil, quiet and peaceful places to stay. Laurie and Lane have created an oasis, the cabin has everything you need plus some well thought out amenities and features from the hand made chairs, battery powered candles, electric heater, heated bed, fresh herbs, movies, games, hot tub and bathtub.
Our stay was on 11/8 through 11/10. We crafted our own pizza using the Kettle Pizza Oven, which is a must do. I’ve made my own pizza for years in my kitchen oven, but using the Kettle Pizza Oven, the pizza came out perfectly cooked with a crunchy bottom. We played some games, enjoyed the hot tub and just the quiet private peacefulness as well as the sheer beauty of the area. We hiked the mile trail by the cabin, a good hike and we recommend trekking poles if you have them. We wanted to go to a winery or two for wine tasting but struggled with the fact that we didn’t want to leave the cabin. Though we did; we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Hawk Watch Winery which has some very good wines. The tasting room is small but the outside patio and views are great to enjoy a glass of wine overlooking Warner Springs.
We really felt rested, reenergized and recharged at Camp Ribbonwood, a peaceful little slice of heaven on earth indeed. Thank you Laurie and Lane for created such a beautifully tranquil place and sharing it with others, bless you!
Outstanding Romantic Getaway!
This was our third time staying at Camp Ribbonwood. We chose this location to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The booking process was a piece of cake and the owner, Laurie, was extremely helpful. Make sure to open her email after you book, as it is a little tricky finding the location.
The day before we were set to arrive, Laurie sent me a text to let me know there wasn't a guest there the night before and we could check in as early as we wanted. When we arrived, Laurie met us in her golf cart and escorted us to the property. We were pleasantly surprised to see they had a brand new safari tent, which replaced the old one. Additionally, they had a brand new stove. All we brought with us was clothes and food, as they provide everything else you could possible need.
Just like our other two stays, it was a perfect romantic getaway! We didn't see anyone else for our entire stay. The pictures on the website are completely accurate. We HIGHLY recommend staying at Camp Ribbonwood! It is definitely worth the price!
First time glamping and it was AMAZING!! Dogs loved it and we loved it!! Very private, really enjoyed the Hot tub at night while stargazing and off leash property hike! Overall, very happy family but extremely sad we had to go.
Wow, what a great place! My husband and I have been glamping in California, Oregon, Colorado and South Dakota, but this place is second to none.
The décor is charming and rustic and all you need to be comfortable is provided here. It was a unique experience to soak in the bathtub and observe the surrounding scenery and also waking up in the morning in the middle of nature. We were also quite fond of stargazing in the hot tub and the kitchen made it easy to prepare for great BBQ in perfect surroundings.
Laurie and Lane were the perfect hosts; they answered all queries promptly, provided detailed arrival info and made sure we had all we needed when we arrived. The place felt very private and we had such a nice and relaxing time and would just love to return.
Thanks for having us!
We had an incredible stay! Cozy glamping. Enjoyed the hike above the glamp, pizza oven, DVDs, hot tub while star gazing, and the local wineries. Thank you so much!
