How can you not appreciate this view and this house? Steve is the point man and helps in so many ways. He went above and beyond just like last time so we felt like family. We can't wait to set up something for summertime.

"Haven on the Lake" review

  • 4 of 5

Dear Michael and Pam,

We rented your home from September 8-12, 2016 and we enjoyed your home very much. We were met by your property agent Steve and just walking up the front walk let us know we made the right decision to rent your property. It is a very comfortable and well appointed home. As reported your property was so very clean and we told Steve and we ask you to please thank the housekeeping staff for cleaning so very well. The newlyweds really enjoyed the spa like feeling of the master bedroom and we all were so very thankful for the air-conditioning as the temperatures were in the 90's. We had 4 days of love, laughter, cooking and having a great time together. The kayaks were greatly enjoyed even in the 90+ degree heat. Thank you for supplying life jackets as well. The ramp in the park next door was indeed the way to get into the water safely.

The view of the lake from the inside on the house is stunning. We were sorry that the hatching of the millions of "midges" made it pretty impossible to enjoy being outside. They hatched the Friday night we arrived and the midges were everywhere for our entire visit. We could be outside for an hour before dusk but then had to go inside. No matter how fast we got into the door they followed. I was amazed that on Saturday morning literally 2 inches of dead midges were on the deck and patio door sill. Steve told us this is a common occurrence and it just depends when the midges hatch. We would have liked to know that this was a possibility as we had planned several meals for the grill and that just couldn't happen with the swarming midges. We are so glad they don't seem to bite but rather just buzz about your head.

Thank you for having the doggie barricade to the dock. Our dog has never been in water and if she had fallen into the lake it would have been very difficult to get to her quickly. You really have thought of just about everything to make your guests comfortable. We thank you and would recommend your home for those that enjoy having a great time together.

Most Sincerely,

John and Andrea Davis

Owner's Response: Thank you John and Andrea for your review. Michael and I have really tried to think of things we would like in a vacation home and implement what we can. Unfortunately bugs around a lake are very hard to control at times. We have a monthly service, the County, and in between the two of those we have purchased a $700 spraying system which we also do monthly. I am sorry you hit the hatching day on your arrival. It wasn't in our schedule for your stay :-( Fortunately it is only the summer months that sometimes experience these pesty bugs.

Great Lake House getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the lake house! The kitchen was well stocked with things we needed for our home cooked meals. The yard was beautiful and was a great scene for our porch sitting afternoons. Our dogs were welcomed and had a great time swimming in the lake and running around the fenced yard. We put the kayaks, bike, and fishing poles to use and we kept going back to those activities. The drive way parking had plenty of room for all 4 of our vehicles without a problem. Comfy beds and overall comfy vacation house. We wish Clearlake wasn't as green as it looked, but it didn't keep us from enjoying the kayaks. We talked about visiting again! Thanks so much!

Spotless, well furnished and perfectly located on the lake.

  • 5 of 5

We felt welcomed driving up to the lake-front property and fell in love when we opened the door. Steve gave us a complete tour and made sure we knew the lay of the land. Kitchen is large enough for all to share cooking, markets are close-by and fire pit is inviting. Towels and linens were crisp and clean. Pillows and mattresses were softer than home, but we like them firmer than most.

My best memories were when our son taught us how to fish. Beginners luck struck fast on the first day of casting with over 20 catches - yup - all from the dock (all fish were released). Thanks for having spare rods in the "toy shed".

Sunsets were amazing, and if you are into birds, they were mesmerizing.

Bottom line - we look forward to returning to Clear Lake - and especially to this wonderful lake front home. Family and Fish On!💕🎣👍

Terrific getaway right on the water

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Haven on the Lake. We came during the week, and had the only boat on the water! It was great to be able to tie off to their new dock. Speaking of the dock, we caught lots of bass every evening. There were times where both our boys had fish on at the same time! The evenings were so peaceful, watching the sunset, sipping cocktails, listening to music on the patio. It was awesome.

The house is very comfortable, clean and perfectly maintained. They seem to have thought of everything. We cooked in each night, and they have you covered with a fully stocked kitchen. The beds were comfy, lots of space. Steve is a great guy, and he made sure we had enjoyable stay. When we had to tinker with the boat, he even offered to bring us his tools.

I highly recommend this property, and we will definitely be back. Thanks for a great time.

Fly Fishing a Success!

  • 5 of 5

Our party of 5 included 2 fly- fishermen not too enthralled with lake fishing ...but.. We couldn't get them off the dock or kayaks as they successfully caught close to 20 Bass and one pretty crappy sunfish (inside joke)😊

The cottage is just lovely, the decor is delightfully modern/whimsical - lots of room inside and out. we thought about doing a drinking game as we counted how many seahorses we could find in the house until we realized we're grown women who didn't have that much stamina 💓. We just loved the place Pam! and We totally fell in love with the dolphin faucets❤️ Every little thing in the place made us smile . Steve was great btw. Gave us lots of info.

If you are new to Clear Lake this is a good start - the Boathouse bar/grill is the closest in Nice - bit of a biker bar but food and music decent and well priced and please go support and slurp at our 2 favourite wineries 'Chacewater' and 'Boatique' 30 minutes away - you won't be disappointed. Boatique has killer views btw.

We introduced our friends to Clear Lake for the 1st time and they are now fans.

Hoping to get back to Lake Haven soon! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Perfect Summer Getaway - Great Amenities, Fun, and Clean

  • 5 of 5

Haven on the Lake was perfect! The host is organized and so nice. You can tell she really cares about her property and the experience her guests have. For 6 adults and one pup the house was spacious, VERY clean, not a spec of dust to be found. As an added bonus there is a small market across the street for last min drinks, snacks etc...This came in handy a few times. :)

We came up to Lucern for a wedding at Precious Forest. We consisted of the brides siblings and significant others. This house is a couple minutes away from the entrance to the forest. The short commute made it easy to help out with the wedding setup. The wedding took place at the end of July at the peak of the summer heat so we were very happy to have an air conditioned, dust free house to come home to.

The kitchen is stocked! We baked treats for the wedding and hosted a BBQ. On the big day the bride came down to the house to beat the heat, relax and get ready. The setting was picturesque and we got some great "getting ready shots".

This was a very special weekend and staying at Haven on the Lake made it just perfect.

My only regret is that there was not enough time for us to enjoy the amenities provided. The kayaks and bikes looked brand new and so tempting. Hopefully next time we will be able break out the tackle box and kayaks.

Owner's Response: So glad Skye you all, including your pup, enjoyed our home and the wedding was beautiful. I can see it can be a great back drop for the bride photos. Hopefully you can visit us again when you have more time for the kayaking and fishing experiences:-)

Notes:

  • A wonderful area next door, a park like area where your kayaks and dogs can easily go in and out of the water. We keep the bottom of our dock at least 2 1/2 feet above the water level due to the possibility of an afternoon breeze that can cause waves.
