About Timothy Gundersen

My name is Judd Gundersen and I own this cabin with my wife Christine, however for the time being my brother Timothy Gundersen will be handling the affairs of the cabin in order to provide the best service possible! Christine originally purchased this cabin while we were first dating in 2007. Today, we are married and have a 4 year old son.

After purchasing the cabin our first order of business was to make the yard dog friendly. Our three dogs now enjoy the fenced backyard as well as the many dog friendly activities that the area has to offer.

We try to spend as much time as possible in Big Bear. We usually find ourselves spending more time during the summer at the cabin to escape the heat of Las Vegas, our current home.

While at the cabin we enjoy hiking, boating, fishing, riding motorcycles and ATVs and dining at the many great restaurants in the area.

Timothy Gundersen purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Timothy Gundersen chose Big Bear Lake

Living in Las Vegas made Christine miss the green landscape of the east coast. She decided to look for property in Big Bear because it has something to offer during all four seasons.

What makes this cabin unique

We looked at many cabins in Big Bear but were absolutely sold on this one. We loved the sunken fireplace, the recessed lot, the close proximity to Snow Summit and the available trailer parking during the summer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Patrick & Brett (the girl (:), Warren (Bulldog), Charlie (mutt) would like to thank you for having us stay at your little BB cottage. Pat did the triathlon on Friday and I was able to walk the dogs down to watch him come in! We took the dogs to the lake to swim (Warren absolutely loves the H20, with his life vest on of course! HA. We BBQ'D and read our books on the couch one day (love the couch, so comfy!) We ate dinner at Haciendas which we were also able to walk to, loved it! The best overall part for me was when I was sitting on the patio w/ the dogs (Pat @ grocery store) and we saw a HUGE beautiful wolf/coyote right up by the railing which the dogs scared off, a bittersweet moment for me. It was grey & white with the most beautiful unsettling eyes. The guy at the liquor store down the way said they have been known to take dogs off the leashes! Yikes! Thanks again for a wonderful getaway, we will be back! Love, Brett & Patrick

P.S. We had to move the big bear mat from the couch because Charlie has a toy version just like it but mini and I didn't want y'all to come home to the bear w a missing nose!

Cozy, clean and comfortable

We decided at the last minute to make a trip to Snow Summit for a couple days of skiing. The cabin was exactly what we were expecting. Very comfortable for me and my three kids. The kids enjoyed the Wii system and games, as well as the hot tub. I appreciated that it was very clean, furnished very comfortably, and everything was in good working order. It's an easy walk to the base of Snow Summit, even in ski boots; though the "short cut" was not accessible due to the several feet of snow that has fallen this season. We would definitely stay there again.

Convenient, Comfortable & Cozy

We so loved out stay at this cabin near the slopes. We didn't have to dig our car out of the newly-fallen snow to drive to ski. We just walked a block to the parking lot, and we were there! The cabin is comfortable with lots of cushy seating, TVs, Wii, and lots of DVDs. We were happy there were so many towels and blankets. The kitchen was fully-stocked and so cute! We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, which did the trick after a day of skiing. We hope to return to this place again!

Fantastic Big Bear Cabin Vacation!

  • 5 of 5
Verified Stay

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week's vacation at this fine cabin, during the first week of October 2016. It was very spacious and relaxing for just two people (approx 1,000 sq-ft). We enjoyed the big screen TV, kitchen, wood-burning fireplace in the living room, hot tub (outside), and the outside wood deck. Both the queen size bed and living room couch were very comfortable. The heater worked perfect when chilly. The bathroom was small but modern upgrade, highly adequate…super-nice shower head. Everything about the cabin was very clean and in good condition. The location on a court was great (no traffic) as was the private driveway for parking. It was very quiet all week long during our stay, we only saw a few other people from the cabin. During daily trips to the "Village" (downtown Big Bear Lake City), we liked using the back roads instead of main Big Bear Blvd, about a 1-mile drive. A convenience store is about 1/4-mile away from the cabin, and two grocery stores about 1 mile away. It was nice to take walks around the neighborhood, including through the parking lot of Snow Summit ski area. Dealing with the cabin owner via cell phone texts was very easy and convenient, making check-in and check-out easier than any hotel. I highly recommend this cabin for a great mountain vacation or short get-away for any couple or small family or group.
