Suitable for a return visitor to NYC

  • 4 of 5

This being my fifth or so visit to NYC and intending to sightsee in Brooklyn and Queens, this apartment more or less suited my needs.

First, the more. The owners seem to take their responsibilities seriously. They are responsive; the apartment was clean and exactly as described; and they even provided some basic groceries. Immediately adjacent to the house is an organic grocer; and within a couple of blocks are small grocers offering the usual snack items, but no true grocery nearby. There are a variety of ethnic cuisine snack shops within a couple of blocks, as well, mostly Southeast Asian and the typical Kebab houses.

The commute time to Lexington Ave. (Manhattan) is closer to 35 minutes, taking into consideration the walking distance (about 5 minutes) from the apartment. The WiFi worked well.

As for the less, it would be that the neighborhood is a little quiet and uninteresting at night. I knew this when I selected the apartment, as I had work to do in the evenings anyway, but others seeking a vibrant nighttime location might find the apartment unsuitable. Having proximity to sit-down restaurants would have been appreciated, as well.

All in all, a rather good stay.

Lovely little place deep in the heart of Queens

If Manhattan is not your thing and most certainly do not travel as I did from Jersey. Then, perhaps, this lovely little apartment may be perfect. Located in a heart of vibrant ethnic neighborhood, a stone's throw from JFK. This truly a nice little gem. I stayed here with my two small kids and I found everything that I needed was in the apartment. The owner ensured that I had a fully stocked larder because there is not a good supermarket very close to the apartment which was most helpful. Immaculately spotless and clean, with the owner there to provide every need. Made staying in New York a pleasure, about two blocks - although up a biggish hill (not San Francisco big) - from the Subway make this a prime location. Furthermore, cannot go wrong with its proximity to JFK.

However, rather far Manhattan and the nightlife that is there as Queens is considered a suburb of NYC proper. Quite a few good eateries are around the apartment but mainly Spanish in a predominantly South East Asian neighborhood. Streets were safe and quiet. Apartment sleeps 3 - two sharing a bed and one on a pull out sofa.

Many thanks to the host for providing such a wonderful apartment.

Beautiful ,comfortable apartment

  • 5 of 5

Very nice place ,beautiful , very nice clean and accommodating owners. There was fresh eggs, bread, milk and juice in the fridge when we arrived. I have 2 young kids and when we needed anything Mr.Quaizer didn't hesitate . Him and his wife are very nice people who go out of their way for their guests . I would stay their again in her heart beat. Close by the city and beautiful neighborhood with a neighboring park and beautiful surroundings . Excellent ,A++++++.
