Amazingly Beautiful Property and view

  • 5 of 5

There were four of us and the accommodations were spacious enough for all. The owners were responsive and informative. We spent nights in the hot tub enjoying the northern lights. The home had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The beauty of the area is amazing. We would definitely stay again.

fantastic accomodation

We had a great time in Iceland helped by this lovely property. Eating and drinking out is expensive in Iceland; well you don't have to with this property. It has a large table which comfortably sat 8 of us ( and it could extend further if req'd ). From the table, you have wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. the kitchen is excellent, and there is a larder cupboard, which is already stocked with essentials, such as condiments, oils, spices etc and much more. The house is also in a great location for exploring the Golden Circle, with the Kerid volcano crater being only about 10 minutes away. The hot tub was great, with plenty of room for 8. We didn't get to see the northern lights though properly unfortunately.

Fabulous! Amazing home with great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this property and it was perfect for our stay. Our main criteria for selecting this home was it's location for viewing the northern lights and we had several nights of perfect viewing!

The owners were extremely responsive to our questions and challenges and I can say enough about their help and support.

Again, amazing property! Thanks so much for our wonderful stay!

Very comfortable, spacious home.

  • 5 of 5

It is a challenge to find the house in the dark, in a blizzard, without any tracks to guide you, and no other properties nearby being occupied in Winter. However, the owner (who lives in Reykjavik) came to the rescue and towed us out of the deep snow, having got totally stuck. We walked the 800 yards to the house with headtorches and kids in tow. When we finally arrived at the house, it was magic, beautifully furnished, very warm and cosy, very spacious and comfortable. (there were 7 of us (3 generations)). The house is very well equippeed with everything you can think off. The larder is very well stocked with all essential stock items. The Hot tub lived up to expectations, only the last few days, the temperature dropped to 20C. We had to be rescued once more due to heavy snow, but the owner sent a snowplough to get us out. As the property is at the bottom of a steep slope, in winter it is advisable to leave the car at the top if there is any chance of snow. The house is in a beautiful setting, quite remote. Iceland in the winter is a real adventure but well worth the effort. Once again a big thankyou to the owner for being so helpful.

Really was the best holiday EVER!!!

  • 5 of 5

OMG where do I start? We travelled with two friends, so a party of 4. When we arrived in Iceland there was a little snow on the ground and seeing as it was winter we had arranged to hire a four wheel drive!!!! The drive to the house is fairly hairy in the dark and on Icey tracks. Beware it is very isolated!!! But so worth it. The house when we arrived was very, very warm and well light. We had a huge snow storm when we were there and we didn't once loose power or heat. The hot tub remained hot, hot, hot and we had loads of tubby time fun most evenings.....we did manage to turn the lights off around the house and saw the Northern Lights from the hot tub it truly, truly was magical!!!!!The panoramic views from the wrap round window in the morning will live with me for ever, it really was breathtaking!!!!

There was everything we needed in the house to cook meals every night. The house is ideally placed just on the edge of the golden circle so all the sights are in short driving distance.

Fortunately we had got provisions from the supermarket on the way to the house but of visiting in the winter ensure you have plenty of groceries in as we got snowed in not once but twice and seeing as it is a private road, you have to contact the owners, who arrange for a local man to dig you out, this can be a long wait!!!!! The owners throughout this whole ordeal were fantastic and infact the day before our flight home we needed to be dug out once again and they arranged for us to stay in their apartment in Reykjavik so we were closer to the airport....

The house was amazing, the Icelandic people were incredible and we just can't wait to return........ one negative is that the house has almost doubled in price 😩😩😩

Owner's Response: Thank you. We are happy that you liked it so much. It has not been so much snow for decades. Our price is in US dollars and has not changed but for people coming from UK it is more expensive because of currency exchange For us in Iceland it means fewer ISK because the krona is getting stronger against USD, EUR and GBP Thanks again, Bergur and Audur
