About the Owner

I am a native Wacoan. I currently operate a local real estate business here. It has been exciting to see downtown Waco and Baylor University's growth over the past few years. The beautiful Brazos River is starting to develop. Waco is happening!

Lovely house in a nice neighborhood, wel maintained with good security.

  • 5 of 5

When looking for accommodations for our family in Waco for a 90th birthday weekend with our mother/grandmother, we decided that the two families would enjoy being together rather than in hotel rooms. Since everyone lives scattered across the country it was more fun to be together. We had the added advantage of being from Waco and had a chance to drive by the property before deciding to rent it. The curb appeal prompted our selection.

Our family really enjoyed their stay in the Lyle Avenue house. It was very clean and well maintained and offered everything we needed for the weekend including a nice welcoming gift from Pam Whitworth. There was plenty of space for 4 adults, 2 youngsters and 1 teenager to spread out for privacy when needed and enough room for the gang to gather for time together. We especially enjoyed the big screen TV in the sunroom for watching football and the kids loved the bottle cap "dart board." There were enough things in the house to interest youngsters and keep them engaged. The house was close to Grandma's house which really worked out well for us and was convenient for all of the additional side trips, including visits to the Baylor campus for our high school senior. The quiet residential neighborhood was perfect for early morning runs and the younger children really enjoyed the huge fenced back yard. Off street parking was excellent for several vehicles and could be easily secured behind the back gate. The kitchen was what you would expect in an upscale home with plenty of variety in dishes and cookware to handle most any cooking project. The beds were good overall as well for a short stay. All in all, we had everything we needed for a very comfortable weekend. Pam answered my e-mails promptly when I had questions and her staff was always friendly when I called prior to the trip.

If I could add only one thing it would be a couple more chairs that could be pulled up to the dining table to accommodate all 8 adults when we had an extended family meal there. The kids didn't mind the coffee table in the sunroom, though; thought of it as a treat.

I would highly recommend this property to a family or group wanting a comfortable space for a week or weekend in Waco. Baylor is close and the Fixer Upper's Silos are easy to get to. Thank you, Pam, for a very enjoyable experience. We would definitely use your property for another family gathering in Waco.

Stay here! 🙂

We enjoyed our stay while in Waco, we were visiting to attend Silobration (a HGTV Fixer Upper event) the rental was not disappointing, it was just like home. Pam gave us a lot of information with places to visit and even a list of fixer upper homes (very helpful). Although it was just my husband and I, this would be a great place to stay for a family.

Great stay!

The perfect stay for our girls family get away! We had enough space for the 6 of us to spread out and not be on top of each other like a hotel. The two dens really helped with relaxing after a fun day of junking! Pam checked on us and provided addresses and information for our weekend.

Weekend Getaway in Waco

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this home. The house was big enough for all of us to spread out and relax. The kitchen was stocked beyond anything I have seen in any of the other rental we have stayed in. The beds were comfortable, even the sleeper sofa was comfortable (and most are not). Loved the welcome note and the goodies. The kids loved the ladder ball game and Roku. It was so easy to get around town. We would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed here twice, but won't be staying again

The house is spacious and well stocked, but we are sports fans, and the tv reception and channel selections are inadequate, and the wifi is useless.

Owner's Response: So sorry for the problem with internet & cable. We give all of our guests day and evening phone numbers to contact us with any problems. We since learned our provider had a line burn up that supplied the house. It has been resolved and we certainly could have resolved the issue during the stay. We can't fix something we know nothing about.
