About the Owner
Hi! We love meeting new people and trying new things- especially food and travel. We've lived in the Asheville area since our college years, and have two great kids. Western North Carolina is very community-minded and we like to get involved in helping make our wonderful place to live even better. Our family enjoys hiking the trails and cooling off in the streams in the summer, and then catching the incredible vistas on the way home.

Relaxing Week in the Mountains
Our family. three dogs included had a great time at the Starlite home near Asheville. There was everything we could have hoped for and really enjoyed the quiet star filled evenings. The kids had fun playing games especially Ping Pong. The dogs loved the woods and exploring the scents of the mountain creatures. We hope to visit again soon.
Peaceful private getaway
My husband and I (and our dog) had a wonderful relaxing stay at stardust cottage. I think my favorite part were the peaceful mornings on the porch drinking coffee, reading or doing yoga. The setting was beautiful, the sounds of the running stream next to the cottage and the birds singing all day were so calming. The house sits at the end of a fun unpaved road, driving past some cute farms. It is very private. The flowers in the garden are beautiful and we used some of the herbs from the garden for some of our meals. The house is beautiful and very comfortable, while having all the conveniences you could need. (I'm so happy the house did not have a tv!) We did go into Asheville one day. It takes about 35 mins and is a easy drive. We hope to return to stardust in the future!
Kama and Ray's cottage is a perfect get away from the city life. We enjoyed the country setting and relaxing environment. The cottage is a nice, relaxing, updated place to stay. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay outside of the city! Thanks again for the great spot!

Silence and Serenity
Our stay was incredibly restorative! A beautiful home that is exquisitely cared for and loved. The surroundings were beautiful both inside and outdoors. Our dog loved retrieving balls and frisbees and frolicking in the creek. Best of all, NO TV!!!
Everything about the house and property is great if you're looking to escape and take a break from the burbs! Highly recommended!
simply wonderful! this is a wonfderful cottage to spend a relaxing time at.
We spent 8 days here and had a superb experience! The property owners were great in answering all our questions, we build a fire every night, ate in most meals, had plenty of peaceful time to simply relax or go out and walk or drive into town. Stardust was a heavenly place to stay!

“We bought this place as our primary residence and lived here for eleven years. We loved it from the minute we saw it and still do! Big Sandymush Valley is the best preserved farming valley in the southern Appalachians. Thousands of acres of conservation lands are adjacent to the property, organic farms are abundant here.”
Activity and Interests
Asheville is a sophisticated small city in a mountain valley in the southeastern United States. It's a very popular and well known tourist area. The city is very walkable with shops, galleries, and restaurants on every corner. Asheville is know for its foodie culture, including lots of vegetarian choices. The varied nightlife scene and many cultural activities and festivals will keep you busy if you like. The area is also known for its many artists and crafts people. Just south of downtown is the Biltmore House; the largest private residence in the USA. The house and its thousands of acres are open to the public. The Blue Ridge parkway also passes through the area. This is an incredibly scenic drive through the national forests in the area, with world class views, and many interesting stops along the way for hiking, picnicking, looking at waterfalls, or frolicking in the cool mountain streams.
Endless opportunities abound for rafting, rock climbing, and backwoods adventures if outdoors is your thing. There are two ski resorts, each about one hour from Stardust Cottage. Golf is also popular in the area. You can choose to be in the middle of the action, and then out in the middle of nowhere 15 min later!
Closer to Stardust cottage are several organic farms, including flowers and a nationally known herb farm. Potters and crafts people live tucked in their beautiful corner of Sandymush Valley.
Don't let our long backwoods private gravel drive fool you... a beautiful modern well appointed cottage awaits at the end!
