Experience Life at Maritime by Stay Alfred
Built in 1893, The Maritime building was recently fully renovated and converted into upscale residences. As the first skyscraper in New Orleans, the building is now on the National Register of Historic Places. During the renovation, traditional elements were preserved, giving this property both old and new charm.
Your condo features an open concept floorplan with large windows which make the space feel open and airy. The light, coffee colored bamboo floors, from the living room to the bedroom, glisten in the windows’ light. The kitchen is stunning, with dark wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. It is sure to make meal prep a treat.
This one bedroom, one bath condo offers a king size bed and queen size pull-out sofa bed to comfortably accommodate up to four people. A huge, bamboo sliding wall divides the bedroom from the living room.
There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy all the creature comforts of home. You’ll even have a washer and dryer at your disposal. Plenty of amenities are available throughout the building as well. The fitness center features a 'sky view' ceiling and sauna and steam rooms. To cool off, take a dip in the rooftop pool.
Exploring the city couldn’t be easier from the Maritime’s central New Orleans location. You are just a block from Canal Street and all the dining, shopping, and nightlife it has to offer. If you need more family friendly attractions, just hop on the trolley and head to the Canal Street Station. There you’ll find the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas which also has an IMAX theater. No matter what you are looking for, the Maritime puts you close to it all.
Let Stay Alfred host your next trip to New Orleans.

Really bad bed, but the condo itself was very nice.
The mattress was so bad you felt the springs when you lay down. My back is a mess thanks to that bad mattress. The couch had seen better days too.... It did not look to bad but when you sat down on it you knew it was at the end of its life. Also we were supplied with only two bath towels for two people for 4 days. The dryer in the unit did not work properly so we could not do laundry as planned for fear of not being able to dry our clothes. Bathroom was nice, but very little counter space, and while a tiny bottle of shampoo and conditioner were left in the shower, there was no regular body soap. The building had a nice well equipted gym , however there was a cockroach in the sauna. The location of the condo was excellent , and the condo and building itself was very nice, and very clean.
Loved this place
It was close to Bourbon Street and everything great about New Orleans.
Amazing NOLA Trip!
My fiancé and I had an amazing time! This was our first time in New Orleans and the location of the Maritime where we stayed was EVERYTHING. We literally walked everywhere and had such a great time. It was nice going to Bourbon street and not having to worry about finding a ride back to our room because we could just walk! 😁
For the most part, it was very nice.
The condo was functional, clean and for the most part very nice. There were a few issues. The bedside table lamp (twist) switch was missing, so that couldn't be used. The fridge door was banged up a bit. And, the temp in the condo didn't change regardless of the setting on the thermostat (not a big deal as it stayed right about 69-70). Other than that, the condo itself was fine. The noise from the street, which can't be controlled, was loud...at all hours. People screaming yelling is expected one block off Bourbon. What we didn't expect were all the sirens and the historic trolley 24 hrs a day, which sounds like a dumpster has been knocked over and is being drug down the street. All of this said, it was a nice place. I think, when we visit again, I would like a condo across the hall or on the north side of the building, just because those are much quieter.
1st Ever Mardi Gras!
Our unit was small but decorated very nicely. The location to Bourbon Street was excellent, only one block away! There were some issues with the water during our stay, on a couple of occasions we just didn't have any! The price we were charged did not warrant the property, it was Mardi Gras weekend though so it just is what is.
Family Christmas Trip
This condo was beautiful and exactly what we needed for our family at a great price. We were surprised to find ear plugs and sleeping masks waiting for us, as well as, a basket with some snacks and coffee. We were able to walk to a lot of the places we visited (the aquarium, French Quarter, French Market, Insectatarium, etc.). The rooftop pool was nice to have access too and was heated so we were able to swim even when it was about 55 degrees. We will definitely book this condo again on our next trip to New Orleans.
