Loved, loved, loved the kitchen, especially the island, and open floor plan. It was great having a TV in each room so we could separate if needed. The property is beautiful. We appreciated having the firewood if needed. It was also nice to have wifi
We had a great weekend at The Lodge! The house is perfect. It had everything we needed for a great time together. We will probably be back again next year!
We just checked out today so I wanted to write this while it was fresh on my mind. We rented this house for 3 nights in January 2017. 6 adults and 4 children. The house was very well appointed, they thought of everything! The kitchen was very well equipped, there were even spices for use if needed. My only suggestion would be to have a couple of sponges there, a new spatula and maybe 1 more serving bowl. But really, they even had a crock pot there. The fridge is a generous size, and the kitchen island was a great gathering spot for all.
Outdoor/Garage area: The hot tub is huge and was always at 102 degrees. The fire pit was great and we made a fire two nights. (Firewood available down the street) The garage had a ping pong table and we used it a few times and had a lot of fun. We did not take advantage of the hiking trails around the property.
Inside/main living areas: Ample dining space. Living room has cozy leather furniture that reclines. Wifi worked- it was slow at times but probably because we had several devices going. We did not use the fireplace in the living room.
Bedrooms: 4 ample bedrooms, the master was HUGE and had an insanely large bathroom! 2nd bedroom was a nice master, 3rd bedroom basic but nice, 4th bedroom with queen bunks was perfect for the kids, and the common bathroom had nice high ceilings.
Cleanliness: overall the house was very clean. No issues here
Driveway: this property is off a main road, the driveway is rock/dirt. Shouldn't be an issue 98% of the time. We had no problem at all getting to the house, I could see how a snow day may make access a little more difficult. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the Biltmore and 20 mins to downtown. There is an Ingles grocery store close by if you need necessities.
We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again. We really enjoyed our stay here!
We arrived in the dark and it was a shining beacon after a long day of travel. It was all lighted up and welcoming. Our group has rented many houses together and this, by far, was the best. It had everything stocked for us like toilet paper enough to last us a week, a hairdryer under every bathroom sink, liquid hand soap for each sink, liguid dish soap and dishwasher soap and even all laundry supplies. Rob the caretaker was ever so helpful even building us a fire one night in the pit. He came out immediately to fix a blown circuit. The beds were so comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. We loved the semicircle island that seated ten. We can't say enough nice things about the place. It was close to Asheville but so secluded. The driveway was bumpy and a little adventurous but manageable for us women. If we were in the area we would certainly rent it again. There is nothing we can say negative about the property.
Wow! This is the most awesome house for a mountain getaway. We went for three days with My father and mother in law and husband's sister, husband and children. Fun from the get go!! House is fully stocked for all your cooking needs. Plenty of room to relax together or with the entire family!! Hot tub is outrageous fun.. Left with plans of going same time next year. Truly fell in love with this place..
Comfortable accommodations hidden away in the mountains, large wood burning fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and good grill. Big Kitchen, great flat screen TV, good bedrooms and bathrooms, and plenty of room overall. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. A family of Bobcats outside our window on the last day was icing on this delicious cake.
The house was gorgeous, just as pictured and so clean. We had every amenity we could have needed or wanted. This was perfect for our girls trip, we each had our own room, everything appeard to be new or rennovated. Be aware that although it's not far from downtown it does take a good 20-25 minutes due to curvy and winding roads. We found so many wonderful restaurants in Asheville although parking was difficult so you may want to add an additional 5-10 minutes if you are going downtown. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend to others!
