Perfect! Great Value!

  • 5 of 5

This place was a great location, close to everything. It was awesome to just pull right up to the door to unload/load. The place was very spacious and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and that is important! It was very clean too. We did use the hot tub and were so pleased that it too was so clean!

As a bonus Joe was really good at making suggestions of things to do and that personal help was much appreciated, I felt like I had a personal travel assistant. He also had plenty of brochures and list in the apartment to read. He never made me feel like I was a pain when I asked for suggestions and so easy to work with. Our family did sightseeing south of town and also visited Biltmore (awesome place)!

We had a special treat one evening when we returned to hear beautiful guitar music and harmony's coming from his porch. He was practicing with his band/trio. We secretly sat below to listen... so nice! This made our experience even more memorable!

I would recommend Joe's place without hesitation and if we ever return to Asheville we will certainly return. So much value for such a reasonable price!

Nice and very convenient

  • 4 of 5

Location in W. Asheville excellent for all driving and for walking. Host very friendly, helpful, and upbeat. The furniture is clean and comfortable and the decor is cheery. It is a basement apartment so a couple rather loud dehumidifiers bothered me at first until we turned them off when we were home and back on again while we were away. As a basement apartment there is little natural light - great for sleeping late in the morning - but there are numerous lamps and lights to brighten the rooms.

We barely used the complete kitchen.

Good place to be close to everything

  • 4 of 5

This place is a basement apartment. The owner lives above. It's located about a 2-minute walk from the very popular West Asheville strip of restaurants, bars, and shops. It's only a few minutes drive to downtown Asheville. The place was clean and comfortable. You definitely know you're in a basement apartment as it is dark and cool, but hopefully you won't be spending much time there. You should be out & about! The things I didn't particularly like about it were: the hot tub is in the backyard and is surrounded by homes with lots of windows to look down on you. No privacy at all. It would have been nice to have soap in the bathroom and maybe minimal spices in the kitchen. Also, the microwave in the kitchen is the smallest I've ever seen. You can't put a plate in it! The television in the living room is also very small. Overall, however, it's a fine place to stay and Joe, the owner, is very pleasant. I would recommend this place if you want to stay in town.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review. We might point out to future guests that the unit has functional windows that open in every room, including bedrooms, plenty of lighting, and modern heating and cooling, so no reason for it to feel "dark and cool" as you say. Also, the hottub is surrounded by a six foot privacy screen, in addition to a six foot privacy fence that conpletely surrounds the property. Keep in mind that you are in the middle of the city so, yes, you are surrounded by other houses.
