Why Maggie Johnston chose Double Springs
We bought this place for the pure joy of owning a remote piece of Nature on the banks of Clear Creek!
What makes this Cottage unique
There is nothing quite like communing with nature in a beautiful place near a moving stream. You will find it valuable to spend some quiet time just sitting on the porch or gazebo and listening to nature!

River Art Cabin
Property is as advertised. Excellent get away if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Cabin is nice and well cared for. Gazebo a short walk away. Creek requires a longer walk but worth it. Would definitely return.
this property is breath taking, secluded, get back to nature.we loved our stay and we will go back for another stay. I think the only thing missing would be a hot tub on that big front porch we enjoyed the secret beach and stream and the kazibo over looking the stream below very much needed connection time with my wife we loved it. cant wait to return.
Ultimate Back to Nature
My family and I love this peaceful retreat! If you really want to connect to the natural world and find a peaceful respite without interference from the outside, this should be your destination. The river is lovely and Sara Jane can’t wait to come back for more river swimming!
Great anniversary weekend!
My husband and I enjoyed our 23rd anniversary here! It was so relaxing. Very quiet and peaceful! We floated down the creek and enjoyed walking the mountain laurel trail. The secret beach was another great way to enjoy taking in the beautiful scenery. The porches and gazebo were nice places to relax too! We also prepared a few meals in the well equipped kitchen. We would like to come back and visit during the Spring to see the mountain laurel!
Relaxing and peaceful setting yet the kids still had fun.
Everyone loved the secret beach and gazebo. Short easy walk to gazebo. Enjoyed coffee there in the morning and cool drinks there in the afternoon. The view at the secret beach is amazing. It rivals views you would get in any state or national park and is right there on the property. The kids enjoyed tubing on the creek. The wife and myself just sit a beach chair in the creek and stayed cool while enjoying the sounds and views. Hope to come back soon. It was beautiful in the summer but I bet the fall is unbelievable. Go check out Kinlock Falls and Caney Creek Falls if you have never been.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I agree that the area is spectacular. Giant sandstone Bluffs, beautiful him locks and mountain laurel. Most people don’t know what a treasure we have in Alabama!
Magical place, magical location
The house is in a wonderful, peaceful location perfect for nature retreat. It is clean and well cared for and very cozy. Highly recommend!
Tubing on Clear Creek, miles of walking or mountain biking trails, hiking and backpacking in the famous Sipsey Wilderness Area, sitting in the gazebo overlooking the shoals of Clear Creek with a glass of wine or cup of coffee!
