About Nick Argento and Judy Lark
We are a retired couple who love sailing and travel. Breton Cove and the surrounding community has been our home since 1996.
Nick Argento and Judy Lark purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2003
Why Nick Argento and Judy Lark chose Breton Cove
We chose this property because it is a well constructed house with passive solar and other environmental qualities. In addition it is situated in one of the friendliest and most socially varied communities in Cape Breton.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
The house features a central atrium which gives it an open concept feel, yet there are numerous nooks and crannies to snuggle in.Original artwork adorn the house. Outside, the thyme lawns are surrounded by birch, spruce, and maples. The long gravel drive curves down to the world famous Cabot Trail. It is centrally located to Cabot Trail attractions and is nearly equidistant to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park and Baddeck. Our home is a scent free environment for allergy relief.

Cape Breton experience
Exceptionally clean and well equipped! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. The hurricane was an added excitement! Thanks Nick
This home is in a beautiful location and has access to the most beautiful parts of Cape Breton. The rural area adds to its charm. The fully equipped kitchen and reading materials about the area left for guests were helpful and interesting. We enjoyed St. Andrews in Tarbot on Sunday, the Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck, and attending a local ceilidh down the road, too.
As far as trails go, Middle Head was our favorite. Hiking temps were great----55 to 75 degrees! Cabot Trail affords many breathtaking views. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Incredible stay in Cape Breton
Everything about the stay was beyond what we imagined. The place was absolutely perfect (especially the kitchen and living room) with beautiful art hanging throughout the house. Communication with the owner was great, with many great conversations and always there when we needed something along with some great recommendations. Can't wait to stay here again!
The House on the Hill
Exactly as advertised. The pictures actually don't do it justice. We enjoyed a week of peace and quiet! The home is very clean and comfortable. Very quaint and cozy. Nick was available when needed, which was not much. The area has some very interesting artisans, especially the glass blowers and the home-made chocolates. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you NIck and Judy!
Lovely home in Cape Breton
This quiet, clean, well-equipped home is ideally located along the Cabot Trail just south of Ingonish. Our host was very welcoming. I would highly recommend this property to couples or families wanting a quiet place to relax or a home base from which to explore this lovely island. We hope to return one day.
A great beautiful, quiet place to stay.
We loved this location. We arrived late at night after midnight and Nick went out of his way to go to the bottom of the driveway and flash his lights. We loved the 4 seasons porch in the mornings sitting out there with our coffee and books. We flew and did some hiking so had to have lots of gear. It was so helpful with all the amenities that we needed there and available to us. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to Cape Breton. Thanks Nick and Judy.
