A Memorable Week

  • 5 of 5

I am not very good at planning trips as much as I love to travel. I worry about the unknown.Traveling with my family means I become the scapegoat if things don't work out. I am happy to say this one really worked out. Andrew was extremely helpful with any questions or concerns that I had. He was quick to get back to me each and every time I had a new question.Upon arriving at 'our home away from home ', we found a quiet but welcoming surrounding. The neighbor was friendly and we met others staying in the building who were fun as well. The condo itself was very updated and had what was necessary for our stay. We truly enjoyed the space and can't say enough about the large balcony which is where we spent most of our time while at home. Andrew was accommodating with list of restaurant suggestions. We did experience some of those ,but I would have to say there may not be bad food on the Island. Everywhere we ate had exceptional food. He also helped with a suggested list of beaches and I know we hit everyone and then some. Each was unique and more beautiful than the other. My comments since I have been home is ,"I definitely plan to go back". Grand Cayman is a bit of Paradise. Although we are not divers, we could see divers from our balcony daily. I would say a car is needed for this location.

One of the BEST Decisions This Year!

  • 5 of 5

**This year's summer vacation in Grand Cayman was absolutely fantastic and one of the main reasons was due to Andrew's Condo... The pictures don't do this place justice, as the new travertine floors, marble counter tops and new stainless steel appliances were gorgeous and the former definitely helped to keep the place cool. The view from the room to the ocean is beautiful and overlooks the pool. There is one building in front between the condo and the ocean but it doesn't block your view of 7 mile beach and other ocean views.

**Having rented a few condos at various locations around the world this has by far been the best. It's always interesting to open the door and see what lies before you as you walk in. This was an absolute gem and again, the description of the place and pictures don't do it justice. It was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed.

**Andrew himself was great to work with to coordinate this vacation as well. I spoke to him prior to booking and he provided a huge amount of information over the phone and answered all of the questions my wife and I had. After we booked he sent us multiple emails which outlined exactly how to get there, how to get in, where the keys are, etc. Andrew also provided recommendations on Rental Cars, Restaurants and Diving. We ended up using Andy's Rental Car as I wanted something near the airport since we had an 8 o'clock a.m. departure time and I just wanted to be able to arrive early enough to park the car, drop the key off in the night drop box and walk to the airport. Andy's was great, as they provided everything we needed and the walk from the airport to the rental car office was literally about 100 yds. Sure made it easy.

**A note about the West Bay area of Grand Cayman that the condo is in: This area was fantastic due to the location not being right on top of all the hype of the downtown crowds... It was close to many restaurants that were delicious and close. Don't miss Macabuca's. About a four minute drive.

**Diving - Well, this was why we were there for our son's 16th Birthday... Andrew reco'd Cayman Diving to us (formerly Diver's Down) and we booked multiple dives with them. What a great experience... they picked us up in the morning and provided VIP service the whole way. The dive shop and the folks working there were top notch.

**We can't say enough about Andrew's Condo... If we went back to Grand Cayman again, we'd be giving Andrew a yell to stay there again!

What an amazing vacation and condo!

  • 5 of 5

We are so glad we chose Andrew's condo at Bonnie's Arches! Being previous owners of a vacation condo in Kauai, are expectations are high. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with the condo and interaction th Andrew! From the moment I spoke with Andrew, I knew we made a great choice. We received such awesome, detailed information not only the condo and the area but also recommdations for places to see and visit, restaurants, activities, beaches, etc.

The condo is wonderful. Fully equipped with everything! Even beach chairs, beach mat and a cooler. The 2 bedrooms and 2 baths are both well kept, linens are amazing and the beds comfortable. The high end appliances and furniture were unexpcted. We cooked several meals and the kitchen has everything imaginable!

The balcony is very spacious and we spent every morning drinking our coffee watching the cruise ships come in and the dive boats anchoring close by. The condo complex is small so very quiet and the neighbor was so nice. Great restaurants close by and away but not too far from 7 Mile Beach.

Would highly recommend this unit. We would love to go back and even though it would probably just be the two of us, we would still rent this condo.

Thanks, Andrew!!

Owner's Response: Pam, thank you so much for submitting such a personal review!! I couldn't be more proud. You have credited me so many times with things that have made your vacation so special. I do try really hard for each and every one of our guests. Maybe it is because I am trained in Public Safety and not the hospitality industry that I feel the need to go the extra mile for our guests. This year will mark 25 years since I started helping people in the community and I feel like I am just getting started. I did know that this stay was going to be a hard one to compare with your experiences owning a place in Kauai, Hawaii. Your willingness to share your experiences have helped me grow with ideas and considerations I never would have dreamed of. I am greatly appreciative of your advice and wisdom. I would be guessing without the feedback of the people who matter most, our guests. Travelers who read this review will probably be the most interested in what you said about the location and how well positioned it is. It was really the reason why we chose this property ourselves! We are close to all the spots you want to be on Seven Mile Beach, yet far enough to be a bastion of peace and "Quiet Relaxation" (as our Community Association By-Laws describe it). Google Earth says that we are only 8.9 miles from the Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM), 0.9 miles to the closest part of Seven Mile Beach (and some of our guest's favorite beach) and between 2.3 and 3.4 miles from the heart of it, depending on your opinion of where the heart is. Our recommendations include seeing all the beautiful beaches, not just one and enjoying what is close by while you are there. Whether you enjoy a coffee to watch sunrise or a glass of wine to watch the sunset, knowing where to be and when to be there is the key. We also recommend visiting all the restaurants, cafe's and hot spots and visiting all of our must-see Snorkel and Dive spots. We want to give you every experience (good and bad) we have had so you can decide what is in your taste. Knowing a little helps you get into that show you wanted to see on the day that it is free!!! I hope you are able to return to our "Little Slice of Paradise" in Grand Cayman. We will certainly be welcoming you back with open arms. Our discount are only a small token of how much you mean to us, but they are the ones that make it possible for you to return... sooner.

Spacious, spotless and spectacular!!!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening cocktails while listening to the waves and watching dive boats and cruise ships from the large comfortable balcony of this spacious, modern condo that overlooks a beautiful pool. The kitchen has all new appliances and is as fully equipped as most restaurants. The unit has been well maintained and the beds are very comfortable. You are minutes away from diving, fine dining and grocery stores. All you need to bring is a swimsuit and sunscreen. Everything for a wonderful vacation is here!!!

Owner's Response: WOW!!! Thank you so much for submitting this review! I can actually picture myself right there with your beautifully descriptive writing. This is just the kind of experience that we want our guests to have. We couldn't be happier to know that you had such a great time. I think travelers will be able to take quite a bit from your review. For one, those dive boats are choosing our reefs to dive and snorkel on because everyone knows that the Northwest Point is the best place for this. After doing quite a bot of diving out back over the past decade, I can tell you that I have never seen the reef so healthy! The elk horn corals are coming in everywhere and the fluffy looking soft corals waive everywhere in the gentle surge. The damage we expected from the Lion fish was quickly put under control by the Dept of Environment's Lion fish hunting program. There is fish life everywhere! Thank you for mentioning how nice it is to enjoy the lanai. The new Travertine Stone flooring was a HUGE improvement. We thank our fantastic HOA Executive Board for allowing us to complete this project and the best tile company on the Island for completing the work with such attention to detail! We also are happy that the new appliances were a success. Samsung is a trusted appliance brand now creating the hottest technology available. The Black Stainless Steel was a real risk though since it is just recently developed and marketed. We hoped that our guests would love it as much as we did in the showroom. I couldn't believe the difference over the painted white appliances. The additional ice making capacity will also be evident over the 2004 technology. I was also crazy about the blue LED lighting on the dishwasher! It reminds me of the robot from "Lost in Space" as a kid. Potential travelers will also find your notes on the location helpful. Knowing that you are close to everything you want is important. We still recommend that our guests rent a car when traveling to Grand Cayman. The idea of walking to Grand Cayman's fantastic beach spots sounds romantic until you consider carrying all the things that make a great day at the beach. Plus, our special relationship with the best Car Rental Agency on the island makes the idea of a car rental another cost saving reason to choose our property! We cant thank you enough for your beautiful review! We hope to add you to our growing list of returning guests. Until then... enjoy wherever your travels take you.

Paradise Just Keeps Getting Better!!

  • 5 of 5

We recently had the pleasure of returning to the Barron's incredible condo at Bonnie’s Arch. After our first visit a couple of years ago, there was no doubt we would be back! This spacious condo has all the amenities and is in the perfect location… a quiet community just a short drive from the action of Seven Mile Beach, countless restaurants, beaches & island activities. I highly recommend staying here if you want to enjoy a nice, relaxing vacation OR if you want to stay in the perfect location to “dive, dive, dive until you drop!"

Since we had previously stayed in this condo, we thought we knew what to expect when we got there. Much to our surprise, Andrew was actually on the island making major improvements to the unit! He came out and greeted us when we arrived at the condo. (It was great to meet you, Andrew!) Andrew is incredibly hospitable and he showed us around the unit, pointing out all the new updates since our last visit. He just installed brand new high-end kitchen appliances, upgraded the living room furniture to include a sleeper sofa, purchased new guest bedroom furniture, added a flat-screen T.V. In each of the bedrooms, and had beautiful travertine tile installed on both the front entry and balcony patios. WOW! It is absolutely gorgeous!

Andrew is a phenomenal host. He provided all the detailed information needed to plan a perfect vacation to the island. He has great recommendations for beaches, restaurants, activity operators, etc. Andrew was always prompt in answering our questions, both before and during our visits. On this trip, Andrew recommended an incredible dive operator. We used Cayman Diving for quite a few boat dives during our week on the island. I can’t recommend them enough! They gave us a great rate (tell them you’re staying with Andrew at Bonnie’s Arch!) and the staff was wonderful!

The Barron’s Little Slice of Paradise is the perfect place to spend your vacation on Grand Cayman. We are absolutely hooked, and once you stay in this fabulous condo, you will be too!

Owner's Response: WOW!!! You are such an amazing writer! We couldn't pay to have such a beautiful review written. Thank you so much for taking the time to submit this. I think travelers who read this review will quickly note that this is the place to be in Grand Cayman. I am so flattered at all the wonderful things you said about me here! This was the first time I have had the pleasure of welcoming a guest into their stay. We had so many conversations and emails, but meeting you two was way better than I could have expected! I really try hard to make up for the fact that I am just guessing my way through this. I grow from each experience, whether positive (like yours) or when I have something to learn or improve. At the heart of every decision is trying to do the very best for our guests and not just the best that the industry offers. Travelers may also pick up that the Northwest Point is THE place for diving in Grand Cayman. If you like to dive you are in good company with us. Because we lived on the island (in this home) for so many years we established resources and contacts that others can now benefit from. From our Partners in Diving to our Partnerships with the very best Car Rental Agency on the island we want to make our friends your friends. It truly is a Diver's Paradise, right in your own back yard! Thank you for mentioning the upgrades. The appliances make a beautiful design statement and the modern technology makes every part of the purchase an investment. We generate Ice faster and store more of it, gone are the problems of the old dishwasher and the double oven makes better use of energy and more precise baking. My favorite upgrade was the new Bernhardt Sleeper Sofa. While I think that few adults will consider it a luxurious week-long sleep option, I definitely think that it will give families with children an option to travel together while maintaining privacy for everyone. The trampoline style support (not a spring or wire support) and high thread count sheets will provide the very best sleep you can get in a sleeper sofa. I cant end this response without thanking you for becoming one of our returning guests. I truly think of this growing number as a barometer of what we are doing right. I promise you that I will continue supporting our returning guests and providing our Returning Guest Discounts package (a group of 3 discounts only available to our returning guests). Thank you so much and I look forward to your next visit! Sincerely, Andrew

Bonnie's Arch Has It All!!!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful and ideal location! Close to all recreational and shopping locations yet private and personal. Andrew did an excellent job of prefacing our trip with all of the information that we needed regarding the condo and nearby surrounding activities, shopping and outstanding local restaurants. His attention to making sure your stay goes perfect is beyond what you would expect anywhere else! The condo itself is spacious and roomy with all the modern amenities you could ask for, plus! The living/gathering room area kitchen is open and roomy with all the modern appliances and accessories you could ever need. The washer and dryer are especially nice with extra-large capacities and quiet operation. The beds were very comfortable and the bed linens....well you have to slide under those sheets yourself to experience the comfort! The individual bathrooms are very clean with all modern upgrades and very roomy tiled showers. We especially liked the mounted glass bowl sink in the master bath. The accommodations on site included an awesome view from the second floor, beautifully maintained property and pool. The outside lanai facing the Caribbean Sea and overlooking the pool was a perfect gathering spot every morning and evening. The lighted tennis court and indoor air conditioned racquetball courts were awesome! And even better, Andrew keeps a nice supply of racquets and balls in the condo. The best part of the location for us was the absolutely stunning ocean views and sunsets that can be experienced from the sea wall on the property. The access points (x2) to the water have been nicely carved out from the rocks and cemented with steps and a large gathering area where you can lounge in the sun or use as an access point utilizing the very user friendly ladder that gets you in and out of the most beautiful, gin clear waters I have ever dived! Bonnie's Arch reef and several other reef locations are a very short swim from this access point. It is so beautiful and popular that we often viewed dive boats anchored to the buoys right out back. A divers paradise right in your backyard! I could write a short book regarding the island and all the great activities, dining and wonderful people we met. It is a location that you must experience for yourself, as it defies a justified description in writing. Again, Andrew is the consummate host and we can't thank him enough for providing us with an unforgettable vacation stay! Hope to return soon!

From the Owner

Well, you only have the enter the flightpath to Grand Cayman to see why we chose here. This idyllic little island is gorgeous! Grand Cayman is also the most stable foreign government in the Caribbean. It is safe, luxurious and VIP savvy. When you are here, they really make you feel special. The location and ammentities in Bonnie's Arch made it the only choice for us. We are avid scuba divers and the diving in our back yard is phenominal! We can dive everyday for free! We have lived here day in and day out for 4 and a half years. Now we are following different dreams and providing for our children's futures. Selling would mean the end to our wonderful begining so we plan to return as often as possible to relive our adventurous beginnings. Hopefully you will fall in love with Bonnie's Arch like we have and want to return again and again.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Owens Roberts International at 8.9 Miles Nearest Barpub : Macabuca/Cracked Conch at 0.6 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Cracked Conch/Macabuca at 0.6 Miles Nearest Beach : Northwest Point Beach at 0.9 Miles

The Top 10 must see attractions in Grand Cayman:

1) Stingray City-Swim with a feed huge Caribbean stingrays with the safety of expert guides.

2) Dolphin Discovery/Dolphin Cove-An eco-friendly dolphin experience where you get to swim with, touch and experience one-on-one time with these wonderful creatures. Each has its own theme and is a completely different experience.

3) Cayman Turtle Farm-See these beautiful sea turtles up close, hold baby turtles, feed the daddy and granddaddy turtles, swim in the water park and see the amazing predator tank with live sharks!

4) Scuba Dive the Kittiwake-Of course all scuba diving in the Cayman Islands is great but this is special. At only 20-50 feet, you get a brand new wreck that is anything but! No storm damage, completely intact and ready for safe exploration. The steering wheel is even there for photo time!

5) Rum Point-Need I say more? Idyllic beach covered with natural and man-made shade, crystal clear water, wonderful lunches and did I mention RUM!!!? Most people fall for the mudslide and who wouldn't? But try the Pink Sand Beach with Coconut run instead of the vodka and you have found your beach side drink.

6) Red Sail Catamaran Tours-Dont feel like driving to Rum Point? How about sailing a 100' bright white catamaran on the gorgeous blue sea. The only thing better than the destination is the journey!

7) Queen Elizabeth's Botanical Park-All the native Flora and Fauna of the Caribbean can be found here. It is the refuge for the last known Blue Iguanas on the planet. With less than 20 remaining, it is better to see them now than miss them entirely.

8) Hike the Mastic Trail-See the geology that formed the Cayman Islands before the road and airports and buildings were placed. This is the real Cayman Islands. Its free but you may want to avoid this during summer months.

9) See the East End Blowholes-Along the coastline of the East End (Eastern Coast) is a geologic site. The wave water pressurizes through a small hole in the rock and out sprays something similar to 'Old Faithful'! Only, this one happens a couple times a minute. You can get pictures here if you are patient. Just listen for the telltale sounds....

10) Seven Mile Beach-Although locals refer to it as West Bay Public Beach, this beautiful stretch of sand attracts more tourists than all the banks combined. It is easy to miss general cruise ship tourist traffic and Sundays all the locals spend their days there.

11) Governor's Beach-I know it was a Top Ten list but Governor's Beach is worth it! It is right next door to the Governor's house and you know he would only pick the very best spot. This beach has the whitest sand, the clearest water and the calm water the west coast is known for.

****Guests at our property get all the insider tourist notes on these and many more must see, must do and must eat spots. Contact us and get started with planning your vacation in Grand Cayman with people who have lived and worked there for 5 years. We help with more than just your housing!******

From the Owner

We are both very active and spend the weekends using the facilities. We have hundreds of hours in the racquetball and tennis courts. I am still trying to beat my wife at at least one game!!! Being avid divers, we spend time out back doing wall dives at our favorite site, Big Tunnel. Once you come in from a dive, quickly rinse your gear at the hose and head straight for a quick dip in the pool with a cold drink in your hand. We are close to everything, but not too close to be bothered by the traffic and noise. The nights are filled with stars and the lights from Seven Mile Beach. Frequently, you can watch a fireworks show on Seven Mile Beach from the balcony. You just cant ask for any more!
