Quintessential and hospitable Tunbridge
This home was THE perfect place for us, three yarn hoarders, to attend fiber workshops and the The Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival. Well appointed, quiet, secure, and inspite of it being early October it was warm enough on Saturday evening to sit out and enjoy the view of sunset from the deck while we tried out some new yarn and new techniques from the workshops. Gail is a responsive and friendly hostess. We are looking forward to booking again to attend next year's festival.
We had a great experience at this house. Our family of four enjoyed the space and took advantage of the beautiful setting to do lots of artwork and play a million games. The store down the road had what we needed and was a nice place to stop and chat with the locals. Star gazing was phenomenal! Definitely don’t miss it. The beds tend toward the firm end of the range, so that’s something to be aware of. The kitchen was very well appointed. We cooked our own meals for a week and never wanted for anything in terms of kitchen gear. The driveway is a little steep, so don’t be timid coming up it! The owners provide several fans and there is an air conditioning in the kitchen/living room area. The temps were quite pleasant.
For a summer visit I suggest a trip to the nearby Old City Falls. It’s an extremely short hike to the falls where you can get in the water and splash around in the waist deep pool. Excellent way to cook off!
The view from the porch is fabulous -rolling hills, big sky, and a town nestled in the valley. The house is comfortable, clean, and well- stocked. Thank you for a delightful week.
Nice quiet house up on a hill!
We've stayed here a few times now and really love the property and its privacy. No TV so good conversation instead.
Great weekend spot
The house was lovely. We went for a weekend trip during the winter and it was beautiful. There was a hammock, basketball hoop and a good selection of movies. We would definitely recommend. The only thing is that the driveway is a bit steep so our car couldn’t quite make it up the hill without 4 wheel drive on the ice/snow; but Gail was super helpful in remedying the situation.
Perfect Vermont Christmas
My wife and I had a perfect three days over Christmas in Gail and Dominique’s house. Driving through beautiful Tunbridge over the covered bridge and up the curvy mountain road to a really cute and comfortable home nestled in the mountains overlooking the town was an amazing experience. The house had everything you needed, we brought groceries and were able to prepare some fantastic meals as the kitchen was very well equipped. On Christmas Eve, it snowed and we walked around the amazing mountain property and saw a few deer. Great area for our dog to run around and play, she enjoyed the getaway as well. I would highly recommend this house and the location is central to anything you would want to do or you could just enjoy the quiet and beauty of this great locale.
