About Jim and Lisa Franceschini
We have been mountain lovers since we married 25 years ago and are realizing our dream of building and renting mountain cabins in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Last year we met a gifted and extraordinarily talented builder who has built three cabins for us. The White Pine Loft is the most recent one completed and we feel truly blessed to call it ours and are excited to be able to share it with others!
Jim and Lisa Franceschini purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Jim and Lisa Franceschini chose Stanley
This property is nestled half way up Roundhead Mountain, offering both wooded privacy and seasonal mountain views. It satisfies the vacationer looking for a wooded retreat as well as the vacationer looking for views of and access to all that the Shenandoah Valley offers.
What makes this Cabin unique
This cabin is incredibly special, romantic, and different with its cathedral ceiling, white pine interior, and lofted bedroom. The property is nestled half way up Roundhead Mountain, offering both wooded privacy and seasonal mountain views.

Everything was just as we expected we had a great time
Wonderful Anniversary Weekend
We had a wonderful time. The cabin was very clean and inviting. The location was very nice. Secluded yet close to the grocery store which was nice for getting food to cookout on the grill. We drove to Skyline Drive and enjoyed some hiking and amazing views.
The White Pine Loft was a great get-away. As expected from reading other reviews, the cabin was very clean. Even though it was quite warm during our stay, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and on the porch in the shade after zip-lining and kayaking. We even had a special treat of picking blackberries which are growing right along the drive up to the cabins. Lisa was very helpful before our stay providing us with information and places to explore. Thank you again for opening your place to us. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Cabin on the middle of nowhere
Neat and tidy cabin in a remote setting surrounded by woods. Nice to have a/c , hot tub , full bath, downside is bedroom is upstairs in a loft with limited headspace and closets.
Just want to be sure future guests have an accurate understanding of the upstairs - the "loft" is an actual second story with cathedral ceiling in the center and only limited headspace on the far right and left sides closest to the exterior walls. And don't think you're too far in the middle of nowhere, there's Shenandoah Natl Park, Luray Caverns, Shenandoah River, and lots more within 10 minutes. But it does offer a wonderful "escape" feeling as it is very rural and unpopulated here!
This cabin more than met my expectations! Very clean and cozy. We absolutely would recommend it to anyone.
We had an AMAZING time! The loft was absolutely beautiful and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The views were breathtaking! We even had two deer out front the first morning we were there! Will definitely be back!
There are a million things to do in the Shenandoah Valley area!! Luray Caverns (10 minutes from the home) and Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive (15 minutes) are 'must do' items. The Park offers gorgeous drives, overlooks, hiking, biking, and ranger-led activities.
Luray (10 minutes) offers the Hawksbill Greenway (fantastic walking/biking along a rushing creek), plenty of shopping and dining, mini golf, 18 hole golf courses, zip lines, horseback riding, and more. Lake Arrowhead (10 minutes) offers fishing, boating, BBQ facilities, and swimming/relaxing at the beach area. Hawksbill Recreation Area (5 minutes) offers an outdoor pool and BBQ area. Spectacular canoeing/kayaking/tubing along the Shenandoah River (up to Class 2 Rapids) is available on your own or through several area Outfitters. Wineries (closest is two miles from the cabin), antique shopping, shooting ranges, jet skiing, off-roading, outdoor concerts and festivals, and even a zoo are all within half an hour or less. Want to drive a little further? Presidential homes, Civil War sites, and Harrisonburg and Charlottesville are all 30-60 minutes away. Of course, if all you want is to stay at the cabin and relax with good food, a good book, and beautiful scenery, downtown Stanley (2 miles) offers a grocery store and a couple great restaurants.
The Visitor's Center in Luray is an excellent source of additional area information.
