One of the best locations in Paris on the right bank steps to famous Saint Honoree! This wonderful flat is approximately 70 sq/ m is located on rue de la Sourdière very close to the Tuileries, the Louvre, Palais Royal, Avenue de l'Opera and Place Vendome!. The unit is conveniently located on the first floor (actually second level) with no elevator. This home is ideal for a short visit or an extended stay in Paris. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare the delights discovered at the numerous local farmers markets or nearby grocery stores. The dining area room is large with a table comfortably seating 6 people and a living room with two sofas ( not a sofa bed) and ornamental fireplace. An outstanding feature is the two baths…one a full bath with shower, toilet and sink while the master suite provides its own toilet and sink. The master suite also features a double closets and a king size bed! The second bedroom has queen size but plus ample closet space. Both bedrooms look upon small courtyard areas while the public rooms overlook a quit street which is only steps to Saint Honoree suited for all your shopping pleasures for either fine restaurants, high end good or amazing monuments.

Terry purchased this apartment in 1998
From my perspective, the best ways to see Paris are by bus and on foot. Staying at Terry and Marie's comfortable and centrally located apartment on Rue Sourdière in the 1e was perfect for me and and what I like to do: casually walk the streets from morning 'til night, greeting the familiar sites as one would an old friend, and marvelling at the newly bumbled-upon surprises that abound around this corner and down that "passage".
I spent 17 nights, from March 14-31, in the flat on the one-way street that is Sourdière, and would return again in a heartbeat. Opening the front door to the 1st floor apartment (2nd floor in France) takes you past a small kitchen area that has everything needed for making a few meals at home. A beautifully furnished dining room and living room area follows, the latter with a small tv (French language stations only...how much tv are you really gonna watch? And it'll help your listening/comprehension skills!) and a bookshelf loaded with everything from the classics to French/European travel.
The two bedrooms, both off the street at the back of the flat, are larger than many I've seen in Paris, with plenty of closet space and chest o' drawers. I can only vouch for the one queen bed I slept in, and let me tell you, after "flaneuring" ("aimless meandering") around the city all day, I'd get into bed and it was, "goodnight ladies!" Of course, soaking in a hot bathtub while sipping some wine and mulling over the next day's possibilities beforehand did not hinder the cause, either. This from a notoriously light/poor sleeper.
The majority of the main sites of Paris are within walking distance of the flat. But just one block away is Avenue de L'Opera and access to buses that run north to Montmartre and south to Montparnasse (95); the 27 goes to the Left Bank and the Luxembourg Gardens area; and the 68 will drop you off at Denfert-Rochereau and the catacombs, also on the LB. Other key routes run past Concorde and Palais Royal, both but a stone's throw away from the flat.
Ok, a downside? Depends on your perspective. As Terry tells you from the getgo, instructions for the washer/dryer combo are in French. I didn't want to chance screwing something up, so I did laundry around the corner at the laundromat at Place du Marché St. Honoré (@7€50 wash/dry🤙🏼). The commode in the principal bathroom is "special", as the owner warns. Follow the instructions, that's all.
Rent this place and you will not be sorry.

This apartment was on a lovely street close to all the sights! There were places very close to get any supplies you needed. The bedrooms were ample size and the queen size beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied and a few nice touches were left by Mr Terry. There was a shopping cart for groceries and an umbrella and hat if needed. Mr. Terry stopped by to introduce himself and give us some hints on Paris. There were tons of guide books and maps to use in the living room. The metro is very close. We walked everywhere because things were so close. The restaurant on St Roche was so close and the food was wonderful. Mr Terry had an information sheet that was so helpful both when checking in and for use in town.
We choose this apartment because it was quite charming and very “Parisian”. We were very happy with our choice!
The apartment has two bedrooms with comfortable beds and TWO bathrooms! There is one full bathroom in the hall and a half bath (toilet and sink) in the master bedroom. This was the perfect arrangement! The kitchen was fully functional with dishwasher and washing machine and all the appliances. The living room was warm and inviting after a long day walking in Paris. There are many Paris tour guide books available to read and learn and to help you plan your stay.
The location was amazing. We could walk to a couple different Metro stops and the Louvre was close by which was a drawing factor for the location. We also discovered it was within walking distance to the tourism office, and the Big Bus Tour that we wanted to take.
Terry is a very good communicator and quickly answered any questions we had throughout our stay. Check in and check out was flexible and easy. He sent us information on nearby restaurants and ATMs and other helpful information which made our stay easy. The apartment is one story up and we had no problems getting our luggage up or down the stairs. And it sure beat many of the apartments on the 5th floor without lifts that were advertised here.
This apartment is highly recommended.
What else could you expect for valentine s day...??? The apartment is very well located and the space is clean well equipped and easy to manage. On the second floor was not an issue car easy. The contact with the owner was very good and we like the informations he sent to us about restaurants and the life in Paris. the location let you enjoy a lot of the major spots of the city of lights... I will recommand and come back.
it was one of our best trip and apartment. Everything was there, the host, very nice and easy to work with, the apartment, we enjoyed the mixt between oldfashion furniture and the modern kitchen, the fireplace and French style, it was clean and fresh, the location was amazing never used the transportation, tried restaurants from recommandation of Terry, we would like to come back and stay again..Thank you
The pros are Terry is very nice and easy to work with, and the apartment is just blocks from the Louvre in a great location, and the price is reasonable. The down side is the building has no elevator, the interior of the building is dark and smells funky, and the apartment needs updating i.e., bedding, towels, and décor don't look fresh. It was fine for our purposes but we probably would not stay here again.
