Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom 800 sq ft cottage

ever getting into your car. The closest major attraction is the Mission of Nombre De Dios & La Leche Shrine thCharming Quarterman Cottage is an 800 square foot house with 2 queen bedrooms and 1 bathroom that is located on historic Bernard Street in downtown St. Augustine. Built in 1903 and recently updated, this cottage offers the perfect St. Augustine experience for any visitor of any age. Wonderful screened porch on the rear of the house that looks out into the private backyard is a great place to enjoy the temperate northern Florida weather with dinner, drinks, and friends.

You will find that you are perfectly positioned to enjoy all that the Old City has to offer without ever getting in your car. You will find many locals walking their dogs, drinking coffee, and watching the sunrise there in the mornings, as we love to enjoy our own city as much as you will enjoy it. Even some of the furthest downtown attractions, like the Dow Museum of Historic Homes, is only a 20 minute walk from Quarterman Cottage. Quarterman Cottage is perfectly positioned in Uptown between historic Downtown and North City. If you walk east to San Marco from Quarterman Cottage, you will see Mission of Nombre De Dios & La Leche Shrine directly in front of you. If you turn right (south) on San Marco, you will walk through the antique uptown district and back in time to historic downtown St. Augustine. If you turn left (north), you will find the original Fountain of Youth, the Old Jail, and other beautiful, traditional historic Florida monuments.

The property was clean and the appliances were modern and in working order. Bathroom has been remodeled and is very nice.

Great historic cottage right in the middle of everything

  • 5 of 5

This historic cottage is beautifully restored and a little less than a mile walk to St. George Street. Very clean, plenty of towels. The 2 queen Beds were comfy. The notebooks provided that tell the history of the cottage, along with suggestions for dining were a nice touch.

Centrally located, but needs some work

  • 3 of 5

The home is very centrally located to attractions in St. Augustine. This made it very convenient. The size was perfect for our needs. It was relatively clean, but more attention should be given to details. The kitchen trash can had clearly not been cleaned in quite a while and it bothered me that sheets from the previous guest were still in the dryer. No laundry supplies were available so don't be fooled by the picture. There were plenty of towels, but some are definitely overdue for replacement. The screened porch is a nice feature if weather permits you to use it. But some of the porch furniture needs to be repaired /replaced and the back yard is a hot mess. We had a problem with ants in the kitchen, but this can happen anywhere from time to time so was not a huge thing to us. Parking is very minimal. We could barely park our truck in front. This could be a really nice place with a little more attention given to detail. We were a bit disappointed.

Nice property but missing details

  • 3 of 5

Nice property, good location but missing details such as soap, shampoo, and a hair dryer. Also the mattress is very soft and needs to be replaced. Sheets and some towels should also be replaced.

Cute and conveniently located!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I planned a weekend getaway to St. Augustine and this little cottage was perfect for our stay. It was a short walk to many restaurants and attractions, but on a nice, quiet street. Highly recommend for a couple or maybe 3 people.

Perfect for two couples close to down town. We used Uber and that was awesome. The place was clean, and quaint!
