Fraudulent description and broken plumbing
Specifically advertised as a first floor apartment "facing two [upscale streets in Tel Aviv]. with king and queen-sized beds and closets (one even walk-in), two bathrooms (each with a shower and bathtub), a 6 flame gas cooker, toaster, and more, . . the apartment was actually a THIRD FLOOR walk-up with two bedroom windows overlooking an unpaved half-block alley (complete with garbage cans and parked cars) that opens at the far end of the alley (between two, three-story apartment buildings) to peak at a small sliver of the tree-lined boulevard. It actually had two full and one double bed, no closets, one shower in first bathroom and a bathtub with a broken handheld shower (leaking all over the bathroom) in the second bathroom. There is a 4 burner stove, but three burners were broken and no toaster. Also, when we arrived the WiFi wasn’t working. So, we contacted the property manager about the WiFi, broken handheld shower, and broken stove burners. First, the owner accused us of not using the WiFi correctly (but then spoke with the cable company who told him there was a problem with the internet in the apartment that they had to fix). The owner also told us that he had been trying to fix the handheld shower for three weeks, but needs a new part. He additionally told us that he was aware that the burners were broken and ultimately never responded to us about the “missing” toaster. We were two married couples sharing a trip. We never intended to share a shower. If the owner had told us about the problem with the second "shower" (that he admittedly knew about for at least three weeks before our arrival) we would have tried to find a replacement booking. And frankly, even if the handheld shower wasn’t broken, the lack of shower curtain in the second bathroom would have made using the purported “shower” in the second bathroom unworkable. We were very angry about the apartment and the scope of the fraud, but we had no alternatives once we arrived. We are angrier about the property owner’s decision to stop communicating with us once he learned we were disappointed. We have photos of the apartment that support all of these assertions as well as photos showing that the air conditioner was leaking water into the apartment, which the owner said he would fix right after we arrived, but he never did. We couldn’t even use the air conditioning in this Tel Aviv apartment in August until we found replacement batteries for the AC remote control.
Excellent location. Great stay
Nice property very well located. Has all the amenities and has been refurbished with a modern feel. We were a family of 6 (including 2 children) and it worked well for us.
42 steps to the first floor, inaccurate description, and staged photos.
Reserved for 4 nights and left after 2. Not really sure where to start so here is a list.
1. There are no walk-in closets
2. Scuff marks on just about every wall.
3. A couple of holes in the wall in one of the bedrooms.
4. Parking is kitty corner in a whole different building.
5. Parking space is a joke. Do not try to park anything bigger than a mini van. Anything bigger will result in damage to vehicle.
6. 4 burner stove instead of 6. Knobs melted and missing burner cap.
7. Staged photos of apartment. Photos do not accurately represent rental.
8. 42 steps to reach the door of the apartment. Apartment is actually 1 level above shop.
9. Door molding falling off in bathroom
10. Bathroom threshold being held down with duct tape.
11. Owner wanted to show the apartment to a potential buyer while we were there. Never informed us that the place was listed for sale.
Location is good but not for the 42 steps and misleading representation of the rental. Really doubt the actual reviews of past renters.
The property was just like it was described. The location is good and the parking is a must.
The apartment was all that it was promised to be. The beds were fine, the kitchen was adequate for preparing breakfast or a light supper. The bathrooms/toilettes need a little getting used to: lots of see-through glass.
There are a number of markets at street level, so there is no need to drive around to buy whatever you may need, assuming you are on vacation.
The owner was very helpful and came by to show us what we needed.
The only low-light was the sofa. It is really not comfortable for more than a few minutes.
Even better than described.
Welcoming and charming neighborhood convenient to restaurants and walking tours. Terrific communications with Jeremy even when my SMS messages were slow he responded quickly by phone to ease our arrival. First rate appliances and luxury. Thank you Jeremy!!
A lovely apartment in a great location.
Thank you for the comfortable stay. Your apartment was exactly as you described, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Sam and I, as well as my sister and Sam’s sister enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for your help. We appreciated it.
We would be happy to stay there again when we come back to Tel Aviv.
This is probably the most known center of tel aviv with lots of great fashion boutiques, art galleries and many varied restaurants and coffee shops.
Walking down shenkin st you will pass many young designers boutiques and small coffee shops. After about 500m you will get to the famous carmel, great for grocery shopping and buying souvenirs. Continuing walking will get you to the tel aviv promenade in less than 10 minutes. Rotchild avenue is a very popular avenue among locals, it is great for walking around and meeting local young people, eating in great restaurants and observing the real tel aviv atmosphere. Walking right on rotchild avenue will get you to neve tzedek, the first neighborhood of tel aviv. Walking left on rotchild avenue will get you to habima, the national theatre. Other close by attractions are the disingoff center which is a big department store with many shops including all the big franchises.
