This is a historic Craftsman house located in the desirable residential neighborhood in Hollywood Hills. Yet just steps from the vibrant center of Hollywood. Formerly leased by several entertainment celebrities, and has been used for film and photo shoots for it's classic structure. It has 4bdrms, 3 baths on 2 floors in 2277sq ft, comfortably sleeps 10. Master bdrm has king size bed, writing desk and walk in closet. Bathroom has claw foot bathtub and separate walkin shower. 2nd bdrm has queen bed and private bath with tub/shower. Small bdrm on second floor has twin bunk beds. There is one bdrm on 1st flr with queen bed. Bathrm downstairs has walkin shower. Large livingroom has large sectional sofa, can use for queen bed or 2 twins. There is wood burning brick fire place, build in book shelves, wood desk. Formal dining room sits 6, with build in hardwood cabinets. Hardwood floor throughout with wood beam ceiling and molding. Remodel kitchen has granite countertop, build in oven and microwave. There is a bar counter that sits 4. There is a breakfast area/sunroom with glass table that sits 4. Separate laundry room with washer and dryer. There is also a treadmill machine and other exercise equipment. Behind the house is a small deck with patio table and chairs. There is a gas grill and fire bowl for outdoor entertaining. Small grassy area is great for lawn games. There is also a basketball hoop for pickup games. The parking lot in the back is large and easily accommodates 5 cars, more if parking tandem in the driveway. The large front porch is great for relaxing and people watching, as there are frequently young joggers and commuters.

Fantastic comfort and hospitality!!!

We were attending a wedding at the Lombardi House in Hollywood this weekend, and found this property on VRBO. As first time short term renters we were amazed at how prepared the owner and the property were. We brought everything we thought we might need for a three day stay, and to our delight found that everything we could possibly need, and things we didn't even think of were already there. The owner and his maintenance man met us there to make sure we were satisfied with the property and to let us know that they were available to us anytime in case we needed anything at all. The house is absolutely beautiful with every amenity one might need. There is plenty of parking, room for children to play, and a great patio / bbq grill set up for the adults to enjoy. Both the children and adults were happy and comfortable. It is definitely a home away from home. If you want to really enjoy your vacation without stress and still have the comfort of home, this is the place for you!!

Owner's Response: Thank you Darlene, what a great family you have! Her family came from Arizona for a wedding. They were just wonderful guests, so warm and friendly, characteristic of someone from the tropical pacific islands, Guam in fact. It was a delight to host them. They kept the house clean, and were easy to communicate, no problem at all. My assistant and I would welcome them again anytime.

This house was a nice place but very dirty. We had to clean the bathrooms..

The house was a nice place but very dirty. We had to clean the bathrooms before using. Toilets were very dirty. Floors were dirty , house had a bad smell. Dishwasher did not work.. stove had spills on it. Found someone's dirty clothes under the bed. I think I deserve a refund on just the conditions of how dirty the house was. Even debated on getting a hotel because of how filthy bathrooms were.

Beautiful Craftsman

Our family of 8 adults stayed at Holly Dr from 10-13 December. This home has 4 bedrooms. One on the main floor with an attached bath that is shared with the family room, one on the second floor that shares a main bathroom with a bunk bed room and one on the second floor with it's own bathroom.

The beds were comfortable and if you like to sleep with a fan like I do there are ceiling fans as well as paddle fans. The weather was a bit chilly and the house furnace really worked well for us. It heats up quickly and maintains temperature.

The kitchen was fully stocked and in excellent working order. You could pretty much cook anything in there that you wish. I did not notice a lack of anything needed for cooking but I also did not cook a full meal there.

The back yard was large and we had fun playing basketball back there. The only suggestion I have would be to replace the table and chairs out there. They are looking a bit shabby but work okay. There is not grass on this property so if you are looking for a place with a lawn do not expect one here. This did not affect our stay in the least. We loved the landscaping that was there.

The street is quiet, but there is a lot of traffic going up and down it. I would not recommend anyone with small attended children out front. But the neighborhood was safe and we did not have any feeling of uneasiness there at all.

There is wifi and some TV channels. There is not a lot of choices of channels but if you are on vacation that is not a deal breaker anyway!

We did not have a need for a rental car at all. There is a mini mart on the corner literally a two minute walk. There is a CVS across the street from that. The metro train station was a quick 10 minute walk and two stops from Universal Studios. Super easy! The Walk of Fame is a 5 minute walk and the Chinese Theater is about a 15 minute walk. There are a lot of bars and restaurants up and down Hollywood BLVD and that area.

We flew in to Burbank Airport and it was just a 10 minute ride with a shuttle company to and from the airport.

The Homeowner, Mr. Wong was easy to work with and his mother was absolutely adorable when we met her the second day.

This home is a beautiful Historical home built in 1910. It has wonderful charm and great upgrades. We loved this home and would definitely rent again

This House Is Unsafe to Rent

The house has lots of potential charm, with lots of old, dark wood trim. But this is negated by a decided lack of attention to basic maintenance, safety and cleanliness throughout the house. The lower level bathroom is barely adequate with a cramped shower stall and very dim lighting. The towels were thin and old and dingy looking. A far more serious issue is the bathroom doors do not properly operate or latch. Entry to the lower level bedroom is through the bathroom which poses a serious safety issue. I found myself locked in the bedroom unable to open the door. The knob would turn but did not unlatch the door. One would be forced to egress through the windows if alone in the house. Another major issue is the furnace did not work. One day was quite rainy and cool, and there was no instruction on how to turn on the heat.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this house until the owner addresses all safety and maintenance issues, and .

Highly disappointed

We spent a long drive in traffic only to find the house in very poor condition. The house appears to not have been taken care of since the original photos were taken. This house sits in a very scary neighborhood with no security barriers. The plants in the front yard are dead and the door looks like it has been kicked in a few times. When the front door is open is eliminates an order that is very strong. We had no desire to step inside to further the disappointment. I would not recommend this home to anyone unless you don't fear for your life or your families lives. Best of luck.

Owner's Response: I waited almost 3 hr for Kathryn Luna and her family on 10/11/2016, because of their schedule and traffic problems. It was after 7pm that I noticed their SUV parked in the driveway in the dark with the headlights on. I went out to the porch to wave them to park in the back of the house. She just rolled down the window and did not move. A man got out from the passenger side and said they didn't want to stay, and wanted their money back. I asked them to come inside the house and talk. He said no, that they didn't want to stay in a place that's not safe for their kids to walk around; and for a little more, they can just get hotel rooms. It came as such a shock that I just said the street has lots of neighborhood dog walkers and joggers. I didn't tell them that this is a million dollar neighborhood and my house is assessed at $1.6 million by Zillow. I wondered how much their house is worth in Oregon! I didn't want any argument in my driveway and went back inside from the porch; and they left. Yes, there is no security barriers in any of the houses on the street, and there is no need here. After 5 years of drought in Southern California, I have to be environmentally proactive and ripped out the lawn, like many in the City. The landscape has not fully grown out in Oct since it last rained 6 months ago. This is a way of life in Southern Cal, and I am going to be a good steward of our earth whether or not I rent out the house. They did not get any refund from me and filed a complaint with VacationRentals on Oct 15, claiming that the "property is dirty", and "Common household amenities or basic consumables are missing/unusable". I told VacationRentals that this guest and family never set foot inside the house. They would not know what's in there, or where the A/C and heating controls are, nothing. VacationRentals customer support department dismissed their complaint right away! Their complaints are blatantly false and vicious.

Wonderful Hollywood stay!

This house was spacious, comfortable, well furnished and very clean, making my mother's 85th birthday celebration there a great sucess. Hollywood attractions are only a few minutes away. I appreciated Mr. Wong's communication with my first rental, and highly recommend his property to anyone interested in a superlative Hollywood stay!

Formerly residence of several Hollywood celebrities, and has been used for film and photo shots. Just 2 blocks north of the heart of Hollywood, and walk to the subway at Vine station and W hotel. Hot nightclubs and boutiques line Cahuenga Blvd just a few minutes walk from the house. Walk along Hollywood Blvd to Highland and Chinese theater. Hollywood Bowl is walking distance away. It is 2.5mi to Universal Studios for a full day of fun. Less than 10mins to Downtown LA and Staples center. It is also a short ride to the westside, Beverly Hills and the beaches for endless fun.
