Pet friendly cracker style cabin is a great retreat. If you are looking for something different then a beach. It is located among horse and cattle country and is a unique piece of property. We enjoyed the cranes in the morning. It is very private and has beautiful trees. Mr. Davis was very friendly and had a fire in the wood fireplace when we arrived. This was very welcoming as it was pretty cool for Florida that night. Simple, neat, cozy, and relaxing.

The cabin and property were both relaxing and we enjoyed much time outdoors with our furry kiddos! We went kayaking briefly but returned to enjoy walking the trails with our dogs that surround the beautiful property. Thank you!!!

Very enjoyable weekend!

  • 5 of 5

I was joined by my daughter and grandson, a weekend getaway for his 19th birthday. We had a nice relaxing time, just what we needed. I walked the trails as I was interested in the Civil War cemetery. Suggestion to others: I got some chigger bites so use some spray or tuck your pants into your socks. I also walked right into a banana spider web & used a branch to clear my way after that. Ah, the joys of Florida woods. The dog, who lives in a condo & walks mostly sidewalks, was really enjoying herself with the big woods & being able to lay in the sun by the french doors. We enjoyed the fire we built at the grill--would love to come back & do that again when not so humid. My daughter loved! the kitchen & made some wonderful meals for us. All the supplies are there, ready to use. Sandhill cranes came for a visit our last morning. I took my pancake loving grandson for pancakes that last morning to Ivie's, very close & great staff. And thanks Bob for a check out time of 2pm so we could get up leisurely & not have to rush to be out by 11. We were sad to leave and go back to our busy lives after an off the phone/internet grid weekend. Will cherish the memory & would love to do it again!

If you love the outdoors. This is the place.

WOW. What can I say? If you want to retreat from everything this is definitely the place. The cabin was perfect, the property it sits on was perfect, everything about it was perfect. The owner was so accommodating and helped me out with the Birthday surprise I asked for, for my wife's birthday weekend. I will definitely be back to utilize the other amenities such as the barn and hopefully the stands (hint hint) can't wait to bring the family with me next time. Thanks again to the Davis' for all they did.

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I, with our little pup, arrived on saturday morning and fell in love right away. The property is tucked off the road in the privacy of gorgeous old trees that gave us the feeling of complete seclusion. At first glance we fell in love with the log cabin look and as we stepped in it was better than we thought. The decor fit the setting perfectly and we felt right at home.

The property itself is so spacious and was great to explore the walking trails with our dog. The surrounding area is remote so we would definitely recommend brining as many groceries as you feel necessary for your stay. If I was to stay again, I would bring a kayak or canoe with us to launch at the Orange Springs Boat ramp about a mile from the cabin. It was a beautifully serene area along the Ocklawaha River.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased you enjoyed yourselves. Thank you for the kind words. The 300 year old Live Oak Trees do give the property the feeling of peace and quiet, with a all to yourself feeling. The Ocklawaha River is a paradise in itself. Hope to have you back soon.

The perfect place to get away from it all...

  • 5 of 5

My mother passed away recently, and grieving at home was difficult due to loud construction going on next door. I am so glad we booked the cabin for a couple of days. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The property is surrounded by beautiful live oak trees and I sat outside a lot during our stay. We read books, watched movies, and also took a walk in the woods. Forests are truly magical. All I wanted was peace and quiet, and that is what I got. There is no wifi and we didn't get cell service, which was fine for me since I didn't want to be disturbed (there is a landline). I would bring more groceries next time since there's not many restaurants or shopping in the area. We had breakfast at Evie's Diner where the service was friendly and the food really good. Bob's little cabin in the woods was just what I needed.

My wife and I stayed here July 29-30. If your looking for peace and quiet this is the place. It was very clean and very well stocked with everything you'll need. Just bring your clothes, groceries, and drinks. Loved being in the woods and walking the trails on the property. We saw deer, owls, hawks, and a family of otters. Bob even has mosquito spray every where outside, in case you need it. The bbq pit works great. We didn't light the fire pit by the marsh area because it was hot but it was nice to just sit there and watch the wildlife. We will be staying here again.
