I bought property in Asheville, because the mountains are beautiful and relaxing. It has quite a variety of great restaurants for a small city, lots of golf courses and a lot of adventure for my teenagers.
We thought the cabin was absolutely perfect! We definitely plan to return with friends. It is the perfect distance from town but still being in the mountains. I loved that it had all the amenities so we didn’t have to worry about a single thing on our honeymoon. The large TVs with built in DVD players, having tons of dishes and everything just working great made it so we could just relax and not have to keep running out to look for stuff. Thanks for the perfect cabin!
We loved our stay at Hummingbird Cabin. Everything was perfect. The cabin was very clean and fully stocked with everything we could have needed. This is the first time we were in Asheville and the area is absolutely beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely go back!!!
We've stayed at the Hummingbird cabin several times over the last few years and it never disappoints. Great location, clean and dog friendly. We had a great time.
Just finished our stay for a bachelor party. The cabin was exactly what we wanted - something within a quick drive to downtown Asheville, yet far enough away to enjoy the outdoors.
First, the outside of the cabin. Its tucked away from a country road, completely surrounded by tree lines. There is a nice yard with flat spots to accomodate any activity or sport. Along one side of the yard is a small stream that leads to a larger creek. There is a large deck on the back with a large gas grille. The deck leads to a hot tub which was nice, new, filled with clean water and ready to go. About 50 feet from the back deck was a large fire pit with benches on each side to fit 6-8 people. Fire wood was provided and it was plentiful. At night, you could go 30-45 minutes and not hear or see any signs of cars or city noise - just a creek and sounds of nature. For parking, the driveway can easily fit 3 cars, and across the driveway is a small lot that can fit 6-8 more. There was another cabin farther up the drive on top of the mountain, but it was out of sight and we we never heard a sound or saw a car going that way so it felt like we were in our own secluded slice of nature.
Inside, we were greeted to pamplets and booklets filled with info on the cabin and the local area. The kitchen is modern with new appliances, and included a large refrigerator with an ice maker in the freezer. Bedrooms were great and spacious, the sleep number beds are a great touch. 4 HDTV's with satellite TVs give plenty of opportunities to find something to watch. The cabin almost 2 wings joined by a small entryway leading to the deck, each with a common living room area, bedroom, and bathroom; it makes it easy to seperate parties if you are looking to have some privacy. Both bathrooms are also modern styled, nicely updated, and included more than enough towels for any group size. Even the bunk beds were comfortable and roomy enough for an adult. All told, you can easily sleep 8 with what is included (2 king beds, pull out couch, 2 bunk beds). Extra blankets, sheets, and pillows were included. Full size washer and dryer, also new, and detergent was a great addition. All in all, the cabin was turn key and had everything you needed aside from groceries. It was a 15 minute drive to Asheville with Uber's costing approx. $14-16. To the nearest supermarket, gas station, restaurants was an 8-10 minute drive.
It was an amazing trip and everyone in party highy recommends!
