A 1914 charming Craftsman home offering a cozy and peaceful ambiance. The home features a large living and dining room filled with natural light and tasteful antique furniture. An open floor plan extends the ambiance from the living room into the dining room. The dining room has an antique sofa and period chandelier for the optimal dining room setting.
There are two bedrooms with a walk through bathroom. The space is warm, ideal for two people and comfortable with four. The master bedroom has a queen size comfortable pillowtop mattress with luxury linens, down comforter and bathrobes. The guest room has a full size bed with a memory foam mattress, luxury linens and bathrobes.
The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to support the preparation of a gourmet meal. Enjoy your gourmet meal on the front porch, a beautiful setting with a dining area framed by beautiful trees and flowers. The 'dining room' on the front porch provides the perfect spot for morning or evening dining.
Creating beautiful interior and exterior spaces is a passion of mine, and the gardens that surround this home delight the senses. Garden beds are planted with fruits, vegetables and herbs, and guests are encouraged to harvest from the garden.
The house is set back from an active neighborhood and the space is surprisingly quiet. When you are ready to explore the historic Whiteaker neighborhood, there are many appealing options for dining, sampling craft beers and wines or hearing music within walking distance.
A separate rental cottage is located behind the house, and both the house and cottage are private, noise-free spaces. Together, the house and cottage are comfortable for up to 7 people, and both are available as vacation rentals, if you are looking to host your family or friends for a special event or holiday.
Named for Oregon's first Governor, the historic Whiteaker is considered Eugene's most eclectic neighborhood. Entrepreneurs have established popular venues in this neighborhood to share their culinary, musical, brewing and wine making talents. Most recently, the Whiteaker has become identified as Eugene's brewery district. Several craft breweries, including Ninkasi, Hop Valley, Oakshire and Falling Sky are located within a few blocks of one another. Recently earning accolades from Esquire magazine as one of America's best bars, Sam Bond's Garage is an iconic night spot showcasing regional musicians on an almost-nightly basis.
A mix of commercial and residential structures, enjoy the serenity of the Craftsman or walk in any direction to enjoy this eccentric historic district of Eugene!
The gorgeous Willamette River is only a few blocks away and easily accessed by walking 10 minutes north of the Craftsman. Enjoy an evening stroll along the Willamette River or go for a run, bicycle ride or walk along this gorgeous river that runs through the town of Eugene.
Engaging, friendly host interested in people and creative endeavors. I spend my time running a local non-profit organization that protects and enhances land and water through collaborative processes, research, design and habitat restoration efforts. I also have a business in interior design, creating beautiful and comfortable living spaces for myself and others. I have established the gardens around the home to create a peaceful, beautiful setting with the hope of providing an oasis for guests to relax into and enjoy.
Eve purchased this bungalow in 2009
I love the architecture of the old homes in the Whiteaker neighborhood. There are a lot of trees that surround many of the homes in this area, creating a sense of nature among the architectural aesthetic I enjoy. The neighborhood is also lively with a mix of people from many facets of life, providing diversity and a sense of community.
Serene oasis very close to the excitement of the Whiteaker neighborhood. Walking distance to the beautiful Willamette River, many restaurants, breweries and wineries.
As soon as you step through the gate, the privacy of the garden makes you feel removed from the city. Not far from various breweries and wine tasting rooms, we were able to experience local culture and well as spend some nurturing time at the property reposing in the lovely spaces (garden, porch, and inside). Well-cared for, this home will provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. In addition, a garden outside was for our consumption with everything from herbs, berries, lettuce, tomatoes, and peppers. How thoughtful! My only suggestion: a salad spinner for the kitchen. Otherwise, the stay was simply perfect!
Eve was a gracious host and her attention to detail is prevalent throughout the property.
We stayed in the Charming Craftsman home for two nights, and we couldn't have been more comfortable. The house has personality and it is very well-located. Eve has thought of everything!
This house is very nice. It is old (in a perfect way) so if you are looking for modern windows / doors / and space this might not be your cup of tea but if you appreciate the fact that it is a perfectly maintained vintage masterpiece you will be in love.
My 15yo daughter and I stayed here for a 3 day UofO Softball camp. It is a great home base. The beds are super comfortable, it is meticulously clean, and comes with everything you need. Kitchen and bathroom are modern and function well. It has a new modern heating system that works great.
Unfortunately we were here in January because eating on the front porch or in the garden area would have been great. Net net probably the best HomeAway property I have stayed in to date. The only thing to note is it does not have a TV so if that is import to you don't forget your device to stream on. Personally it was nice to disconnect the 15yo for the weekend.
Very comfortable. The location was perfect for our tastes. Nice to walk to the river and enjoy the riverside park.
We had a fabulous time at the Charming Craftsman in the Whiteaker. What a beautiful and comfortable home. The location is fabulous, we were able to walk to so many amazing restaurants, breweries and stores. It was a great home base for visiting our son and his girlfriend who live in Eugene. Thank you for sharing your home!
This place was amazing to stay at. Beautiful home so charming!!! Close to everything would come back again, loved it.
