Engaging, friendly host interested in people and creative endeavors. I spend my time running a local non-profit organization that protects and enhances land and water through collaborative processes, research, design and habitat restoration efforts. I also have a business in interior design, creating beautiful and comfortable living spaces for myself and others. I have established the gardens around the home to create a peaceful, beautiful setting with the hope of providing an oasis for guests to relax into and enjoy.
Eve purchased this House in 2009
Why Eve chose Whiteaker
I love the architecture of the old homes in the Whiteaker neighborhood. There are a lot of trees that surround many of the homes in this area, creating a sense of nature among the architectural aesthetic I enjoy. The neighborhood is also lively with a mix of people from many facets of life, providing diversity and a sense of community.
What makes this House unique
Serene oasis very close to the excitement of the Whiteaker neighborhood. Walking distance to the beautiful Willamette River, many restaurants, breweries and wineries.

Uniquely lovely house
We couldn’t have asked for anything more. A couple blocks from our favorite coffee shop in Eugene, right next to Jill’s ice cream. Red Barn natural foods has everything you need. We have a toddler and walked a mile to the Riverfront Park that you must go to if you have kids. We also walked to Down to Earth home store and nursery, just a few blocks away. Restaurants and food trucks all nearby. The house itself is charming and tidy. Really nice backyard that you share with the cottage guests, whom we only saw a couple of times. My primary memory will probably be eating breakfast on the front deck and looking at the garden. I was nervous about the cello being in the middle of the living room, but luckily by the grace of the powers that be, my toddler understood it was a hands-off object. If you don’t want to worry about a kiddo getting into cellos and decorative items that are in the living room, that is something to consider. Another thing to note is that it’s a little bit noisy in the area. It’s a few blocks from the train tracks and there’s a little bit of foot traffic in the area. I’d suggest ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. But beds were very nice and cozy.
Eve was a wonderful host and communicated promptly with me. The home was spotless and was quite beautiful. The bed was amazingly comfortable. There was beautiful art and the garden was gorgeous. I really enjoyed my stay.
Charming and More!
Really, this charming craftsman is an urban delight and oasis! It’s even more beautiful in person, very clean and well appointed.
We loved being able to walk to great restaurants, shops and even the grocery store.
The gardens were beautiful and well maintained and what a treat to eat fresh lettuces from the garden. The beds might be the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in, no joke, a total dream.
My daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend, but it’s large enough that our entire family of four could stay here and not feel crowded. The plush robes and cozy linens were the perfect touch.
I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers who need to be in town but are looking for a little “escape” while hanging out at the cottage.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
I look forward to hosting you and your daughter at the Craftsman again!! Within a month or so, there should be kales, lettuces, onions, beets, chard, bok choi, tomatoes, cilantro, favs beans and peas to pick in the garden.
The craftsman home was just as cute, charming, and pleasant as advertised. It was clean and comfortable.
Eve, the property manager was responsive and great. Eve made contact with us and made every efforts to resolve our issues quickly and pleasantly.
There were only a couple of issues: timely availability of rental for check in - house keeper/cleaner was still there upon our arrival- and it was advertised that it had satellite cable TV which we were looking forward to being able to watch March Madness. They have a few TV apps but none can access live TV. That was our only disappointment - everything else was wonderful!!! Thank you we look forward to renting here again.
Celia, I am pleased you found the Craftsman a wonderful experience. Again, I apologize the cleaner delayed your check in-it is not common for the rental. I am happy to now provide a TV in the Craftsman, it’s not the main feature of the home, but I know some guests appreciate a TV so I have recently added this amenity. As we spoke about by phone, the listing site offers only one option for this amenity so “cable/satélite” is the closest and most appropriate description of what is offered. I also describe that sports and TV is streamed through Hulu live. The Hulu live subscription I have for the Craftsman offers access to ESPN, local sports channels, news and much more. March Madness was accessible, so I am sorry you were unable to navigate Hulu live to watch your desired game. I would have welcomed another phone call or house visit to assist you further.
Home away from home in Eugene
We had a very comfortable stay in this property. The house is cozy, but large enough that my husband and I and our adult son didn't get in each other's way for the 5 nights we were there. We were there over Thanksgiving, and the kitchen had everything we had to have to make our dinner, including a slow cooker. We had all the pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and wine glasses that we needed.
The weather was kind of dreary, which was a shame because I would have loved to spend some time in the back yard. It looked really inviting, and I hope to be there again in the summer so I can enjoy it.
Beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was well-equipped with towels, soaps, toilet tissue, etc.
The whole feeling of the house was warm and charming. Eve was very accommodating, and checked in with us right away to make sure we had everything we needed.
The house is in a great location. We hardly used our car at all because many of our favorite restaurants and stores are just blocks away.
We are looking forward to our next visit to Eugene and a stay in this awesome place!
Appointed home in a good location
Named for Oregon's first Governor, the historic Whiteaker is considered Eugene's most eclectic neighborhood. Entrepreneurs have established popular venues in this neighborhood to share their culinary, musical, brewing and wine making talents. Most recently, the Whiteaker has become identified as Eugene's brewery district. Several craft breweries, including Ninkasi, Hop Valley, Oakshire and Falling Sky are located within a few blocks of one another. Recently earning accolades from Esquire magazine as one of America's best bars, Sam Bond's Garage is an iconic night spot showcasing regional musicians on an almost-nightly basis.
This beautiful house is located in the Whiteaker neighborhood; a thriving, eclectic and artistic area of Eugene offering some of the best restaurants (Grit, Mame', Izaka Meiji, Tacovore, Pizza Research Institute), a popular music venue (Sam Bond's Garage), natural food store (Red Barn), award-winning bakery Sweet Life Patisserie, Ninkasi Brewery and Territorial Winery. Also located nearby is the 5th Street Market, an upscale shopping center with boutiques, fine dining, movie theatre and more.
The house is located 5 blocks from the beautiful Willamette River and bike path that extends along the river. The University of Oregon campus is nearby, and easily accessible by bike along the bike path or by car.
