About the Owner
I am a transplanted British lad, from the borders of those two 'olde' countries, Scotland and England. Born just on the English side....much to the chagrin of my Dad, a fervent Scottish lad!! I have been residing in the Great Northwest for 25 years. Yes,a visit intended for a 'few' years, has been extended, not in small part due to my wife Sharon. She's a local lady, has kept me here a wee bit longer than I thought, but it's a lovely location, with a combination of busy 'city living', with the relaxed, 'neighborhood' feel.I like living near restaurants, pubs and the like, where you can walk to, and wander about, getting to know the locals, much as one does in the various European cities. That's our Phinney Ridge, extending for over a mile, from the South End at the Zoo, to Greenwood to the North....lovely stuff!!

Great little hideaway!
We had a lovely stay at Keith and Sharon's apartment. It has everything you need to make yourself at home including a very well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and a lovely patio. The binder is a great resource for finding what you need in the area and the supply of maps, bus schedules, guide books and more were really helpful. The location of the apartment was a huge bonus- one block to the bus stop which made getting into town a snap. And just a few blocks to the amazing Green Lake which has swimming, boating, walking, basketball and more. And the hosts couldn't be nicer! Only drawback were low door frames that my husband bumped his head on several times, the mini refrigerator and a glass coffee table with very sharp edges.
Home away from home!
When one thinks of a basement apartment they could not be invisioning this gem!!! Keith and Sharon have created a place for people that feels like home! Sharon's cookies are delicious and a wonderful welcome!
We had such a great time in this clean, quiet, and oh so comfortable setting! The book of places to eat, shop, and visit is so detailed and helpful! We drove into the city for Space Neddle and Market fun and it was a breeze!
Thank you both for taking the time to go above and beyond for your guests!!
Great Host, Great Location!
We had a very pleasant 5 night stay here, with our young adult children. It was a great place to operate out of, as we were out exploring the city and surrounding areas every day. We had everything we needed, and it was very easy to get to where ever we needed to go, and it was great to come back in the evening and hang out on the lovely patio with the palm tree - a palm tree in Seattle!! We also enjoyed being so near to Green Lake, and being able to pack a dinner or lunch and go eat by the lake. The lake also has a great bike/walking path. Keith was a very gracious host, very helpful about the area and things to do, we enjoyed some evening chats with him and his wife on the patio! I highly recommend this property, it is on the lower level of the house, but it really did not feel like it, as the windows were large , and it felt very bright! Keith also somehow arranged for 4 very warm and sunny days in Seattle in June- very unusual!!! (How did you do that??)
quaint, clean, good location, felt like our own home for the short stay
When we first arrived, the directions given by the house owners were very clear so it was easy to find the key and the door. They had left a plate of cookies for us which we're very delicious and thoughtful. The low ceiling was not a problem for us but you should watch your head when walking through the front door. The house was very well kept and clean. It was very spacious and private with lots of natural lighting. It was close to the downtown area (about a ten minute drive) and to a beautiful park and lake. The neighboring restaurant, Bongos, which the homeowners recommended had amazing food and definitely worth checking out. Overall the home was amazing and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay near Seattle.
Great Stay - You should stay here too!
Great place with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, wifi, parking and a nice little yard. Couldn't have been better. We had never even been to this part of Seattle before and really enjoyed the easy access to the Zoo, Northgate Mall and several of the little nearby restaurants. I had a chance to meet Keith out front of the house and he couldn't have been nicer. I would certainly stay here again on a future trip into Seattle.
Activity and Interests
The home is situated a 100 yards from picturesque Greenlake, with its 3 mile walk around the lake. There are a number of restaurants, coffee shops and bars, surrounding the lake. To the West, about 5 blocks, is our local neighborhood, Phinney Ridge with numerous shops, antique stores, bars, restaurants, and just about anything else that you may be looking for! Also, woodland Park Zoo is on the ridge, a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk.Outside the house, is the main bus line to Downtown Seattle. Visit Pike Place Market or any of the terrific sports arenas in Seattle, and it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Likewise, should you be visiting the Univ. of Washington.
