The town of Bristol, settled in 1680 around a deep-water harbor, features several historic sites, a charming town center and a variety of restaurant choices. Conveniently located roughly half-way between Providence and Newport, Bristol provides an excellent jumping-off point for exploring this corner of New England

Quaint, beautiful, relaxing, peaceful, are just a few words to describe this ocean front cottage. This house was equipped with everything we need. The neighbors on each side were very friendly and the neighborhood is quiet. We especially enjoyed the breathtaking sunrise and the twinkling of a billion lights at night. The full moon and the unexpected fire works across the bay was the icing on the cake during my wedding weekend. We will definitely come again.
Not "Ugly" at all.
This was a great place to stay. Very pretty, great waterfront views, great for swimming, awesome sunrises. Thanks for making us feel so welcome! Hope to be back again.
Wonderful Cottage in a Great Location
My wife and I enjoyed our July vacation stay at "the Ugly House" very much. We swam every day, making use of the outside shower afterward. The rocky beach gives way to a mostly sandy bottom a short distance from shore. It is a lovely, quiet, and friendly neighborhood, with everything you could need nearby. The house is nicely furnished and well maintained, with a well-equipped kitchen. The owner was responsive and very easy to work with from start to finish.
Great place to stay!
Home was very nice, great view, quiet area, close to downtown.
Fantastic Waterfront Cottage
My husband and I stayed here for 5 weeks during January 2016. It is a beautiful waterfront location and is in a safe quiet family neighborhood. This was not a vacation for us but rather a place to stay as we finished our careers and prepared for retirement to Florida. The cottage had everything that we needed. We had rented it sight unseen and were a little concerned that it might not be adequate for winter weather. The concerns were unfounded as the cottage is fully winterized and all systems are in excellent working order. We have lived in the Bristol area for 30+ years and can say that this is a great location to explore surrounding areas. If and when we return to this area for a summer vacation from the Florida heat and humidity we would welcome the chance to spend time here again.
Wonderful waterfront Cottage
My wife and I stayed at the home for the month of October 2015. It is absolutely cute and cozy with a fantastic porch and deck right on the water facing east. Most mornings started with stunningly beautiful sun rises. Wonderful lawn leading to the waters edge with a great patio on the seawall, perfect for an afternoon of reading while sitting in the Adirondack chairs (with a glass of wine of course). Location is excellent for visiting family in the local area, sailing in Newport, equestrian events at Sandy Point stables, fishing and clamming; and eating a many great local restaurants. We really can't say enough about what a great home this is ; we will return!
From the Owner
“We fell in love with Bristol on our first visit to the area. The town reminds us of a 'mini Newport' with its wharf, restaurants and shopping. It is a close knit community and many families have lived here for generations. The proximity to the fine cuisine of Providence and the sights attractions of Newport make this an ideal place for our family. There are plenty of places to explore including the famous Newport/Middletown beaches and some hidden gems that are off the beaten path. Nearby Seakonk Mass. has every type of shopping and entertainment you could ask for including the Speedway. Battle Ship Cove is visible from our back Porch.”
