Location Location Location
The apartment was great...we had some difficulty getting
into the apartment, they changed the code. The owner
followed up by email, which was difficult some times.
The 44 stairs was a challenge, FYI if you are older this
might be an issue.
Great location in a quintessential Paris neighborhood. Everything you want to see in Paris is within a 1-1/2 mile walk. Three Metro stations and one RER within 2-3 minutes. 5 minutes to the Seine and Notre Dame. Restaurants, bakeries, super markets, fish markets, cheese shops, all within 2-3 blocks.
Will say that the apartment is a little more rustic than the photos show (the remodel is several years old), but everything works, and we found it quite comfortable. The loft ceiling is low, but with 2 of us it was a good place to store luggage and hang our drying laundry (no Dryer in apt). We ate most dinners in for the first 3 weeks of our 4 week stay, and the kitchen worked fine. Terry was very responsive to our request for some extra items, helpful with suggestions of things to do, and quickly responded to a few minor problems even from 8K miles away in San Diego on his own vacation. We will go back.
BTW, St Germain Blvd is a very busy street and a relatively ritzy neighborhood. The Unit is located on a courtyard which isolated us from all the street noise. Slept great as a result.
We stayed in Terry s apt and we had good time.
the location is amazing because you can walk to everything and we never use the public transportation for the week
the place is well equipped and simple, not fancy just what we need and more.
the building is an old building without lift but no big deal
the place was clean and fresh and the comunication with Terry was easy and gave us great advices and recommandations. We will come back on day thank you
This apartment was perfect for our needs. Great location, twin beds for the kids, washing machine and enough room for 4. It was clean, comfortable and easy to find. Communication with the host was easy, reliable and friendly. We had a great time and would happily stay here again. The stairs are steep up and down from the mezzanine sleeping area but fine if you haven't imbibed too much lovely rose wine. . Edited to add the listing accuracy should be five stars (perhaps the wine?). What you get is what you see. Great property and great value for money.
it was amazing trip for my kids and me. We really enjoyed the location and the apt.
Everything was exactly like on the pictures and the host was very nice and responding
My kids enjoyed to be in the loft bedroom to play.
The furnitures are modern and the kitchen is well equipped and furnished to cook breakfast lunch and dinner
We had in the cupboard everything we need to start a day and provided by the owner ( coffee tea sugar etc...) The beds were confortable and it was a pleasure to have dish washer and washing machine
not always possible in Parisian apartments. The bathroom is very convenient and the separate toilets too.
The building is 18th Century and the staircases is not in good shape but you don t live in it, and you can hear people walking sometime to time, but that is not the fault of the owner... it is not a 21st Century building with out ssoul or charm... The location is great and amazing we walked everywhere like Parisians. Groceries stores nearby the apt and lot of good restaurants. We were nearby the Luxembourg garden and the Seine river, walking distance to Notre Dame et more. Again with the help of the owner we took the metro and buses without a problem
I want to go back, thank you for this amazing journey
Did you ever wonder what happened to all the unwanted furniture left over at the end of a large yard sale? What happened to the old cracked and chipped mugs donated to Goodwill? Where mismatched plates, cutlery and towels went to die? Well, wonder no more! All of this worthless clutter has found a home in Paris, France.
The building is relatively easy to find, and in a great location. The entrance to the building is quite nice, but the actual apartment is a hovel. When we initially found the stairwell leading to the unit, I told my daughter to leave the area because it was obviously an abandoned set of stairs in an unused portion of the building. The lighting was provided by 40 watt bulbs, the paint was peeling from the walls and the door jamb in pieces as large as sheets of paper, and new paint had not been applied in decades. I was quite incorrect. This was indeed the entrance to our rental. And, as a bonus, the room for garbage and recyclables was conveniently located adjacent to the foot of the stairs.
You enter into the kitchen. The “loft” bedroom is directly over the cooking area. The loft can easily be used by dwarves, midgets, elves and children under the age of five. But, only house the children you care least about there, because if they do not get hurt climbing up and down the loft ladder, they may fall to their death from between the widely spaced balusters. The space for standing in the loft is only about four to four-and-a-half feet high
The TV gets one French info channel. But your neighbors will be playing an assortment of different music to keep you entertained - sometimes simultaneously. And usually well into the night.
You will hear many conversations through the walls and the windows. You will also hear every foot that hits one of the steps all day and night. Construction in the building begins at 8AM and continues until they decide to stop.
The main bedroom is the highlight of the unit. The 3 inch thick mattress and springs sit 6 inches off the floor. The pillows are old, flat things from a long discarded sofa, and are about one-third the size of a normal bed pillow.
The washing machine and dishwasher work. The shower is okay. There is hot water.
This place needs massive amounts of work. The stairwell needs to be scraped and painted IMMEDIATELY! Lighting needs to be upgraded to a minimum of 60 and 75 watt bulbs. New furniture, dishes, cups and cutlery need to be obtained.
