This guest house is set atop twenty three acres of rolling green hills in the country. There are beautiful oak trees with spanish moss that surround the land. Two lakes that are welcomed to be fished, friendly horses, and plenty of space to feel privacy and to get some rest. The house includes a kitchenette, bathroom, and queen-sized murphy bed. Our guests are welcome to enjoy the land, picnic, walk the property, and much more.
True to its description, this guest house makes you feel like you are living in the country. With chickens to call the morning, each relaxing day starts with the call of nature. Fishing in the pond and small adjacent lake was inviting and rewarding. Everything made us feel like we had stepped into a picture of what country life should be. If you choose to stay here, make sure to go to Flora to eat at Bill's. That was an unexpected treat.
We did not want to leave. Beauty and serenity found in nature without crap like social media needed to fill your day. Shower was hot; the room was clean, and the trees were tall.
Had a wonderully enjoyable time and took advantage of all the available amenities. Fish fishing experience for our 4 yr old boy at he caught 5 by himself and over 20 total for all of us. Personal petting garments animals and the sweet Lilah are perfect for entertaining a little one. Definitely a must do again place for relaxation.
Very clean and cozy. Loved the music playing for us when we got in.
It is hard to explain our experience in words, truly an amazing place where you can feel God's presence! Mrs. Judith is the sweetest hostess and we will miss her and Lilah! It is truly a fisherman's paradise and that's what we love to do so we couldn't have picked a better place to spend our anniversary, it is a perfect cozy cabin for couples!! The pictures do not do this place justice, it is simply breathtaking! Much Love from the Perez's
This property lived up to it's name "weekend getaway" in more ways than one. We were in need of some time for reflection and grieving after the loss of my mother. This guest house also named "The Resting Place" gave us that and more. Not only was it beautiful, cozy and comfortable, the owner Ms. Judy and her family were the ultimate hosts of a weekend we both needed. Incidentally, I had booked the property for some privacy from the hustle and bustle of city life and respite from being a family caregiver; however, a few days later my mother passed away. It became a time I really needed to grieve and I was able to reflect on her life and my loss while enjoying a little piece of heaven on earth. We greatly enjoyed the blonde shepherd named Lilah who is the ultimate caretaker of the property and the most loving pet you'll ever meet. It was clean and safe and we enjoyed the animals, some fishing, swinging in the great moss covered trees and a short drive into town to enjoy some local cuisine. Just as Autumn begins to show it's beauty, we enjoyed the pumpkin patch and little ones coming for hay rides and laughter. It wasn't what I expected when I booked the property, but it gave me much more than I anticipated. The movies in the guest house were perfect to minister to me, the wi-fi was excellent quality, the stereo was playing my favorite music and the entire lodging was just absolutely perfect. I hope to be able to travel and stay there again when we need to get away from it all. It gave us such a peace that we would have never found anywhere else. The guestbook shared review after review of similar stories so I know that the Lowery family is offering much more than a place to lay your head. I hope you will consider booking this guest house and are able to find what you need after staying there as we did.
