Charming Rustic Cabin Lake Superior Lakeview
About Doreen Pavlik
We purchased this property in 2003 as an interim destination until, and while, we built our waterfront dream cabin in 2013 nearby. We loved every minute of our stay in this little rustic cabin. We purchased waterfront in 1994 with the dream of building on it, but until that was possible, we enjoyed this little cabin. We have developed a love for the beauty and rustic feel of the UP. This little cabin has the feel of waterfront, the smell of waterfront, the sound of waterfront, and a partial view like waterfront....but just a short walk across the street to the public access. It's our joy to offer a stay for your relaxation and break from the media saturated world around you and retreat to a slower pace, with campfires, beach walks, hiking, swimming and many fun filled day trips.

Why Doreen Pavlik chose Brimley
This property is a break from the fast pace media saturated world. No in house internet access, but locally available, no cable TV, limited local stations with a VHS video player, totally "old school" complete with a selection of movies. It's our hope that our guests will be so busy enjoying the outdoor beauty, day trips and playing games with family that media won't be necessary except for a nice cup of coffee at the Dancing Crane Coffee Shop to "check up" on your Facebook or emails with their free WiFi access just 3 miles down Lakeshore Dr. The smell of real firewood burning in the woodstove touches off the rustic ambiance of those cool UP evenings or a campfire with marshmellows roasting or hot dogs lightly charred!
What makes this Cabin unique
Watching freighters passing on their way through to the Soo Locks and on to the St.Lawrence Seaway. Breathtaking sunsets and beautiful "public" beach that only the locals know about right across the street, long walks on the beach and the beautiful vintage Point Iroquois Lighthouse just a short walk down the beach is a destination in itself.

Nice stay in Brimley
Very nice cottage, was everything that we were told it would be. Clean, good location and a nice, quiet setting!!!
Great cabin, beautiful location
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this rustic cabin. It’s my second stay and the recent furnishings upgrades made the stay even better. Doreen really takes the time to make your stay more comfortable by providing all the staples needed. The area has so many gorgeous places to see. The nearby beach is beautiful, convenient and great for swimming. This cabin is a great place to stay!
Renting the house was easy the road in front was very busy fast moving cars
Thought was more on the beach
The charming cabin is quite comfortable, even with three teenagers. Our hosts were wonderful to work with and really did ensure our 6-night stay was enjoyable. Although having a cozy rustic feel, the cabin is well provisioned.
There was so much to do that is nearby! The Lake Superior sunsets are stunning. We were able to make day trips to Sault Ste Marie, Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon, Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island and much more.
Even our teenagers thrived without their internet and wi-fi. We absolutely LOVED our visit!
Thank you for the wonderful family memories,
It was just as described! No frills but everything you need! Great central location or if you just want to stick around there is plenty to do!
Great location & charming cabin
I had a great stay at the cabin! The updated furniture really made the place feel well decorated. Doreen has anticipated almost every need so that you feel the hospitality. I loved the close access to the beach and found myself going back again and again to walk. There are several great places to visit within walking distance of the cabin and more within a short drive.
I had zero cell signal at the cabin (T-Mobile) and the cabin does not have internet access. I'm very glad I had the foresite to get a cheap pre-paid hotspot for that location so I wasn't completely cut off - something to consider.
A note for any craft beer enthusiasts - the IGA in Brimley has a build-your-own 6-pack of craft beers. Also, I got a fabulous pizza from Superior Pizza & Subs.
I loved the cabin and the area! I didn't get to do everything I wanted, so I definitely hope to go back in the not too distant future!
Happy you enjoyed yourself! Thank you for acknowledging our efforts to create a cozy, charming, relaxing but rustic experience for our guests. Enjoyed hosting you.
