A trellis archway stretches the entire length of the home's entrance where, in the green season, morning glories cover the drive and invite you in. You will have a private code to enter the gates. There is no dedicated parking space for this unit, but parking may be possible depending on occupancy of the entire unit.

Our property manager, Yira, will be in touch on the app with directions and check-in information. She’s a wealth of information if you need her for questions about the area and if you need anything at the property. Our groundskeeper comes by periodically.
We are happy to welcome your pup, but please let us know beforehand and ensure they are well-behaved. We ask that you clean up after your dogand not leave them unattended to avoid any damage or disruption to the property. Please note that we can only accommodate dogs and no other types of pets, and we don't allow smoking on the premises.
Monkeys (and sometimes Iguanas and occasionally other animals) will often enjoy the Monkey Walk leading to the property, hence the name! They are one of the many attractions of Costa Rica, and you may hear them from time to time outside of the window.
As is common in Tamarindo, there are critters and it's part of the way of life here. Tamarindo also experiences brief power outages regularly.
As vibrant as Tamarindo is, we do have quiet time between 11 pm and 7 am so neighbors can enjoy their rest.
We have a pack and play / crib in storage - please request in advance so we can set it out for you at check-in time.
The whole property is gated, but the pool does not have a separate gate. Please use with caution. Please be sure to read / follow the house rules regarding pool use.
HOUSE MANUAL / RULES
We invite you to make yourself at home during your stay.
All televisions are smart tvs (except in master bedroom, main house) equipped with Netflix, internet, Bluetooth, etc. Press the Home button for the smart TV and press input 1 for regular tv. Channels are available in both English and Spanish. To change the language of a particular show, press Audio and select the preferred language and then Audio off.
On demand hot water is available. Water is a very precious and valuable commodity everywhere, but particularly in our area which has experienced significant droughts and can actually run out of supply. We ask everyone to do their part to help save the water:
- don't leave faucets running
- turn off faucet when brushing teeth or hand washing dishes
- Use dishwasher / washing machine for full loads only
- limit your shower time to five minutes or less
- reuse towels
- notify us of any leaks
- do not use garden hose to wash your vehicles
Due to the monkeys and iguanas climbing on local power lines, it is possible that you may experience a flicker or temporary power outage. In this case, the hot water heater will power off. Simply press the power button on the tankless hot water system located under the kitchen sink.
You'll find a safe for use under the kitchen sink.
If, for any reason, the power stays out for a period of time when you need to access the double gate for your car, we do have a key in a lockbox that will allow you to open the gates manually. Please contact us if this happens and we will provide you the code. The keys will go in at the top corner of each of the gates – you must be very careful to not turn too hard or it will break the key! You are provided a key for the gate for access to the gate door, so you can always access gate door regardless.
Air conditioners are controlled with the remote. They are very quick to cool your space and you can adjust the settings to your preference. We ask that every guest please help conserve our precious natural resources by powering off the ACs any time you are not in the room. This is GREATLY appreciated.
Please be mindful of the volume after 11 pm as we do have neighbors. The outdoor lights are on a timer that turn off at 11 pm.
Filled garbage bags need to be tied and put in bins. You’ll go outside the gate in the driveway, and there is a covered black metal bin next to gate keypad. Once you dispose of your trash bag, please be sure the lid is able to close all the way. We all know about those monkeys and other animals roaming around by now!
Toilets – as is very common in most of Costa Rica and the rest of Central America, nothing gets flushed down the toilets. There are waste bins in every bathroom. This is something you will get used to as you spend time in Central America.
Lastly, please note that our home is not to be used for any commercial purposes without prior approval and permits, and that you are expected to follow all local, state, and federal laws. Thank you!

Pool towels and accessories are located in the brown bin by the pool. The white towels inside are for inside use only.
Because the pool is part of your private, gated experience, there is no lifeguard on duty. We want you to have fun, but it is important for everyone’s safety that you follow the pool rules:

Turn things off: We ask that guests help conserve energy / protect our precious resources by turning off a/c units when not in the rooms and at check-out time.
