About Laura Muir

My husband and I are the owners and managers of the property. We live nearby and are very responsive should any problems arise but if they don't we are happy that you can enjoy your vacation. I take pride in cleaning the property for each and every guest and want to know if it does not meet or exceed your expectations!!

Laura Muir purchased this house in 2002

Why Laura Muir chose Harwich - Harwichport

The house is well-furnished and roomy enough for 8 adults, whether you are here for a week of summer vacation, attending a wedding, or just getting away with friends.

What makes this house unique

The kitchen, dining area, and living room are all open and roomy, easily allowing 8 adults to be in the same area of one another without feeling in each others way. The laundry is on the same floor in its own room just off the kitchen. The house is bright all day long with the sun rising on the kitchen side and setting on the living room side. The driveway can easily accommodate multiple vehicles.

Fantastic house in a great location in Harwich

  • 5 of 5

The accommodations were fantastic. Everything leading up to our stay was very easy and getting into the place was also easy. When we arrived it was spotless. It didn't feel like a rental home. We rent every year on the Cape and you always feel like you're in a rental...that you're in someone else's home. This home was great. It's perfect for a family with young children since they have everything you might need (bunk beds!, children's books, games, children's plates and cups, etc). The backyard was great with games and a (new?) outdoor shower. Large deck to dine or relax. The fact that we didn't have to pack toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc made packing so much easier.

Great Harwich location with easy access to Chatham, Harwich center, and we even drove to some beaches in Dennis and the drive wasn't bad at all.

We would definitely stay here again if we stay in Harwich!

Owner's Response: We too have stayed in vacation rentals that seem to have what I call "owner debris", you open the dresser drawers and there is no room for your own clothes and the kitchen Is full of "their" food. This home is for you to enjoy during your stay!!

Cape Vacation House

  • 5 of 5

Laura Muir's house is advertised as "Clean, Bright and Spacious; Family Friendly". That description does not do it justice. Yes it is clean, bright and spacious.... but it is a lot more. All the rooms are extremely comfortable and Laura provides all the extras to make sure you will have a successful stay. Plenty of linens, dishes, glasses, pots, pans and utensils. You could not ask for more. There was even a large enough pot to steam 3 two pound lobsters which was absolutely great (both the pot and the lobsters). We were too busy to use the basement game room but we appreciated the fact that it was available. Over the short, 3 day period we were there, Laura's place definitely felt like home. One other feature that might be taken for granted is the fact that all the bedrooms and the living/family room had air conditioning. That was a very important feature as we did have 90 degree weather. Laura provides secure WIFI which was very easy to access. She also provides considerable background on neighboring restaurants and activities. In summary, it is a great place and I wouldn't hesitate to rent it again and I recommend it without reservation.

Great house, very clean, centrally located.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this house. It was convenient to get to Brewster, Chatham, and Orleans. The house was very clean and the game room was awesome (ping pong, air hockey, media room, bar). My only complaint was the very small grill, other than that this house is perfect!

Owner's Response: Yes, we agree the grill is small; a larger one is arriving soon!!

comfortable, clean property in quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Typically when our family goes back east for vacation, we end our trip with a couple of nights on Cape Cod. This time we decided we would like to spend a week on the Cape and decided a vacation rental would be the way to go. Not having done this before we were a little nervous. I read reviews and found myself limited because we really needed a Friday-Friday stay rather than a Saturday-Saturday stay in order to be back in TX for my daughters summer band. Most properties were Saturday-Saturday but Laura was willing to be flexible with this, for which I was so appreciative. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and a nice central location for going either direction on the Cape. Although the home is not on the beach, the central location more than made up for that. Our favorite beach, Head of the Meadows, was easy to get to from this location. Downtown Chatham was a short drive where we found shopping, free evening concerts, and the Anglers baseball games for evening entertainment. The home was clean and welcoming. Cleanliness is a necessity when we are renting like this. Everything we needed we found in the well stocked kitchen. Towels and bedding were provided, a big plus when you are already packing for an extended vacation and don't want to have to take up space with these bulky items. Having a nice laundry area was wonderful after a day at the beach. I would get everything clean and dried & ready for the next trip to the beach. There were also beach chairs and games that were available to us. The basement has a theater/game room. We were so busy we didn't use the theater but our daughters loved going down and playing ping pong and air hockey when we had a few minutes. Laura was very readily accessible, checking in with text a couple of times to make sure there was nothing we needed. We loved our week and hope when we return in 2 years to have the opportunity to stay again.

Perfect Cape house with large backyard!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience with this East Harwich property. The home is located very close to all the essential "cape" activities, such as downtown, beaches, and great restaurants. Additionally the home is near a grocery store for anything you need. The homeowner had the house stocked with all the essentials from linens to beach towels and and enough space for our group comfortably. The deck and outdoor shower were a huge hit and the large backyard offered space for activities. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would recommend this home to all of our friends and family.

Owner's Response: We are always pleased to hear how the property is described! We also try to make sure the house has a basic supply of kitchen necessities such as spices, oil, napkins, etc. We are glad the deck was a hit; it had just been resurfaced and enlarged providing easy, clean access to and from the new outdoor shower.
