About Marida Musso
Marida Musso purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Marida Musso chose Santa Flavia
What makes this Villa unique
I moved from Palermo to S. Flavia just one year ago. Santa Flavia is a wonderful place among sea, mountains, nature and art, where you can find a lot of kind people and spend your life as you were always on holidays. Villa Paladino Solunto is a small paradise between history and nature, adiacent to the Archaeological Park of Solunto and the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano and close to nice fishing villages where you can find everything you need. In only 15 minutes by train you can get Palermo or Cefalù. I love look at spectacular sunsets on the Gulf of Palermo and the wonderful Monte Pellegrino ("The most beautiful promontory of the world") walking in the garden. What about swimming near the underwater archaeological site of Formica and together with dolphins?

The pool was fabulous and the location good for access to local places of interest, particularly Palermo, Cefalu and Monreal. Nearby, Portofino provided a small selection of good pizzerias. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and the holiday complex felt safe and secure as it is a gated complex.
Dear Katrina, I'm glad you liked my home and the surroundings.
Porticello (not Portofino, it is in LIguria) is a small fishing village, where you can find good pizzerias and good restaurants.
I don't know what you didn't like (your review has only 3 and not 5 stars)
Great holiday - We loved Sicily
A Peaceful location which is ideal for exploring north / north east Sicily. The accommodation is well equipped and the pool is ideal for relaxing. The owner could not be more helpful and knows the local area well. Palermo airport is a 50 min drive. A car is recommended. We stayed as a family of 4 with younger children but the accommodation is equally suited to couples. We found the people friendly, the food fantastic and the ice cream amazing. Local restaurants are a 5-10 mins drive.
Dear friends, we're very glad you had great holidays, enjoied and fell in love with Sicily. You're wonderful guests and lovely friends.
We really hope to meet you again.
Marida and Beppe are very nice hosts, very attentive and helpful. The place is perfectly designed and nested on the slope of the hill, the same hill where the ancient town Solunto is located, it's just on the opposite side of the hill. The place is very peaceful and quiet, the location allows easily reach all the sights of the island. Palermo is just 20 minutes to drive from the place.
I'm very glad you had a wonderful stay in my home, you enjoied in the pool and relaxed in the garden and in your lodge. We always do our best to give our guests the best holidays. You were very nice guests and friends too. I'd be very happy if you came back. All the best!
I'm glad you enjoied your holidays in my home. I hope to see you as soon as possible. All the best
Is it your first time in Sicily? I'm sure you'll be enchanted by sunny Sicily, its nature, its sky and sea, its culture, its food and wine, its colors and its scents, its people ... and you'll like to come back a lot of other times.
Sicily ... is SICILY!!!!!
Santa Flavia is a wonderful place among sea, mountains, nature and art, where you and your children can enjoy and spend unforgettable holidays.
Villa Paladino Solunto is a fascinating and enchanting site, between history and nature. It is a small complex of 5 suites smartly standing on a lush hill, emerging on the ridge of the wonderful promontory of Monte Catalfano, adiacent to the Archaeological Park of Solunto and the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano. It is also a strategic point to easily go sightseeing Palermo, Monreale, Cefalù, Caccamo, Agrigento, Mozia, Erice, the Natural Reserve of Zingaro, the National Natural Madonie Park and many other places of great tourist interest.
The distance from sea (beaches sandy or pebbles) is only mt 800.
It is very near to Palermo (Km.10, 30 minutes by car and 20 by train).
You can look at spectacular sunsets on the sea sitting on the benches and deck chairs around the wonderful pool similar to a natural lake in the middle of a large Mediterranean garden. You can also look at the Gulf of Palermo and Monte Pellegrino too ("The most beautiful promontory of the world", said Goethe, the well known German poet who came in Sicily in 19th century) while swimming in the pool (May-October).
Near the coast, there is the underwater archaeological site of Formica. 200 meters away from the Villa (5- 10 minutes by feet). you may visit the touristic village of Santa Flavia and the fishing villages of Porticello and S.Elia, full of shops, bar, resturants and pizzerias, where you can taste delicious Sicilian dishes. It 's possible to go in less than an hour from the sea to the mountain, taking part in sightseeing, excursions in the great Madonie National Park (alt m. 2000. Boat trips with skipper in the clear waters around the Scoglio della Formica (the Rock of the Ant), home of dolphins, up to the Aeolian Islands and fishing can be arranged not only in summer.
I can put at your disposal a washing machine in the property.
The pool is shared with the 5 suites inside the property. I can host not more than 16 people. I can assure you that you will have the impression that the pool is only for you, because my guests alternate relax in the pool with the tours of Palermo or nearby. So, a lot of times you don't find anybody in the pool and it is all for you.
If you hire a car, I have a large parking inside the villa and you are more free to go in every place and in every time you like
The train station of Santa Flavia is very near to my villa. You can easily go by train (15 minutes, E. 2,20/person) to Palermo and then go sightseeing Palermo by a red touristic bus that stops in the most important touristic places. The ticket is for all the day (HOP ON-HOP OFF). The same pullman goes to the well-known Duomo of Monreale, the lovely beach of Mondello ...You can easily go to Cefalù by train too.
On the website trenitalia VIAGGIATRENO you can see the schedule times of trains.
If you prefer, I can put at your disposal a taxi driver to go sighseeing Sicily and for the transferfrom the airport of Palermo/Trapani and back. If you prefer, you may take the pullmam Prestia e Comandè (www,http://orariautobus.it/autobus-per-aeroporto/prestia-comande.html) from the Airport to the Train Station of Palermo and then the train to Santa Flavia.
I hope I've been clear and useful for you.
