2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage on Lake Superior
Cummins Camp is nestled in the woods on the shore of Lake Superior. The front windows afford views of a woodland pond, Lake Superior and the city of Marquette in the distance. A short walk will take you to miles of clean sugar sand beach and crystal clear water. Ducks, geese, herons and eagles are frequent visitors.
Downtown Marquette is 4 miles away. At the end of the driveway is the Iron Ore Heritage Trail/North Country Scenic Trail. It connects to other hiking and biking trail systems in Marquette. This is a non-motorized trail in the summer and snowmobile trail in the winter. Marquette Mountain (downhill skiing), and several cross country ski trails, including the Noquemanon trail network are within 10 miles.
Cummins Camp has a large living room and kitchen, 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a double, and two bathrooms on the main floor. There is an additional double bed in the finished basement. There is a screened porch on the back and a deck overlooking the lake. Amenities include dish washer, washer and dryer, cable tv, wi-fi and a wood burning fireplace. There is no land line and no air conditioning (the lake usually provides its own cool air).

This cabin has it all!!!
We spent two weeks at this cabin in August and were pleasantly surprised about the amenities for a rental. It truly has it all, you can bake, you can cook, you can drink and there is an item for everything. The location is perfect overlooking Lake Superior. We took daily walks on the beach and by the neighborhood. It's 10 minutes away to downtown Marquette, you can explore the town, walk the harbor, the parks, Presque Isle, Sugarloaf, go shopping, eat out and more. We ate at the Vierlings, Donkers, Jean Kate's pasties, Elizabeth Chop House, Sol Azteca, etc. Huron's bakery was an excellent find, went there almost daily for fresh bread, great selection too. We also loved the coop market on Washington St. and the small Q market close to the bakery and Saturday's the farmers market. The washer and dryer worked great for us too!!! It was also convenient to go on a day trip to Munising to visit Pictured Rocks and drive to Hancock/Houghton and Calumet as well as Copper Harbor. My only suggestion is to have a queen bed instead of a double on the second bedroom, specially for couples. I highly recommend it, you can't go wrong.!!!
Just wanted to thanks for such a wonderful place to stay. We both enjoyed the quite nights watching the lake and walks along the beach looking for superior lake stones to add to our collection back home. Cummins camp was the perfect kick off for our many day rides to visit Marquette, Iron Mtn/Escanaba, Hought/Copper Harbor and Picture Rocks. We loved watching the freighters come in and out and watching them load and unload at the Orr docks. Really glad we found this place. We will definitely be back.

4 of us were there June 10 -15 2016. The place is great, very quiet and close enough to just about anything you want to do including picture rocks back in Munising. Very clean and a great view, and if you dont want to do anything you dont have to. Nice walking or bike path about 100yds away or you can walk the beach. Jean was a great host!
Wonderful cottage with spectacular lake view
We loved Jean's cottage on Lake Superior. Spacious, with all clean, modern conveniences, and close to town in case we needed anything, but still so quiet at night that we only heard the frogs in the pond, crickets, and the waves crashing on the shore. The fireplace was nice on a cool, rainy day. Wish we could have stayed a month! Highly recommended.
Beautiful, clean and comfortible with a great view, very friendly and helpful owners.
The cottage was very clean and spacious, well maintained. Has a beautiful view of Lake Superior. We could not have been happier with our accomodations. The owners were very helpful and friendly. A great experience!!
enjoyed our stay in Marquette and at Cummins Cabin. the home had everything we needed and was close to downtown and other local attractions. great view of the lake. very clean and comfortable(including the pillows!). had one issue when there and Jean was easily available to answer our questions. very quiet and somewhat secluded. definitely would return and recommend to others. much better than a hotel room!!!!
