River front house 2.5 miles from downtown Leavenworth.
Situated right on a low bank of the Icicle river, two and a half miles from downtown Leavenworth. Bike, kayak, or raft from the house to town. Three bedrooms, two baths, the house sleeps six. There is a large private yard and trees all around. Deer and waterfowl abound. A nice deck with gas BBQ, piano, guitar, foosball table, games and books guarantee ample diversions. Bring your ( well behaved ) dog and let the fun begin.
Peaceful, Christmas stay!

About Scott Chamberlin
I'm a Merchant Seaman, semi retired now. I have worked in many locations around the world, which is reflected in some of the art work in the house.
Scott Chamberlin purchased this house in 1982
Why Scott Chamberlin chose Central Cascade Mountains
My parents built this house and the one next door in the early 70's when there were only a handful of houses on Shore St.
What makes this house unique
This property consists of 2.5 acres with 600' of river frontage. Most of the property is wooded and I maintain it as a wildlife refuge. The property across the river, because of waterway regulations, does not and will not have any structures, so it also serves as a de facto wildlife refuge. As a consequence, there is often a lot of wildlife. It is not at all unusual to see deer in the yard. Occasionally one will be lucky enough to see a bear or coyote as well. For those who like birds, it is a wonderful location where you can see a wide variety of songbirds, waterfowl, eagles, hawks and ospreys. There is access to the river right off the spacious deck, for kayaking, rafting, wading, or fishing (in season). In a couple of hours (depending on the river height) you can raft or tube to town.
In spite of the feeling of seclusion, you are only a little over two miles from downtown Leavenworth, an easy bike ride, or even a pleasant walk away.

Peaceful, Christmas stay!
We had a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay at this comfortable, well-loved home! The home is very comfortable, clean and well maintained. It was a prefect Christmas stay for our family and our loving 92-year old Mom. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Our family had the opportunity to stay in Scott's rental over the New Years weekend and it was a great stay! Before we got there Scott warned us that the oven stove top had just been cracked by the renters before us, and I was grateful that he called me verses me having to call him. Stove still worked fine and it sounded like he was planning to replace it.
The views of the river this property has are fantastic! The yard was completely usable (even with the 6-8 inches of snow!) Scott either pays for someone to plow the driveway after a heavy snowfall, or a neighbor does it out of kindness, either way - it was much appreciated! The beds were comfortable, showers hot and enough room to not feel like we were ever too crowded. One of the best parts is not having to clean on the last day! We got to relax on our last morning, enjoy a big breakfast and just pack up our things. Not having to do laundry, vacuum or even dishes ( :-O !!!) was amazing. Definitely recommend to friends and family, and would definitely stay again ourselves.
Con: (if any) there was no plastic wrap or foil to cover left overs with. Aside from that incredibly minor/silly detail, everything was perfect!
Beautiful and comfortable!
Our family traveled over winter break to get some fun time in the snow, and enjoy the Leavenworth lights and shops. We had a fabulous stay at this house. We loved the smart TV, as our teenage daughters love Netflix! The view was breathtaking, and the place was cozy and comfortable. We look forward to visiting during the summer! The owner was absolutely wonderful to work with--accommodating and responsive. We definitely recommend.
Nice spot on the Icicle River
House is as advertised. Nice location on the Icicle. Sleeps 6 comfortably.
Great place to stay!
We had a wonderful time staying at the house to celebrate my husband's birthday. The house is comfortable, has everything you need and a great deck overlooking the river. Access to the river did not work for us - as the website stated, it is a little bit of a steep incline to get to the water. We still enjoyed the view of the river and seeing deer, birds and other wildlife. The air conditioning was welcome and needed! It was 100 degrees a couple of the days we were there but the air conditioning and fans kept it nice and cool inside. Scott, the owner, was great to work with. We will be looking forward to taking our entire family some time next year.
Great River Experience
The house was well appointed overall and had everything we needed. The setting was quiet and private. The house was clean although a bit dusty. Having the laundry available was nice for towels and 3 bedrooms really worked well for our family. The air conditioning was nice to have in July. The house had bottled water, soap, shampoo, and all the other things you need to have an easy stay. We brought our dog with us, who was able to hang out on the large deck while we were off tubing or eating sausages.
Really great about the house was the location on the Icicle River. Literally a walk off the deck, down a small embankment, and into the river. There is a big sandbar in front of the house (at least in late July) and public access to the river a few houses down. All weekend long the tubing trips from the professional companies in Leavenworth were cruising by + lots of kids using the public access made for great fun. We loaded up the ice chest and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves for a few nice hot July days.
It's a short drive up to the fish hatchery to put your tubes into water. Plenty of parking and about a 10 minute bike ride from the house to pick up the car. You can float for about 40 minutes from the hatchery and arrive right at the house. The bike ride into town was about 2.5 miles, which we were able to do with the kids in about 15 minutes.

One dog is allowed if well behaved. But the dog is not to be left in the house when nobody is there. A run is provided to secure the dog when necessary. You are required to clean up after the dog. If we have to do it, there will be an additional fee of $125 ( we really don't want to clean up dog crap ).
