3 Bedroom 5 Bath Home With Bunkroom And 900 Sq Ft Out Building With Beach Access
Why Darnell Foskett chose Hoodsport
This property has been a popular scuba diving destination for over 20 years. It is within just a few hours of Seattle and Portland Oregon. The hood canal is known world wide for its large pacific octopus, seals, occasional resident Orcas, Wolf Eels, Crab, squid etc... The canal is unique that most diving is done by shore and the weather has never cancelled a dive. BEYOND the diving it is a great location at the foot of the Olympic mountains. The house is located north of Shelton but less than an hour from Olympia, Washington. You can choose to go hiking, kayaking, crabbing, fishing, golfing or relaxing at a local casino, all within an hours drive. It is the perfect place to get away, without having to drive for hours. You are able to change your mind or plans with little effort. Most everyone in your group can be accommodated. This house has grown from a divers paradise to a group getaway paradise.
What makes this House unique
The house was a farm house built sometime in the 1900's (?) so the locals say. Nobody knows for sure. The house still boasts its unique character - cedar walls, long front porch and a barn on site. The house is solid wood on the upper floors. When you first walk in you see the exposed cedar ceiling and wood floors. We have updated the property to modern conveniences, without losing the charm of the 1920's farm house. The windows are updated vinyl, but were built to replace the original wood windows with leaded glass. You get the charm of an old farm house by the water with modern day conveniences.

Delighted that the Yellow House continues to be home for many! Each of our guests becomes part of the family and many return!
House was great for our large crew. Kitchen was well outfitted. Hot tub was appreciated. Road in front busy & a little noisy but still worth it. A market & restaurants very close. We had a great time!
We keep the home well stocked with staples so guests do not have to pack a lot of extra supplies. Groups of all sizes are welcome to enjoy all that the Yellow House , property and beach have to offer.
Perfect for a mini family reunion!
Our extended family met up here to celebrate an 80th birthday party. The house and property were lovely, and the fact that it was stocked with condiments and necessary staples made it SO much easier to get here from our various far-away locales. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch just enjoying the view and visiting. We saw sea lions and all kinds of birds.
The grocery store is a short walk away, and you can easily drive a short distance to enjoy a lovely forest hike, or play golf.
Memory making Celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, reunions and time with loved ones is our goal!
There is ample room for all to stay. Parking is great!
We stayed for three days and every thing was amazing. Questions answered in a prompt way. Stairs are steep but has a bedroom on main level for those unable to climb stairs. Family loves hot tub and fire pit. Nice patio fenced in great for dogs. Parking is great lots of space. Great location !
Mildew too strong. Had to leave after first night
The property is ideally located, full stocked and offers plenty of room. The downfall for us was that the basement was damp and had strong smells of mold and mildew. We, had come from a ways away and did not want to turn around, our kids were very excited and wanted to go for it regardless. Unfortunately we could not complete our two night stay because one of our kids had a strong reaction to the mildew. It was pretty bad and we should not have attempted to stay. I checked to see if there was a refund available assuming this was out of the ordinary because of previous reviews, but I was told that they had the basement tested and it passed inspection and they have a no-refund policy.
Not sure if this was an aberration, but its a problem. At least for us. Only one kid had a physical reaction, but everything that spent the night in the basement, including people continues to have very strong smells of mildew after being gone for a day and multiple showers.
I hope they get this taken care of, it has a lot to offer if they can dry out and clean up.
Yes, this issue is an anomaly! No mold or mildew has ever been detected in our bunk area.
This should have been brought to our attention immediately and we would have been there Pronto to deal with it . Since you waited until after you checked out to communicate with us, there is no refund. Mother Nature delivered extremely humid weather during your stay with us. We checked the home after being informed of your departure and found no evidence of moisture. It is unfortunate that you had this experience. We shall continue to be diligent in keeping the Yellow House in excellent condition to provide
our guests with an enjoyable stay!
Perfect for Divers
We loved the staging and drying rooms. The house was very well equipped - especially the kitchen, clean and comfortable.
