Rustler's Roost Guest House was just as described and just what we wanted.

  • 5 of 5

Rustler's Roost Guest House was perfect. It was clean and private. We could hear the river flowing. The Autumn colors were in full bloom. My husband caught and released many fish from the Shoshone River while we were there. I wanted a quiet, peaceful place to read and relax. This is it. We had our dog there and she was comfortable too. Short trip into town of Cody. Everything you need is there. We are planning to go back and would also highly recommend Rustler's Roost Guest House to everybody.

Couldn't Have Picked A Better Place

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of four and we could not have chosen a better location for our 7 day stay in Cody. First the owners Diana & George were very hospitable and friendly as were their two dogs and two mules. They were very helpful with wildlife viewing tips, where to shop and where to eat. The cabin while being somewhat rustic in appearance was very comfortable with plenty of room and all modern conveniences, the beds slept well, the kitchen was well stocked with plenty of cooking utensils, the bathroom was large, plenty of parking and the beautiful Shoshone River was just steps from the back deck of the cabin. Located a short ways out from Cody, we enjoyed every trip to and from the cabin where we were able to view whitetail deer, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, rabbits, eagles, magpies, hawks, ducks, pelicans and Canada geese along side the road and in the fields. If you are planning to be in this area, don't miss this opportunity to share in this heavenly location.

Rustler's Roost

  • 5 of 5

Owners Diana & George live on site and are very helpful and friendly yet allow you your privacy. They are class act people! We (2 adults) visited during winter time (Feb). The cabin is cozy and suit our needs to a tee. It has every amenity a person could need plus a few extras. The property is situated directly on the Shoshone River which is extremely scenic. It is off the beaten path, not next to any major traffic or city noise. The only sounds you hear is that of the river. I'd say Shhhh..... one of the best kept secrets around.

Location

From the Owner

Real cattle rustlers homesteaded this sight, hence the name "Rustler's Roost". Walk the same ground as Mountain Man John Coulter on his way to discover what is now Yellowstone National Park. This area was winter camp ground to the Shoshone Indians.
