About Louise Croome
Louise & Adrian have owned Ford Wetley Cottage since 2008, they have renovated it over the years and have installed new bathrooms, exposed stone walls, put in new carpets and wooden floors, Log burning stove, Wifi and all beds and furniture are new. The final addition was a new kitchen last year. They have a passion for making this cottage really special as they have had plenty of experience in staying in cottages themselves and have had their share of good and bad, which they understand can really make the difference to your holiday experience. They live in the house along a track from the cottage so are generally on hand in case of any problems or if help is needed.
Louise Croome purchased this Farmhouse in 2008
Why Louise Croome chose Leek
Everyone who visits Ford Wetley Cottage remarks on how special it is, especially the location. It really is a unique spot, away from everyone and anything, other than nature, wildlife and farmland. Very peaceful, tranquil and it really gives you the chance to relax and unwind. There is plenty of outdoor space for kids to explore and keep themselves occupied. There are streams for paddling and netting cray fish. A rope swing for the more adventurous and our ponies, cats, dogs and chickens which our visitors love to come and help feed and collect eggs.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
It is not very often that you can sit still and not hear the roar of traffic, Ford Wetley Cottage is at the end of a dead end track and there really is nothing to hear other than birds and the wind blowing in the trees. Kids love the freedom to explore and play in our fields. For the nature enthusiast, there are swallows who nest in our barns in May, a buzzard who feeds from mice in our fields, regular sightings of bats, badgers, fox and you can hear the owls if you are lucky. See if you can find the fox tracks down the lane, hear the woodpeckers or spot the Buzzard feeding.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Superb family home base
Ford Wetley Cottage was the perfect spot for a family get together in the Peak District. Impeccably clean, rustic, and homey, we loved spending our mornings and evenings in the cottage or in the garden. Everything we could possibly need and more is there! Thank you Louise and Adrian for a wonderful stay!
Thank you for choosing Ford Wetley Cottage for your stay. Glad you enjoyed your time here. Louise
Had the most amazing few days here, cottage is absolutely bliss. Like a dream when u are there out in the country in this little palace with all of the home comforts needed. Took my family with me, a group of 7 mixes from ages 1-15. It’s only a short drive from Alton towers and there are lots of beautiful walks to be tried, however weather wasn’t on our side. Louise and Adrian were absolutely fantastic hosts. Could not do enough for us, would Defo recommend for a family break and will definitely be returning! Thank you so much!
Perfect spot, peaceful holiday
Cosy, comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage
Wonderful cosy cottage. Well equipped with everything you need an comfortable beds. Great place to relax and escape to, yet only 1/2hr to most parts of the Peak District, and less to some of the walks and trails. Had a wonderful time and would stay again.

Or just get some of the fantastic local foods and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the cottage and all the wildlife that comes to visit. It’s so peaceful, no road noise, just the birds and the sheep, the ultimate in tranquillity!
