Women's week on the lake was a great success

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage on Piper Pond in Abbott, ME very much. All the comforts of home in a remote lakeside cottage. The friendly owners, Rachel and Skip were right next door if we had any concerns, but we had plenty of privacy. This pristine pond site, miles away from any major road, ensured only the sounds of nature. We walked miles of back roads with our dogs off leash - no cars to worry about. We kayaked from the camp to the town beach and were treated to seeing and hearing the Loons. We made good use of the fire pit, Adirondack chairs and picnic table near the water. The cabin is well designed with a bedroom on each of 3 levels giving the 5 of us plenty of room. The landscaping outside and interior design inside are pleasing to the eye and perfectly in line with relaxing experience.

Great Vacation Cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at the cottage this summer and would love to come back! The cottage itself is beautifully decorated but at the same time comfortable and very easy to make yourself feel at home. The kids LOVED hanging out in the game room playing ping pong. The pond was a great place to relax, surprisingly quiet with only an occasional boat passing by. We were very happy that we could bring along our dog. Rachel and Skip had dog bowls and a container of treats just for their furry guests! We spent most of a day hiking Gulf Hagas and swimming in the waterfalls. We only made it half way and can not wait to comeback to see the rest! The Hubby and the kids took off to hike Mt. Borestone on another day while I stayed behind to paddle board, play with the pup, swim, read on the sunny dock and then tied a raft to a mooring and floated in the sun until they returned. We ended our days by the campfire toasting s'mores. The only negative thing I can think of is 5 nights was not enough time!! Thanks for the wonderful Vacation!

A Wonderful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was everything we expected and more, very quiet and private in a great location on Piper Pond. All the amenities we desired were provided and Skip and Rachel were terrific hosts. The Moosehead Lake area is great for outdoor activities. We enjoyed hiking with our dog on the many trails to mountains and ponds. A real gem!

Great place but 30 minutes from Dover-Foxcroft, not the ten minutes quoted!

  • 3 of 5

The cabin and lake were beautiful and I highly recommend renting here if you don't need to go anywhere else! This would have been the perfect place had it truly been just ten minutes from Dover-Foxcroft as Rachel told me via email. Instead, it was a full hour round trip to DF, which really messed up our plans. It was important for us to be close to DF because we were primarily there to visit my grandmother (age 104!) and as she gets easily tired we planned on visiting her two or three times a day. We had to spend a LOT more time in the car than we'd hoped which cut down on our time to enjoy the cabin and the lake. A real bummer for us.

Awesome lake house!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great camp on the lake. Skip and Rachael have done an awesome job building it and furnishing it. It's a great place for those that want to spead some time on the water, ATV (the trail head is right by the driveway!!), hike, relax, and just getaway and spead some time in a really quiet, comfortable atmosphere. The house has three floors, with 5 comfortable beds, a really nice kitchen/bath. The raised porch looks out at the dock/pond and is great for spending time with company. The property is really well kept, and the lanscaping is really neat. All around a great place to stay, we will be back!

Beautiful waterfront cottage

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. From the beautiful decorations to the comfy beds to the easy access to outdoor recreation, I do not have a single complaint. You cannot beat the price for what you get.
