Very clean, decorated beautiful, very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My husband, brother, sister-in law, nephew and I had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. The cabin has everything you need to make your stay very comfortable. There is every kitchen item you would ever need to cook full meals which was really nice. I'm one of those people who always brings my own sleeping bag and pillow. We were very impressed with how clean everthing was. The bedding and towels smell so nice and clean which is wonderful. It was so nice to get up in the morning, do some ice fishing, eat breakfast and go on a snowmobile ride leaving right from the cabin. Piper pond is beautiful and we loved the privacy. We will be returning for more winter activities and look forward to visiting this summer for fishing and ATV riding.

Always a great stay at a great cottage...

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to the property. Skip and Rachel have done a wonderful job building and maintaining this great cabin get-away. Everything about it is perfect. Great pond, secluded, not far from Greenville/Moosehead and the Appalachian, sets literally on an ATV/Snowmobile trail-head, dock your boat, etc... It's awesome, and we hope to be back again next year!!

Women's week on the lake was a great success

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage on Piper Pond in Abbott, ME very much. All the comforts of home in a remote lakeside cottage. The friendly owners, Rachel and Skip were right next door if we had any concerns, but we had plenty of privacy. This pristine pond site, miles away from any major road, ensured only the sounds of nature. We walked miles of back roads with our dogs off leash - no cars to worry about. We kayaked from the camp to the town beach and were treated to seeing and hearing the Loons. We made good use of the fire pit, Adirondack chairs and picnic table near the water. The cabin is well designed with a bedroom on each of 3 levels giving the 5 of us plenty of room. The landscaping outside and interior design inside are pleasing to the eye and perfectly in line with relaxing experience.

Great Vacation Cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at the cottage this summer and would love to come back! The cottage itself is beautifully decorated but at the same time comfortable and very easy to make yourself feel at home. The kids LOVED hanging out in the game room playing ping pong. The pond was a great place to relax, surprisingly quiet with only an occasional boat passing by. We were very happy that we could bring along our dog. Rachel and Skip had dog bowls and a container of treats just for their furry guests! We spent most of a day hiking Gulf Hagas and swimming in the waterfalls. We only made it half way and can not wait to comeback to see the rest! The Hubby and the kids took off to hike Mt. Borestone on another day while I stayed behind to paddle board, play with the pup, swim, read on the sunny dock and then tied a raft to a mooring and floated in the sun until they returned. We ended our days by the campfire toasting s'mores. The only negative thing I can think of is 5 nights was not enough time!! Thanks for the wonderful Vacation!

A Wonderful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was everything we expected and more, very quiet and private in a great location on Piper Pond. All the amenities we desired were provided and Skip and Rachel were terrific hosts. The Moosehead Lake area is great for outdoor activities. We enjoyed hiking with our dog on the many trails to mountains and ponds. A real gem!

Great place but 30 minutes from Dover-Foxcroft, not the ten minutes quoted!

  • 3 of 5

The cabin and lake were beautiful and I highly recommend renting here if you don't need to go anywhere else! This would have been the perfect place had it truly been just ten minutes from Dover-Foxcroft as Rachel told me via email. Instead, it was a full hour round trip to DF, which really messed up our plans. It was important for us to be close to DF because we were primarily there to visit my grandmother (age 104!) and as she gets easily tired we planned on visiting her two or three times a day. We had to spend a LOT more time in the car than we'd hoped which cut down on our time to enjoy the cabin and the lake. A real bummer for us.

Located on the shores of pristine Piper Pond. Enjoy fishing, swimming, and all of your favorite water activities. The Appalachian trail is not far from the cottage so day hikes up the trail from Monson are fun as well as hikes up Borestone Mountain which is part of the Borestone Mountain Audubon Sanctuary. Borestone is a must for all outdoor enthusiast especially in the fall when the foliage is beautiful. While visiting the area, travel to Moosehead Lake, only a half our drive. Moosehead Lake has much to offer including Moose Safari's, cruise the shores of Moosehead on the historic "Katahdin Steamship". Bring a 4-wheeler or snowmobile depending on the time of year and enjoy many of the trails travelling through the "Maine Highlands"
