Now a little bit about the neighborhood:
The Clinton/Hell’s kitchen area (just off Times Square) combines the great atmosphere of the Theater district with the liveliness of a buzzing neighborhood often compared to the West Village. Indeed, the charming buildings around 46th Street and 9th Avenue will fill you with a unique Village feeling. Numerous restaurants on restaurant row, bars/lounges, grocery stores, coffee shops and other trendy boutiques surround this distinctive tree-lined block and you are within walking distance to Time Square, The Theater District, Central Park, The Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Javits Center and all the world’s renowned museums and art galleries . The immediate area also features a great outdoor playground with a basketball court.
You can also easily travel throughout Manhattan with the N, R, A, C and E subway lines just a few blocks away. The whole of New York is right on your doorstep!
Our family had a great time at this apartment. Well equipped, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Amazing location, close to Times Square, Broadway shows, restaurants, and subway stations. And the building concierge Michel is super nice and helpful, good recommendations. We'll come back !
Sure, it can be loud and pricey (for a two bedroom/no living room apartment)... but considering the location, it's actually very reasonably priced, and not nearly as noisy I was expecting (at least on the weekdays). The apartment was clean, and the hosts were flexible.
Well, the place didn't end up exactly the way we thought from the pictures and it was a little rough around the edges but the location was great and the manager worked very hard to ensure we had a nice stay.
Great apartment! Great location! Located two blocks of Times Square with great food and bars on the street. Michele was the one who I communicated with, and what a pleasure and great service! Everything was super clean, bath tube was alittle outdated but nothing to bother much. Would definitely stay here again!
Had an great stay in NYC. This apartment is close to everything. A couple blocks from Times Square, theaters, Intrepid and sightseeing cruises. Subway stations are a few blocks away and made it easy to get anywear in the city. Lots of good restaurants in the area. The building manager was very responsive to our questions and any issues we had (we lost our keys once and got locked out . . .oops!). I would not say the building is the nicest building I have stayed in but the apartment was clean, functional and met our needs (coffee, bagels for breakfast, etc). Wifi is slow and apartment does not have a living room but why did we come to NYC, not to sit around. The price of the apartment is good and worth it!
Quiet apartment (except for the expected street noises), clean, decent-sized rooms, fine for our party of two adults and two kids. Location can't be beat. We walked to Central Park, MoMA, High Line, our Broadway play, and more. We look forward to returning!
Overall, we had a really good time in New York. This was a girls trip - 4 women. We had a bunch of laughs. Overall, the apartment was fine except for the fact that there is only air conditioning in 1 room. It was so warm in the rest of this small space that we had to pull the mattress off the bed in the 2nd BR and put sleep on the floor in the BR that had a window. The cleaning folks cut it off before we got there! Sweltering! The a/c unit is a rolling model of some sort that has what looks like an dryer vent hose going out the window. The picture really needs to be included in the rental pictures. If you don't want to drag the mattress off and sleep on the floor I would not recommend this apt in the warm months. Secondly, there are 2 breaker locations in the space. 1 is behind a picture in the small BR and the most important one is over the stove. We couldn't reach anyone by phone and had no where to look so had to bang on Michel's door (which he wasn't happy about) to find out what to do about no a/c. You can not run a blow dryer and a curling iron at the same time unless maybe you want to shut off the a/c??? Not happening. We had to set the breaker numerous times. Same for the TV. We tried to turn it on to find out status on the pipe bomb from Saturday and it flipped the breaker. The courtyard shown is the pictures is as seen and is shared with a bar. No problem. We met some nice folks they even gave us a complimentary trial on a hooka in the courtyard which was fun...until Michel told them we had to pay for and apparently made a stink about it! I guess he really didn't like being woke up! Stairs are steep but we knew that. This apartment is better suited for 1 couple/2 pp. Great location!
