Nice indoor and outdoor spaces

The house and the amenities were as good as I could have hoped for in a vacation rental. The energy allowance of $5.00 per day is ridiculously low and the refrigerator/freezer did not hold temperature and we lost food as a result. We were pulled into a dispute between the property manager and FlipKey. I don't know who was at fault, but it took away from our stay. As a result, I would not return to the property an probably not use FlipKey in the future.

Owner's Response: You are absolutely correct, I unlisted the home with Flipkey and will never ever use them again and recommend this to everybody. As of today, March 29 I still did not receive the rent which you paid in full to them...

Beautiful Home!!

Rarely have we stayed in a vacation home and felt as comfortable as we did here. It is a beautiful, well kept home, in a great neighborhood. It has a residential feel to it, not a vacation touristy feeling. The pool is beautiful and the canal enjoyable to watch. The bathrooms and kitchen were spotless, and the beds comfortable. The property manager came by shortly after we got here to help us get acquainted with the area. The fact that we had perfect weather our entire time helped too. We would stay here again, in a heartbeat, and may do that if the opportunity comes up again next year.

Fantastic Cape Coral Vacation Location

I would definitely recommend this vacation home if you're planning an extended stay in Cape Coral.

We had a fantastic vacation at the Mandalay Cove home in Cape Coral. The 3BR house is the perfect size for a little get away with family. The pool area is just beautiful, and the direct entrance to the guest bath from the pool area is very handy!

Kurt was extremely helpful and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities during our stay. He was also very easy to get in touch with and responded quickly, which was very much appreciated!

For those of you concerned about the electric useage, we ran the AC at 75F the entire 10-day stay, had the hot tub heater on for 7 of the 10 days, and we did at least one load of laundry per day. The resulting electric overage was $75. Do remember to pick up the basics (trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, condiments, laundry and dish detergent, etc.) on your way to the house as these items are not provided.

Just Like Home

This property was a great place to stay and we enjoyed our time there immensely. Booking the property and access on our arrival all went pretty smoothly. All other communications with owner were quickly answered and any concerns were quickly explained. Refunds were prompt. Easy to do business with.

The house itself was as described. It was clean with a few minor exceptions. There were some stained pillow cases in one of the bedrooms and I would have liked to have seen some other amenities supplied. Be prepared to supply your own toilet paper and kitchen garbage bags. We ended up buying and then leaving behind for the next guests; a sponge mop to mop up any spills or water puddles produced when entering the house after using the pool. We also bought and left behind about a dozen hangers because there were only about 9 or so throughout the 3 bedrooms. Another disappointment was that you will only receive over the air television stations (no cable) with most having a frozen or broken digital signal. Hard to watch.

You will be charged for ALL electric usage so I would suggest turning off pool heater for your stay because even though the contract says pool maintenance is included, they apparently don’t consider the pool filter/circulator pump and heater as part as pool maintenance. It was one of our biggest disappointments. In addition, the hot tub never got up to a temperature that you would want to use it without having to run heater forever so it is a great sell but wasn’t utilized as we had hoped it could be. The water supply was from a well and had a terribly strong odor. The salt cell reservoir was empty and wasn’t filled till the pool guy got there in the late afternoon of the day before we left. Another contributor to the strong well water odor.

In any event, it is for those reasons that I hold back my rating and only give it four stars. My suggestions to owners would be to buy some small rugs to place inside and outside pool area doors, supply some toilet paper, garbage bags, hangers, an iron and ironing board, mop, and cable. I also think that propane and cleaning for the grill should not be customer’s responsibility. It should be included in the cleanup fee charged. You might also want to consider allowing a certain amount of electric usage and then charge when a customer goes over.

In the end, I would recommend staying at this property and was pleased enough that I would absolutely come back. We all felt at home at this property.

Owner's Response: Hi Mitch, thank you very much for writing this detailed review but in two topics I do not agree which is the toilet paper and the grill. All the vacation rental homes I know of do not supply more toilet paper than the first roll or two for every bathroom and the BBQ Grill is used by the renter and has to be left behind clean, all others I know charge $50.00 extra for cleaning the grill and we don't do this. Gas is used by the renter and so it should be paid, them thing with the electricity. City water will be hooked up this week, so the smelly well water will be history.

Loved it!

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful house, the house has high standards. The pictures here do not do justice for how nice it really is. We spend many hours at the pool and our kids really enjoyed it. You can choose to heat up the pool as you wish. The realtor is very friendly and helpful, always very quick responses. The house is in a very quiet and nice neighbourhood and yet close to main roads. We can definitely recommend this house and we would love to come here again.
