The bed was comfortable, there are plenty of towels. The only negative thing is that the lights are not very bright (CFC things), difficult to read a book.

...We have rented VRBO properties for many years. Never have I or others I know been asked to sign a blank insurance claim form for the property management to "keep on file" until the cleaning people have inspected the property. I refused to sign a blank insurance form and received a call from Carolyn Moore (property manager partner) that my paperwork was not complete without it. She told me they sometimes find makeup on towels or blood on the sheets and I needed to leave a signed blank form on the counter prior to leaving the property and they would get in touch with me before they sent anything in. Sorry, but no I am not signing a blank claim for you. This property is clean and quiet must stop at a gate each time to enter and give your name to the guard on duty. We were told to say we were guests of the property owner which became apparent to us that no way were we going to be able to have our friends we were visiting over for a glass of wine etc. How would they get in the gate when they want to know the names of everyone in your car? Ridiculous feeling like a criminal on vacation. Because of this, only rent this property if you know your vacation will involve 2-4 people who must explain yourselves at the gate every day to get a new pass. David, the property manager was great to work with but you must sign and pay on two different websites and be prepared to send in picture ID (I don't blame them for wanting to know who is renting the place). Nice property to own a condo but not in my opinion a good VRBO rental for us.

Owner's Response: Hello and Thank you to all of our Guests who have stayed at our Sedona Condo. I just wanted to clarify a few issues. We do not require a security deposit. We have our Guest purchase an accidental property damage protection plan( however they can choose a fully refundable security deposit). This is a reimbursement policy meaning we must go out and purchase the the replacement Item then submit the receipt to get Reimbursed. There are several forms that we require to be filled out and ready to go in the event of an accident. This allows us to be able expedite the Insurance claim when we have in our file. NO CLAIM CAN BE GUESTS. We are located in a very Secure Guard Gated Complex. Even in a Hotel there is a Guard to make sure that uninvited guests that are not accompanied by the registered Guest are not allowed to just walk around the rooms.. Our Guests can have Visitors at anytime. They just need to let us know and we can add them to the guest list... This is only to protect you from unwanted Visitors. Sedona is professionally managed by a Licensed property manager who has been in the Vacation rental business for over 10 years now. When you book the site processes the service fee and the Insurance fee. We process the rents and cleaning fee using our own merchant with Worldpay. We accept Visa and MC. You can also choose to pay through Paypal. Our Guests are all very Important to us and we want you to feel comfortable and safe when staying in one of our Home always. We hope to have you as one of our Guest soon and keep you coming back.. Sincerely, David

Good overall - some details need improving

The property itself was fine overall. Everything was as advertised; there are some details that could be improved, starting with the fact that there was no key available to use the pedestrian gates into and out of the property. This means you have to go through the car entrance if you're trying to walk outside the property, dealing with the guard, etc. Also, the parking permit needs to be renewed on a daily basis, which involves a delay at the guard shack, answering questions, etc. We have used other units at this complex [Sedona] where neither of these issues were on the table - key provided, parking pass available in the unit.

Combine this with the needlessly complex booking process [much e-mailing back and forth, attaching documents to e-mails, phone calls], and you lose a couple of stars.

Comfort levels here are fine, the appliances work fine [though showing some age], bed was very nice. No DVD player, though this is a small quibble. In general, value for money is OK, but there are other units in this complex with fewer limitations and a simpler process to make a reservation, for about the same money. It is what it is....

Quiet, clean

We enjoyed having our own space and avoiding the big, noisy casinos for sleep. At night, the strip is only 10 minutes away. Shopping and the south point casino is nearby.
