3 Bdrm 2 Bath with Wrap-A-Round Deck Sleeps 10 Peaceful Paradise Close to Gulf
About Pete Vega
Our new family lives just outside of Orlando which is approximately 1.5 hours from Crystal River. We are all Florida natives; Pete grew up in Inverness which is the town next to our vacation condos and why we chose Crystal River. We like the laid back sleepy little town feel and fell in love with the areas springs, specifically Three Sisters. What started as a weekend get a way has turned into a wonderful place we are happy to share.
Pete Vega purchased this House in 2015
Why Pete Vega chose Woods N Waters
Crystal River is a quiet little town with plenty to offer. The springs are beautiful and less than a 20 minute boat ride from our dock. On any given morning you can see manatees and dolphin swim by our dock, boat or paddle to waterfront restaurants and enjoy the nature preserve in Kings Bay. A 3 mile scenic boat ride takes you to the Gulf of Mexico where there is fantastic fishing, nature viewing and in the summer, scallop harvesting. You will enjoy near by Homosassa Wildlife Park and Indian burial grounds which leave a lot to explore. Golf courses, bike/hiking trails close will allow for an active vacation if desired.
What makes this House unique
We love our Bald Eagle home for several reasons including the quiet neighborhood surrounded by nature. We enjoy the 360 degree wrap-a-round Deck with beautiful views of old Florida and the Salt River as well as the tidal canal and our floating dock and sea wall in the back yard. You will love to open floor plan and the newly remodeled kitchen. It is great for families with the main house on the 2nd level and the third bedroom on the lower level with a private entrance (great for teens or guests). Covered parking and boat/trailer parking included.

This house fit our needs perfectly for a group of 9. There were plenty of beds and sitting areas to relax. Having a huge kitchen and laundry area was ideal. But the best part was having our boat right out back.
We agree! We are glad you enjoyed your visit. We look forward to having you and your group back....Pete
This lovely home is well-decorated and very clean. Big flat screen TV,great beds, dock , three kayaks
The all-around veranda on the second floor is a wonderful feature. There is sun when you want it and shade when you choose.Cool ocean breeze at night! Also the backyard has a good dock with a dredged canal for kayak or boat tie-ups. We loved the shore birds and jumping mullet in the water each morning. The neighbourhood is quiet and the home is only five miles from Crystal River. We had A perfect holiday here !
The Hay family. February 2018
It is such a joy to share our home with our neighbors from Canada...they have such a great appreciation for what Crystal River has to offer (also helps we had one of the warmest February on record)....it is nice to hear you enjoyed our home and location....let us know when you plan to visit again!
Very nice location
Ideally would have loved to have a bathroom in the bedroom downstairs . Pete was very responsive to any questions .
This is a great durable house. All tile and hard hardwoods throughout. It has space to breath inside. Actually room for a couple of inflatable mattresses in living room if needed. Great wrap around porch, but not gated for pets. Great access to SUP and kayaking around a very natural marsh. This neighborhood is directly across the street from Twin Rivers Marina road so you have all kinds of boat access. There is also a ramp in neighborhood. It’s a bit off the beaten path, which can be great, but you have a 6 mile drive back to civilization. Wasn’t an issue for us. It’s close to the only beach in the area and Twin Rivers rents boats that can give you access to kings springs. If you are planning to swim with Manatees, go talk to Birds Underwater first. You can rent boats and do it, but you should get educated before you do.
1. Off Beaten Path
2. Great for SUP and Kayaking away from people, 3 solid kayaks, paddles and life preservers at house. You need whistles.
3. Spacious inside.
4. Durable surfaces in house for dogs or kids
5. Views are great from house
6. Nice dock for boat and ramps
7. Quiet neighborhood
1. Off the beaten path
2. We found smell in added room to be too offensive and couldn’t use room. Owner repeatedly said it was nothing. He should sleep in it! The people that would have stayed in there could stay on blowups in living room.
3. We were here for 8 days and found kitchen a little spartan for cooking.
4. Owner is a bit crusty. Try to avoid having to contact about anything. It’s more like you are a nuesance than a paying guest.
5. Bring pillows, bit old and cheap
Overall it is a cool property that is close to good natural surroundings.
We agree with most of what this guests mentioned....the home does offer great views, nice dock and water access and is surrounded by natural crystal river water ways ideal for exploring and kayaking.
To respond to the cons
The downstairs bedroom was locked up for a few weeks and may have had a stale smell, typically some air circulation will take care of the issue...we offered a air purifier and ozone machine to eliminate any issues.
We have since added a few more pots and pans to the kitchen based on this feedback.
We have also replaced several pillow, again thanks for the feedback.
We certainly do want to be known as "crusty", we do our best to accommodate even the most demanding guest.....our goal is for each visit to be an enjoyable....overall it appears this guest had a pleasant stay!
Nice house. A.C. could have been cooler. Dock could use some repair. But loved it and enjoyed.
Very well equipped
The City of Crystal River is built around Kings Bay, a manatee
sanctuary popular for diving in the winter when manatees are in
abundance. Summer offers a warm area for all types of water sports
with the constant cool waters from the springs to keep you
comfortable. Easy access to the Gulf of Mexico for year round fishing
and, when in season, scalloping. Fast becoming an area known for
ecotourism with a large number of nature trails, parks and a canoe
trail. For the Golfing enthusiasts we have 9 courses enough to keep
you busy all week. Lots of shopping for the bargain hunters. Close
enough for day trips to Orlando and Tampa for all the major theme
