About Nickie and Francis Noel
We purchased the property over 25 years ago. Originally there was a small cabin on the property but as the children grew, spouses and grandchildren started to come along we realized that we had outgrown our beloved cabin. Eight years ago we started the process of building our dream cottage by ourselves. We wanted a place where children could run in and not worry about getting floors dirty, a place where people felt comfortable lounging around, a home that was welcoming. A lot of love went into the making of our special place and we are happy to share it with others for a fews weeks in the summer or fall, We hope it brings many wonderful memories for our guest as it has for us and our family.
Nickie and Francis Noel purchased this House in 1990
Why Nickie and Francis Noel chose Glover
The first time we saw the property and stood by the water's edge we felt the peace that only the sound of lapping water can bring after a hectic week at work. We knew beyond a doubt that this would be a place to call home in years to come. We have a wonderful community of camp owners and residents. We enjoy community activities and all are welcomed to join in a paddle around the pond on the first full moon in the summer months. If you are looking to just get away from the hustle and bustle , Daniels Pond offers the chance to reconnect with family or friends. The chance to de-stress from work and just relax!
What makes this House unique
What could be better than to sit in the screened in porch, swinging away on the porch swing, enjoy a good book at hand and maybe even a glass of wine? No bugs to swat at, just good conversation, cool drinks, snacks and no worries. You can watch the sun go down and watch the sky light up with intense reds, golds and purples. Listen to the loons calling out their songs. Doesn't get any better than that! Want to build some sandcastles with the kids? Shadow Lake has a sandy beach and ample parking just 5 minutes from the cottage. Crystal Lake State Park and Lake Willoughby with their long sandy beach are just a few miles away. If hiking is one of your interest Mount Pisca offers two trails up to the summit with scenic views of Willoughby Lake and the surrounding area. Jay Peak and Burke Mountain are less than an hour away each with it's own unique activities. Jay Peak resort has an 18 hole golf course, indoor skating rink, gondola rides and a beautiful indoor water park, not to mention some fabulous restaurants. Burke offers miles of trails for mountain biking for the sports anthuist. One of our favorite places is Stowe Village just 45 minutes away. Stowe is home to the Trapp Family Lodge, Smugglers Notch and a village that has shopping, art galleries, top knotch restaurants and miles of paved walking and biking trails that wind around the valley floor and connect to the various shoppes and eateries. You can spend a whole day there and still not see everything. Newport located 25 miles away is where you can stock up on groceries, go to the movies, eat on the waterfront of Lake Memphormagog at one of three restaurants on the water. Newport has all the amenities, restaurants, dry cleaners, hospital, hardware stores, banks and more. Our area is home to many micro breweries and specialty wine makers and there are tours and tasting that can be enjoyed. We will happily provide you with brochures to make your stay as fun filled as you desire.

beautiful and peaceful
Beautiful home with wonderful owners. Nickie and Francis were accessible if we needed anything and very helpful but also respected our privacy.
A quiet, quiet pond.. Except for the loons which were there every morning making their beautiful calls. We also saw 2 bald eagles, one right in the tree above our house. So cool.
Home away from home for sure!
This is our second summer renting from Nickie and Francis. Their house is fantastic - well equipped and comfortable. Cooking there is a dream and the lovely decor and location were perfect for us. We loved being able to canoe, kayak and swim every day and sitting in the beautifully kept yard is a joy. It's a bonus to have Nickie and Francis nearby. They're wonderful people who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - including freshly baked bread and muffins! We're looking forward to renting from them for many years to come. Thank you for a great, great stay.
It is always a pleasure to have renters such as yourselves return. It feels like friends coming to visit. We enjoyed seeing how much fun you were all having and we loved that your friends could drop by and spend time with you and your family. This what we always wanted for our place, a place where friends and family gather and make great memories. We look forward to seeing you all again! Nickie and Francis
Beautiful house and surroundings. Very relaxing! Just what we needed.
The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Loved the screened-in porch! Kayaks, canoe, and fishing poles were all available for our use. Stars were super bright at night. A lovely, bright home with all the amenities. Truly relaxing.
Kim and Mark and their family were the perfect guest. Their first day turned out to be a foggy rained in day but they all made the best of it. With rain jackets and positive attitudes they paddled out onto the pond and investigated the area. Rain was not going to keep them house bound! It was fun seeing everyone having a good time and to see their smiling faces. You truly felt that they treated the home like their own and they left it in wonderful shape. We would love to have them back and have a chance to host them and their family/friends again. NIckie and Francis
We stayed here with our two teenage boys and there was plenty of room. The house has a screened in porch overlooking the pond, plus has everything one needs to feel at home. It is clean and has great beds. Nicky and Francis, the owners, are wonderful caretakers and will make sure you have everything you need to relax in the great Northeast Kingdom.
Perfection on Daniels Pond!
The "Memory Maker" is the perfect lakeside cottage - owners, Nickie and Francis Noel, are a warm and welcoming couple who built this charming home from the ground up themselves. They've thought of absolutely everything to make your stay comfortable and cozy. Nickie has a true decorator's eye and is a wonderful artist- some of her landscapes adorn the walls of the home. The beds are extremely comfortable- we slept so well. The kitchen was well equipped. There is a large and commodious screened in porch, which is essential when it's buggy outside.
We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner outside in the Adirondack chairs, listening to the loons, and staring out at the beautiful lake. But there is also a table and chair outside to seat a larger group. We used the kayaks every day and did a tour of the pond. While it's not huge and not deep, Daniels Pond is lovely. Glover is remote but it's gorgeous. We found plenty to do in the summertime- hiking, biking (we went to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center for use of the bikes and bike trails) and exploring the extraordinary Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
Miriam and Bruce it was a pleasure to have you both in our cottage. We are glad that Memory Maker lived up to it's name. There something about eating breakfast by the water, listening to the loons and watching the sun reflect on the pond that not only feeds the body but also feeds the soul. We loved that you explored the area and enjoyed some of the many activities that abound in the Northeast Kingdom. Our door is always open and we would feel honored to have you stay at Memory Maker anytime you are ready to return to Vermont. NIckie and Francis
Wonderful -- recommend without reservation.
