Great Spot in Amelia Island
The location is great - walk to the beach, restaurants, bars and live music. Really close grocery store too. I recommend for solo trips or small family stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. A couple of things that was hard for us (seniors) was that it was on the second floor but that can't change and the condo could use a few repairs. The window over the kitchen sink needs to be changed or cleaned well. You just can see thru it. Otherwise, a very nice condo.
This place was great for our family's stay. The pool was refreshing. My kids enjoyed hanging out on the screened in porch. We could definitely hear other families in the other condos but that did not bother us one bit. I love when a place is family friendly.
Good overall, but the trail to the beach has not been maintained.
We came back to Amelia Landings after vacationing here 10 years ago. Back then, we loved the quiet neighborhood tucked away in a wooded area, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the beach town, with a pleasant "walk through the woods" towards the beach. Sadly, the pleasant walk has not been maintained. There is a large bush that completely covers it at one point, and you have to squeeze between it and a fence to get through. At another point, a low tree bends right over the trail and you have to bend down to go under it. This is not new growth but shows the trail has not been maintained for some time. The Amelia Landings owners need to do something about this.
Another problem was we did not have the correct code to the pool gate. This is updated periodically and we were told the owner should have notified us. Luckily we were finally let in after showing the pool bands.
Lastly, it's not terribly important, but the listing was not completely accurate. There was no hammock on the porch and the tubs were not "large soaking tubs", just normal--if not narrower than normal--sized tubs.
The place was clean and most of the furnishings were OK, but the couch is stained and really should be replaced. The wallpaper and carpets looked old, too.
We did appreciate the ping-pong table and the many supplies in the kitchen, as well as the stock of games and cards.
Overall, we like the Amelia Landings property, but would recommend maintenance of the trail, updating the listing to be more accurate, and making sure renters have the correct pool gate code.
My husband, myself and grandson really enjoyed our stay at the condo. Location was great, we did day trips to St. Augustine, Fl and Savannah, Ga. Beach was close and the pool was amazing!
Fine but NOT great
First of all we LOVED Amelia island/Fernandina Beach! The area had the right amount of restaurants to choose from and our favorites were Cantina Louie and Sliders! The beach was perfect! Never crowded and the waves were a blast for the kids to jump in! Also very clean and tons of shells to collect. We loved touring Fort Clinch and local parks.
We were disappointed with the condo though.First off In the pictures the ping pong table was full size ,but in person it’s kids size with the net being held up with twigs. Next the sofa was incredibly dirty and had holes in the cushions! Also the carpet in the bedrooms was very dirty with lots of stains and very worn. Lastly the master bed was advertised as a queen and in fact it’s a full size mattress. It was very uncomfortable for my husband and I both tall people to sleep. None of these things ruined our vacation but they did disappoint us. On a positive note the condo was nicely stocked with trash bags, soaps, paper towels, and everything you’d need to prepare a meal. So that was very nice to have. We would not rent this condo again but would love to visit Amelia Island again. Thanks!
