About Mark Mammel
My wife and I have visited Carmel, both for business and with our family, for 30 years. We finally decided to buy this wonderful house. We love the area, with its consistently warm- but not hot- temperatures and the magnificent Pacific Ocean so close.
Mark Mammel purchased this House in 2011
What makes this House unique
There's nothing like getting up in the morning and heading out for a walk on the beach or down Scenic Avenue. We often head towards Ocean Avenue, then up the road to one of the many coffee shops. The day can unfold from there!

This house has it all, comfort, location, and views. It’s a dream come true.
Charming Cozy Cottage
We celebrated 30 years of Marriage by staying in this Charming Cozy Cottage for a week...we were steps from the beach in a very peaceful quaint neighborhood. We enjoyed the nights by the fire and hearing the soothing sounds of the surf.
This was the second year we stayed at this beautiful house.
We absolutely adore this house! It has so much charm and the view is the best in Carmel!
This is my 2nd time to rent this house- it is the only house in 17 years that I have rented twice! The kitchen is well equipped and the patio in front has a perfect view of the Carmel River beach!! I can restore my spirit once a year in Carmel and I will chose this house again- Thank you, Dr. Mammel for letting us enjoy your house!
Most sincerely, Lynn Casper
So glad you enjoyed your stay. My wife and I thinks it’s magical too!
A very clean, put together place with a wonderful view.
Had a wonderful time at this property with no complaints. Had a great view and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Carmel/Monterey area.
Perfect home and location
This home is such a gem. We stayed with our 2 college age children for 4 nights and loved every minute. We normally eat out every night on vacation but this home was so peaceful and pleasant that we did not want to leave. The landscaping is absolutely incredible, every window frames a different grouping of beautiful plants. We enjoyed the outside fireplace at night while listening to the ocean. The kitchen has every gourmet appliance you could wish for and is well stocked with spices, etc. The beds are very comfortable as is the living area. The neighborhood is lovely and very quiet. Location is close to town and golf courses. We spent one day at Pebble beach, one day wine tasting in Carmel Valley, and one day driving/hiking down in Big Sur. Perfect location for enjoying the area. I cannot say enough nice things about this home, it really is lovely.
Known as one of the most magical places on the planet. A Quaint little village by the sea that enchants all that visit. You will see wonderful beaches, delightful architecture, and scenes that will inspire your soul!
Once you've experienced the serenity and quiet beauty of this seaside town, you may never leave. A tourist draw for over 100 years, the spectacular coastline, striking white sand beaches, bohemian charm, trendy shops and fine restaurants keep people coming back. No streetlights or house numbers were the early ground rules in what originated as an artists' colony, and that hasn't changed. Within the town's original one square mile, houses are identified by the nearest crosswalks or even the closest tree. Grab a picnic lunch and stroll along the beach, where you can gaze out at some of the world's most stunning coastline views. Then, meander through town to explore the chic boutiques and art galleries. A trip to the beautiful Carmel Mission reinforces the tranquil aura; time seems to have stood still since the mission's establishment in 1771. Outdoor types should head to Point Lobos State Reserve, with its hiking trails, scuba diving and a chance to watch even the sea lions savor the easy life.
