About Debra

We love all 4 seasons in Big Bear and it is a very dog friendly community. Two great ski resorts with plenty of winter fun. Explore the many hiking trails with your 4 legged friends all year long. In the summer spend a day on the lake or stroll through the quaint village.

Debra purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Debra chose Big Bear Lake

Having grown up in the mountains of upstate NY I have always dreamed of owning a cabin in the woods. Presently living in Las Vegas, Big Bear seemed like the perfect choice for our second home. We fell in love with this cabin the moment we stepped out on the deck and experienced the peacefulness of the forest setting.

What makes this cabin unique

MoonRidge Location PRIVACY!!! For those of you unfamiliar with the area this means spacious lots in a PEACEFUL mountain setting. You will never have that 'packed in' feeling like some of the other neighborhoods in town. Our backyard is the National Forest with wide open spaces to discover. Take note on the map... no roads or homes behind us!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I want to compliment you on your beautiful cabin, and thank you for all the TLC you put into it. I commented to my wife this morning that if we ever owned a BBEAR cabin we'd love to have you decorate it! We will treat it with the utmost respect. The early morning was beautiful and after experiencing the spa and deck I think the two of us are actually relaxed for the first time in months.

Fantastic Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful break, staying at this cabin for three nights. It was charming, decorated for the holidays, and very comfortable. The property backs right up to the forest, and so hiking, sledding and snowball fights were within easy access. Would love to stay again!

Pride of ownership

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here over past weekend with our family celebrating our son's birthday. Seven adults ( three of whom did not mind trundle or bunk beds), one baby and two doggies. When we entered our first impression was warm, homey and perfect for family. The heat was turned on, as was the television. Because it was so dark out and house was so snowed in, we thought we were at wrong address when we saw tv on through window!

The ambiance is warm and inviting. Decor and furnishings upscale. Kitchen well stocked

( although I had hard time locating some things ).

The location and view is unsurpassed. Parkland as far as eye can see outside your back deck. Neighbors far enough away that you feel the expanse of nature even more so.

Took the dog out for walk first night to the tune of wolves howling to each other. Back slope perfect sledding area for the sleds and saucers left for us to use

Debra the owner is totally involved and diligent about everything. Obvious she takes much pride in the house and making sure guests are pleased.

Only thing I would change would be towels and paper goods. There weren't enough jacuzzi towels for our group so I had to use bath towels and wash after jacuzzi use. Not a big deal.

No extra garbage bags and no big garbage bags so either bring your own or maybe housekeeping should leave more. Again not a big deal.

Highly recommended!!!!

Owner's Response: I apologize for there not being enough white spa towels, I have once again requested my housekeeping staff to be sure to ALWAYS have 8 available for my guests. So very happy you and your family enjoyed!

Beautiful scenic views

  • 3 of 5

The property is clean and well appointed with a beautiful hot tub, lovely kitchen and delightful living room. The downside was the main bathroom was on the main floor but the bedrooms were on the top and bottom floors. That meant going up or down steep stairs in the middle of the night. There is a small bathroom on the top floor, but unless you are very good friends or family, that arrangement is awkward. The bedding was really nice with flannel sheets. The furnishings were very nice. The downside was the king bed with the bath upstairs sloped to the center so much that I gave up and slept in the trundle bed room in the bottom of the cabin. The owner is lovely and the driveway was plowed out before we arrived. The drive does have a slope to it so that snow removal was critical! Nice decks and nice laundry. This place would be amazing for bird watching in summer! Very pleasant and pretty home.

Owner's Response: I certainly apologize if the king bed was as you described, no one else has ever mentioned this to me. If in fact this is the case I will replace it as soon as possible. The bedroom/bathroom arrangement is described on my listing and usually on the phone with each of my guests. I take pride in providing the best possible experience for all my guests. I always want my guests to enjoy my cabin as you and your family seemed to, however, I do feel only 3 stars was unreasonable.

Winter Wonderland Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

4 adults and 4 kids had a lovely Thanksgiving at Pinecone Ridge. The view out the back is beautiful and it feels spacious outside with no homes behind it. To the delight of our son (and our two dogs), it snowed, and that made the outside jacuzzi even more fun. The owner was easy to work with and responsive, we had no problems with the house, which was well stocked, everything was in working order, there were lots of extras, and it was clean and comfortable. Easy arrival and departure. There was not enough seating in the living room for 8 people at once, and dining table was maxed out with 8 (the description does expressly state a maximum of 8). An amazing extra perk is the complimentary firewood. After the snow we did have to dig our car out of the driveway (they had 2 snow shovels) but the road itself had been cleared. We would stay here again, though with 6 people it would have been more comfortable. My only recommendation would be to install a light in the upstairs shower (we hung a flashlight on the curtain rod).

Just what the doctor ordered!

  • 5 of 5

When we first walked into this cozy log cabin surrounded by trees, I think my first words to my husband were, "This is a dream come true!" Pinecone Ridge is SO great. Private, spacious, clean, classy. The woodwork is beautiful and everything is so nice--beautiful furniture, beautiful decorations, huge master beds, and all the amenities you could want, including a fabulous fireplace with an ample supply of firewood, big TVs, wifi, and laundry. The back treetop deck is simply amazing and huge, complete with a gas grill, lots of seating, and a breathtaking view. And then there's the hot tub on the back deck--it is luxurious, private, clean, easy to use, and has an incredible view of the mountains. We loved cooking dinner in the kitchen, putting the baby to bed, and relaxing in the hot tub under the stars. Our dogs loved hiking the surrounding trails with us by day, and curling up next to the fireplace by night. We needed a quiet, secluded vacation spot, and a week at Pinecone Ridge is just what the doctor ordered.
