Beautiful view and peaceful!
The property was perfect for a getaway off the grid. The house was nicely decorated to make you comfortable and rested. First time I ever kayaked and loved it. Nice fish in Ostrander lake and fun to catch.
I would recommend this property and hope to stay there again.
Hemlock Hideaway was exactly what we were looking for. I have never had an outhouse or used an outside sink, and I was a little worried I would hate it. However, this place was great! The cabin has just enough room to not feel cramped, but its still homey. We can't say enough about how wonderful the location of the cabin is. We honestly only left the neighborhood for one day! We had all these plans of going to Munising etc, and we loved the local area so much we stayed close to the cabin. Boats and kayaks were great! We love to fish so that took up most of our time. If we ever make it back to the UP, this is where we will stay again for sure. Couldn't beat the quality for the price! I also need to mention that communication was great and Lisa handled all of my questions and more. Thanks again fro hosting us, and I hope we will be back soon!
Nice weekend away from it all
I really like this cabin it was comfortable but rustic. It was a great place to disconnect and relax. The fishing was pretty good and i loved that it had everything you needed and had 2 kayaks.
Clean, Cozy, and Peaceful Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, smelled good, organized, and very accommodating. We got a lot of use out of the fishing boat and kayaks that came with the rental. The outdoor plumbing was not a big deal, and the shower was cool. Our beds were comfortable. Our kids appreciated Netflix on the television, and we definitely used the wifi! We were close enough to Munising to do short trips or long ones.
Perfect peaceful getaway
My wife, dogs, and infant son stayed here August of 2018 and we are going back again this summer.
This home was near perfect for us.quiet and peaceful. There is simply nothing better than sitting by the water or on the deck relaxing. The location was close enough that we could drive into town if need be, or head to the local sights like pictured rocks, hiking trails, or some of the many waterfalls in the area.
The property manager was super easy to work with, and the home was clean and in good repair. It was nice to have access to both the lake and the river behind the cabin, though i wished we had stayed longer and had more time to explore the chain of lakes.
It is a little bit of a walk down the pathway to get to the lake or river, so those with mobility issues may find it challenging.
The outdoor shower was a blast(my son loved it!). Outdoor sink/dishwashing station was convenient, but took a little getting used to. Only possible downside was the outhouse, but we knew what we were getting into and it was certainly the nicest outhouse ive ever had the pleasure of using.
All in all, this little slice of heaven was just what we needed to get away.
Peaceful cabin tucked away in the forest
Charming cabin in the woods- my family and I (kids 8,5 and 2) had a blast swimming in the lake, having nightly bonfires, and relaxing in nature. The cabin was well equipped, comfortable, and clean. Relaxing by the lake was by far our favorite thing, perfect shore depth for smaller kids and my older kids (and I!) had a lot of fun jumping off the raft into the lake. It was a wonderful way to spend a week- the Hiawatha National Forest and nearby Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are breathtaking. We so enjoyed our time ‘up north’!
Thank you for the great review, Sarah!
So happy you enjoyed the cabin and all it's "rustic-ness"! Please come back again anytime.
