About the Owner
The property was purchased by our grandparents in the 1950's as a retreat from his medical practice in Seattle. They built a 'Tea House' style cabin on the property. At the time, our grandfather was the only doctor on the Island, and he ended up with many patients on the Island waiting to see 'Doc' when they arrived for their weekend get-aways. Our entire family (now 5 generations) have enjoyed the cabin and property since 1960. In 1999, our parents decided to retire to the Island, and custom-designed this Lindal Cedar home. Our parents lived on Lopez and enjoyed their home for years.

I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. The property is the most gorgeous in the San Juans. Everything in the brochure was as stated and more. We found clams and oysters even at high tide although we could not eat them due to the red tide. Just cannot express the serenity and beauty of the property and island. We will be back if time and chance allows and the property is still available. Oh - I wanted to mention the outstanding service we received from you also. You are a treasure.

We had a family reunion with 12 siblings and cousins ranging in age from 23 to 65 and the house was perfect for our group. Lots to do on Lopez and the house set-up gave everyone plenty of space. It would be nice to have more queen beds and fewer twin beds, but that is just our particular preference. The fire ring was a great place to gather in the evening.
Beautiful, well designed , accommodating, clean ,with a great view.
Great property for a family gathering with grown children and their spouses. Lopez Island during Christmas week 2015 was very quiet, but that is what we wanted. Nature trails were spectacular, such as Iceberg Point, Shark's Bay, etc. We could see splendid views of Mt. Baker from the large windows in the living room of the house beyond the bay on which we were situated. Kitchen fully equipped for cooking delicious meals. Kichen table good for board games.
Lovely, lovely, lovely
We are long term (30 years) visitors to Lopez and we know the island well. This is a lovely retreat and one that can accommodate young children ( many Lopezian houses cannot). We hope to be back with all the kids and grandchildren.
We had a perfect weekend away at the smaller cabin on the property. It was right up against the beach, nestled in some trees with a beautiful deck to sit out on. It was tranquil and quiet. We brought the dog, which makes life so much easier (and better). There was another group in the big house, but we barely saw each other. It was a weekend of grilling out, reading, biking and hiking. Make sure to check out iceberg point! We will definitely be back!
This house was fantastic. The view was amazing. The property was well maintained. There was plenty of space to have the kids downstairs playing and the adults upstairs relaxing. We really enjoyed ourselves. Great for extended families as there is room for everyone.
Family reunion on Lopez Island
The house was perfect for our family reunion, a gathering of six. The open floor plan on the main floor was accommodating for chatting around the fire, several cooks in the kitchen and meals overlooking the water. Sleeping spaces were nicely scattered for privacy with abundant bathroom facilities. All was immaculate and well equipped. The property was spectacular with views looking through the madrones to the shoreline.
For us the timing in beginning of Oct, might have been better relative to weather. It was comfortable but fog kept our days overcast until mid-afternoon.
