3 Bed / 2 Bath, Sleeping & Dining for 8. Beaches 5mins & 8mins walk
We live in the Bay Area and have fallen, completely and utterly in love with Carmel. We love to visit our home there as often as possible. Come and see why !!
Owner purchased this House in 2011
Why Owner chose Southeast Carmel
In a word, location ! Our home is so close to the 2 beautiful carmel beaches. Imagine having to decide which one to walk to !! For dinner the choice is even more difficult. A gentle 200 yards to the ex-mayor's mission ranch hotel & restaurant, or a short trip to ocean avenue for carmel's very best restaurants. Our favorite there is Dametra, but Mission Ranch is so relaxing with its Piano Bar and outside seating watching the sunset and the sheep !
What makes this House unique
Our home can sleep 8 comfortably. It's 1750 sq ft. You can make dining arrangements for 8 indoors or outdoors, in the back yard ! The living room also seats 8 for movie watching. All bedrooms have slumber-guarantee memory foam mattresses! We have 4 flat screen TV's throughout the home with DirecTV, Netflix, 3D movies and DVD's.

Beautiful house. Great location. Rick, the property manager, & June, the owner, were very nice and communicated well. I loved the beach house style, the long dining table, all the natural sunlight, and the beautiful gardens. It was nice walking to town & to the beach. Thank you!
Idyllic location: secluded yet walking distance from the beach, Mission Ranch Restaurant, and The Mission. Short drive to downtown shops. Well kept home. Comfortable. Spacious. The home welcomes you with the sweet smell of lemon blossoms! Rick, the caretaker of this home was punctual, gracious, and informative. We would stay here again!
Everything you need
Great spot, nice spacious house with plenty of comfortable beds for our family of four. A little bit of hike to town but the walk is always nice. Really good value, we’ll come back for sure!
Beautiful and cozy
We had a wonderful stay at this darling house - it is so light and airy and the windows let in all the sunshine. If it's rainy, there is a wonderful fireplace to curl up next to. Would highly recommend!
Really nice home and great location.
We loved the location of this bright, airy property, which is just a 10 minute walk to the very enjoyable Carmel River State Beach. The Crossroads Shopping Center is across Route 1, featuring a good Safeway and the Rio Grill. We mostly cooked at the house rather than dining out (due to young children in our family) and were able to make do despite a shortage of some common cooking utensils. One of our favorite features of the house was the well-equipped playroom in the former garage space; our 3 year old grandson loved it on the several rainy days we encountered. The rain, however, highlighted several skylights with leaks, and the cold weather revealed that the gas fireplace, the only source of heat in the living room, kitchen and dining area, was not up to the task on cold mornings. The beds and their mattresses and linens were good.
In your review, you claimed several skylights with leaks and source of heat in the house was lacking. We have stayed there since your visit during heavy rain and cold weather and experienced no leaks. By turning up the furnace, we were able to fully warm the house. If there were leaks and the house is cold, Rick would definitely hear from you or our following guests which he did not.
I would also like to highlight your note to the several rainy days that you and your family chose to stay indoor, did home cooking and your three year old grandson playing in the house. How could it be possible if there were several leaks?
It is clear that you are upset over the inspection report received after your check out. The kitchen drawer bin was damaged. The fifty dollars repair cost was deducted from the damage deposit which is very fair and reasonable. Given your positive comments, the negative review is unreasonable.
Point Lobos State Park is about 3 miles away and its possible to walk there from the house if you walk roadside for about 400 yards.
The town of Carmel has many world class restaurants, art galleries and boutiques. We and our property manager will be happy to give you our recommendations.
Further afield are the world famous golf courses and Monterrey bay aquarium, Cannery row and whale watching. Our property manager can secure discounted tickets for Monterrey bay aquarium.
Golf and nature walks are plentiful and you are just north of the world famous Big Sur Highway 1 ! It's one of those 'must do's', to drive this road to Santa Barbara or Hearst castle with the top down!
