Why David De Jager, Owner chose Wolfeboro
This is one of the last surviving Cottage Clusters in the area. We can host up to 75 people. This used to be the predominant method of travel for thousands of weary city dwellers escaping the heat, noise and smoke of the summer to arrive by train, carriage and boat to these shores. Most other colonies have been dismantled or sold for condominiums, but we endeavor to preserve this pure and healthy traditional form of family vacations dating back to the 1920's when travel was just a little bit edgy and vacation was in it's advent. Come experience a nostalgic piece of history and see if you don't agree with so many others who feel they have re-discovered something forgotten deep inside them.

We had a great time at cottage seven. It was just the three of us, my wife and daughter and myself. My daughter is eight and loved the small loft area. The cottage was very clean and bed was very comfortable as well. Although they are older cottages they have been nicely updated and water pressure was very good. Location is great and although cottages are close they are set up so you still have privacy. Only factor was listing stated there was a pool and there is not. I did contact the owner with the question because it’s unclear. communication was quick to let us know there is no pool on premises. Communication was good throughout our stay with owners and we had a great time and would come back.
Wonderful people, cozy and comfortable cottage.
The Cottages Experience
Perfect property, wonderful hosts- secluded yet accessible - great experience!
A retro-return to America's Oldest Summer Resort...
Nostalgic 1940s cottages with modern conveniences and fun decor! The Yahtzee dice and deck of cards upon arrival made me smile. The owner, David and Jodi, the host, were friendly and attentive from the time of booking and throughout our stay; details were easily exchanged through text messaging.
The cottage was very clean, and all the "starting supplies" listed were fully stocked. Comfortable bedding, towels. We made a quick stop to the nearby grocer (a block down) to stock the fridge...very easy walking distance to the center of Wolfeboro and the lake. The car stayed parked except for the morning we drove to hike to the Castle in the Clouds.
We lodged over Labor Day weekend...full cottages, and yet quiet hours were respected. Seeing the children on the tire swing...guests playing Cornhole and roasting marshmallows at the two fire pits...good ol' fashioned summertime fun!
Highly recommend for travelers who have a sense of nostalgia...would be a fun place for a family reunion! We'll be back!
Comfortable, nice place with character and close to all in Wolfeboro.
We spent six days in Cottage 7 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and comfortable with nice furnishings and a comfortable bed. Having the cute kitchen and sitting area outside was a huge plus! The cottages are so close to downtown Wolfeboro and both Lake Winnipesaukee and lake Wentworth! You can walk the trails to so many great spots. If we didn’t live in California we would come back every year.
Good for Kids
Pics don’t justify location. It was on a main road with a short drive to the lake. Thought there would be more privacy. Hosts were excellent and extremely accommodating. Rooms were very clean and good beds. I wa impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked.
Activities for Every Age within a Short Walk, Bike or Paddle... Wolfeboro is a lovely historic quaint New England community located at the eastern end of Lake Winnipesaukee providing astounding summertime activities including a power boating, sailing, snorkeling/diving, tubing, hiking, water/snow skiing, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, biking, motorcycle touring, flying, touring, and many others. The area also has lots of craft shows, antique fairs, summer stock theater and country fairs throughout the summer. It is a 5-minute walk to Wolfeboro Village for shopping, a 25-minute ride to Laconia for water parks and other children activities, and a 45-minute ride to Meredith. You can walk to the docks to take the Mount Washington Cruise Boat from Wolfeboro Bay to any other part of the lake (Center Harbor, Laconia, Alton, Meredith) or relax in a canoe or kayak in back-bay.
